Surroundings

The Utrecht Hill Ridge is a great area for walking and cycling trips. You are also recommended to visit Amersfoort's historic city centre, where the Mondriaan House is situated as well as the Military Aviation Museum. The small streets offering an abundance of charming shops and buildings is certainly the 'place to be' for fashion-conscious shoppers. Or how about a relaxing and revitalising day at the nearby spa, Sauna Soesterberg?

A hidden gem.

  • – very poor lighting in the rooms, poor television picture....breakfast should be included or atleast complimentary coffee in the foyer.
  • * my tip Perfect location for visiting the Zoo. Excellent pancake house 5 mins away. Morning walk in the woods to build up an appetite for breakfast.

  • + The staff in this hotel were fantastic. I specifically remember a barman named mohmed and another bar man with blonde hair, i did not catch his name. These two men were extrremely friendly and gave excellent service. As did all other staff. The hotel was very clean and very pleasurable to stay in. I have recommended this hotel to all my friends and will definately return.

  • – "Business centre" consisted of one computer which was only working for two of the four days we were there. Having paid for a T-Mobile card this connection also did not work. Menu in restaurant was misleading (at least the English version): "rack" consisted of one pork chop!

Decent slightly out of town hotel base
  • + Very good hotel for our needs (we were there for a hockey tournament) so just needed a base
  • – Rooms were supposed to be non smoking but smelt disgusting of smoke so were clearly not.
