Another crowd-puller in Ghent is the medieval fortress Gravensteen. The 'capital of Europe' Brussels with its famous Grand Place is definitely worth a visit as well. So is the historical centre of the medieval city of Bruges, which is a mere half an hour's drive from Ibis Hotel Aalst Centrum. The area around the hotel is inviting to make a cycling trip along the banks of the river Dender.
