Deceiving Amersfoort Golden Tulip

Location in Amersfoort, a nice little town by its own and at a reasonable short distance from Amsterdam and other dutch interesting sites.

We've spend some pleasant time last year in Berg Hotel, same Hotel Group, same town, and thought this one would have the same standards. Unfortunately, what a difference of Staff! To begin with, we had an initial disparate room distribution; on check out, a wrong total price was computed- a 50% difference. Bad 'basic' customer service: my younger daughter forgot her cellphone transformer plugged in her room's wall socket- though she phoned the next day (from Doorwerth's Golden Tulip, btw), and repeatedly after, six days have passed and she's still waiting for an answer. Apparently, as she was told on the phone, room services were too busy to check it out...

Für einen Kurzaufenthalt eine gute, aber leider laute Lage!

Schöne Ausstattung der Zimmer, Bad toll! Preis toll, da Eröffnungsangebot, viel mehr würde ich aber nicht bezahlen wollen!

Lage zwischen Autobahn und Eisenbahn, sehr schlecht und laut, da es auch keine schalldichten Fenster gibt! Frühstück landestypisch, leider waren manche Lebensmittel nicht mehr taufrisch (Eier)!

Great hotel, well positioned and appointed, but please give us tea :)

Lovely hotel; the balconies were an excellent feature and the staff very helpful.

I realise it's not the done thing in Dutch hotels, but we English really would massively appreciate tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It's not that we don't want to pay for them at the bar, it's quite simply that a hotel's facilities aren't always open at the times when some of us - my girlfriend in particular - crave a cup of tea!

Good location and parking.

Hotel rooms are outside building with reception and breakfast facilities. Front office wants to know all about guest's identity if booked over Hotels.nl. Front desk officer asked double photo identity card (passport + drivers licence or other photo identity card) and credit card (American Express).

Excellent and friendly reception in the evening.Large room and bathroom, good beds. Very nice supper.

(too)long walk to the room from the entrance.Had to search for staff to pay supper! The wake-up call did not happen! Noisy from traffic at night.Poor shower, needs renovation. The arrival of the taxi that I had ordered was not announced to me because they did not check, so I have been waiting while he was waiting aswell.So, overall bad organisation of service I think, allthough friendly and googwilling staff.

Plenty of parking. Lots of facilities.

Room design is bad. On oneof the hottest days, there is no air condition and it is not possible to open a window more than a crack. Room service was non-existant. We ordered to bottles of sparkling wine, only to be told it would take up to and hour to deliver, so we "should come and collect it ourselves"! One female member of the breakfast room staff, was rude, and started having a 'figt' with another member of staff as to where we were "allowed" to sit.

Clean hotel, good varity for breakfast. Plenty of parking.

Bar staff very slow. The bar prices have to be the dearest I have ever paid in my life. £10 or 14 euro for a pint of beer!!!! I could not afford or have the time to get drunk in here!

Excellent hotel. Great service from friendly professional staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms with all facilities. Excellent breakfast buffet with super choice of high quality foods. Hilton always has good quality but this hotel stands out. Great experience.

Unless you are attending a conference at the hotel or are on vacation it is a bit out of the way from the major cities of Holland.

There was no full length mirror in the room. The hotel food was well presented but taste wasn't that great and it was way overpriced i thought. Couldn't get a bus on a Sunday into town that's why we decided to eat in the hotel.

Very nice and cosy hotel - very helpfull receptionists...

We stayed 5 girls in 2 rooms 3 nights. We only had breakfast the last day because of one the girls had her birthday during our stay. We paid the bill afterwards for our stay and couldn't read the complicated invoice. When we returned to Denmark we found out we had paid for breakfast for all 3 days. Why isn't there any check up in the restaurant who has breakfast and who hasn't??? Now we have paid 155 € for nothing!
