Great location - poor, dated accommodations.
We loved the location, just a block from the central square!
Our room was 'dated' with old purple pillows and a purple cloth stapled to the window seat. The TV was probably 12 inches wide.
*my tipAt the visitor center in the main square you can get a map with a 90 minute walking tour to learn about the city.

Close to all touristic places in Alkmaar
So close that you can hear them very well
Perfect location, good breakfast,free wi-fi
Tiny room and bathroom ( we have room on the 1st floor), on the floor in bathroom was laing dirty towels from the previous guests.
Very central, very comfortable and reasonably priced
Arrived early and were given suite so we didn't have to wait til booking in time. Spacious accommodation.
Had to go from room, down the street, to reception and breakfast. Toilet in strange place- next to front door through bedroom and lounge from shower room. Not really a problem though
Well designed, cozy, and accommodating
Well designed, cozy, and accommodating (let us store out bikes in their garage a few minutes away).
A lot of stairs to get to our (top floor) room after a long day's cycles!
nice place, service can improve
Nice location, nice interior, good breakfast bar
Service average. Breakfast bar opened too late for us; when we were at the door at 07.30 we found it locked. Bridal suite has an open toilet: not necessarily the most romantic start of your night! Besides, the spa didn't work and didn't drain.
Comfortable but basic hotel in historic location
Excellent location in heart of historic Alkmaar
Old historic character
No internet or phone in the room
Not good for elderly or infirm guests
No ironing facilities in the whole hotel
Kitchen with no utensils
Comfortable but basic
Convenient but poor value and noisy
good bed and adequate facilities. service friendly but a bit chaotic. Very convenient for the city centre and historic district.
noisy - 1 outside from traffic, coming and going from the central car park for the red light street and other late night entertainments. 2- inside noise from the room above - several nights it was a family with young children, other nights it seemed to be a sex customer leaving about 6am. Poor standard of cleaning. Sink drained very slowly. It took two days to get a light bulb changed.
Pretty nice place but too noisy
central location and friendly Home
we were in the room called "chablis" to the 2nd floor : extremely noisy between our room and upstairs. We could hear the slightest movement of our neighbors because of a noise floor and permeable to noise. overlooking a parking car, thankfully quiet at night. Non-equipped kitchen, even drinking tea.
I am absolutely satisfied with your hotel at all points.
Very cute oufit. Accomodating staff. Good berth. Nice surroundings.
No vegetables (e.g. tomato, roasted onion) at the breakfast.
Acceptable and close to centre hotel
Good central location in a quiet town
Beds were soft. Room was very limited in space.
excellent location, nice room
Excellent stay in a great town
Room size is very good and location is great for restaurants and bars. The rooms are well heated with planty of hot water
I think that you need to have tea and coffee making facilities in the bedrooms. The breakfast could include some fresh fruit and yoghurt. Also the bedrooms could do with some stronger lighting for getting ready at night as you can't see very well.
(Families with young children)
my son had a tummy bug and the tall lady with blonde hair was so kind and helpful, washing his blanket and teddy etc, we really appreciated it and she was so helpful generally.
because the exchange rate is so poor with the pound and euro at the moment it was so more expensive by the time we arrived. we understand thats not your fault but we wish it could be a fixed rate in your own currency at the time of booking.
No heating on in room when we arrived and it was minus 4 outside
