D Ware Clean hotel,friendly nightstaff,ideally situated,but...

+ room was clean ,the night staff were very friendly and helpful, tram stops just out front taking you directly to the centre. Free internet access with their own computer in the bar.
- if you pay by credit card you are hit by a 4% extra charge not included when you reserve nor is it announced(very disappointing). beds were not the most comfortable and the walls of the room do need some polyfilla !

+ - Proximity to the park ...
- - Very noisy rooms - The receptionist was disturbingly insisting. - We could not get any refund for our second night when we decided we were unsatisfied enough to quit the hotel The overall impression matches the missing "A" on the hotel blinking front : A*LBORG. Feels fake.

+ Reasonable prices, nice location
- small noisy rooms
MikeW Great Hotel...

+ Aalborg was the first option available in the "non-hostel" class of hotels (price-wise) and I was surprised by the quality. Great location near trams and a nice park that is probably fantastic in the spring / summer. Very friendly staff that provided some good info on tourist spots as well as areas specific to locals. I will return to this hotel for sure...
- The rooms in Europe are always much smaller and you'll need to keep that in mind if you are from the US like me. The shower was too small to move around in and there was some general grime in the bathroom, but it was not excessive. Walls are thin.
Alan Pollock Very friendly, helpful staff & a pleasant park right across the ro

+ Richard was very helpful as our evening 'concierge' and gave us very good advice on where to find dinner restaurants and other needs, like the benefit of taking a taxi to the airport.
- Location. Actually, we hoped to go to more museums, so the hotel is well situated for that and we loved the park being so close, but we were surprised at how far we were from the train station, which is how we arrived, but we did end up walking a lot and the tram system was also useful once we were able to learn more about it. We just had not prepared ourselves sufficiently about the Amsterdam layout.
Pao Meader Good for budget, noisey

+ The Hotel was cleean and the staff was very pleasent. They did have a "real" full bed, which in other hotels I have been given a room with two regular beds pushed together. The Bed was also very firm. My room, and I'm guessing others on the first floor, have some access to the wireless internet offered downstairs at no charge.
- The walls were so thin that other peoples conversations could be heard clearly in the next room. The toilet was posistioned so close to the shower as to make sitting on it a difficult task. There is a school near by from which children can be heard as early as 9am. I have a great tolorance for noise, but it was to much to sleep through. Personally, I believe I would be happier paying an aditional 20-30 Euros and having a room with more sound proofing.

+ Cheap. They blocked money on my card, then told me it wasn't authorised and I had to pay cash. So I did. The I checked my card and they had blocked an amount, which they then blamed the card company. Card company balmes merchant. Either way, they MY SPENDING MONEY. What a lovely time, broke, in Amsterdam!
- BEWARE- They will block the quoted amount for your stay from your card. Upon arrival, if you wish to pay by card, they will request +4%. If you decline, the blocked amount will not be realeased for another 7 days. If you are on a budget, this may cause you a BIG PROBLEM. It is a scam.
Anonymous Non-inspiring low-budget accommodation

+ Friendly staff
- The room was definitely not 3-star, even for Amsterdam standards. I have stayed in more than a dozen dfiferent hotels in Amsterdam an I would not recommend this one. The room was tiny, the tram in front of the window is noisy . Shower and toilet needed refurbishment/renovation. The whole place makes a non-maintained impression. The location is also too far away from the center for tourists (I'm none)
Dmitry Stepanchenko The good hotel to spend the nights after walks across Amsterdam
8.4
+ The friendly personnel, new modern interior of rooms, cleanliness in rooms
- Once the cleaner has forgotten to close a room after cleaning during our absence! Small, inconvenient, dangerous bath
Elizabeth Fantastic base for a few days in Amsterdam
7.8
+ The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I arrived at 6am, 9 hours before my official check in time. The young man at reception made me an expresso coffee and sat me in the breakfast room where I worked on my computer. they made a special effort to get my room ready by 9.30am. Thanks to all for great hospitality and humour!
- This is a basic hotel, but all you need as a base to see the sights of Amsterdam.

+ Le quartier sympa : bien situé dans la ville, avec le marché tous les matins. Personnel vraiment agréable. Good !
- Peu de choses à dire : Notre baignoire trop étroite, quelques nuisances de briut avec le tram... encore que ...
Henk Good hotel but try and book a room at the back
7.2
+ Good transport links; nice bar on ground floor; pleasant location; clean and comfy
- rooms at front can be noisy as street is busy at night; bath tiny
Paul Justifies 3-stars rank

+ Good location - near tram station Centuurbaam on a relatively quiet street. I lived in a twin room which was (together with bathroom) unexpectedly large for such a small hotel.
- Very small corridors and dangerous spiral stairs. Room keys are given without checking the guest's identity. Very loudly you hear your neighbours open and shut the doors.
Michael Heyman Lovely place, great value
8.4
+ Great location. Friendly staff. Good wi-fi. Good value. Good golly!
- Rooms are fairly small... But not so bad...
James Carmichael Very enjoyable stay and will definitely stay there next time
9.2
+ Loved the space and quality of my double room. Excellent places for drinking and eating or just chilling out. Staff were very friendly and the price of the room was excellent value for money.
- None, but it would be nice to have a stand up shower in the future.
Ines Lopez Nice and economic
7.4
+ Nice hotel, surprisingly cheap for the average in Amsterdam. Located in a quiet and beautiful area, not in the centre but opposite a nice park and close to Vondel Park and the museums. The best transport was undoubtedly the bicycle, which you can rent at the hotel at a good price, and move around the city in a comfortable, time-saving and benefitial way. Otherwise, there are also trams to the centre.
- Like other reviews have already pointed out, there is a big difference between the twin and double room, for a small difference in price. I definitely recommend the twin, as its quality and in particular its size is enormously better than the double.
Bobbee Overall a nice hotel in a Great Location

+ Really appreciated the price, location, ensuite in room, and free wi-fi.
- Bathroom was very awkward, as was the location of some of the switches in the room

+ baby cot.nice and peacefully neighbourhood not far away from a center-(good for family with small child, like us:))park in front of the hotel.first night we were staying in room on ground flour and it was blowing under windows, but they changed room on our request.
- small rooms, small and unhandy bathtub.
Valerie Almira-Smith Good hotel, great for a week-end - no frills, a bit expensive
4.6
+ location was lovely near a park and close to trams. quiet hotel, friendly staff, nice breakfast. bikes to rent 8 euros / day
- very small rooms, toilet practically in the room (no intimacy!)bed very uncomfortable.
Anonymous Decent stay

+ We had a beautiful spacious room. We very much liked the location.
- We had wanted a double bed but those rooms are too tiny so we ended up with two twins pushed together which made for a bigger room but my husband and I were quite uncomfortable sleeping on those beds as it was near impossible for us to sleep together without falling through the cracks... We had beautiful big windows but they looked out onto the patio where the garbage dump was, which was noisy when the staff was throwing out trash. For those reasons I think the room should have been at a discounted price.
Sergio Silva Cheaper rate, but with a great quality!
7.8
+ Very helpfull staff.
- At the 4th floor the wireless internet signal is very poor, impossible to connect, but its very good in the bar. There's no safe in the room. The room is kindly tight, so for a couple, just 1 middle luggage per person

+ Good location. All major sights and the city center are within walking distance or can be reached by tram.
- Rooms extremely small. Burn holes in the blanket. Corridor smelled like dope (although the consumption is forbidden in the hotel, many guests obviously don't care). Breakfast too expensive.
Anonymous Ok hotel
6.6
+ The room was clean.
- The walls were like paper, we could hear every single voice from the rooms next to us and also from the corridoor. In the evening there was no hot water.
Lucas Nice place, not so expensive but need to change some points
6.2
+ the bed is big
- their is no room services the bed is very hard, too hard!! the matress is hurting bad isolation between the rooms, the lady cleaner is speaking laud at the office, some of you could be more smiling, frankly!

+ A nice, quiet location for those who know their way around Amsterdam. Staff was very helpful. Good breakfast, although not a diverse selection.
- The bar was unattended most of the time and a bit expensive. A bit too far to walk to the dam area-- use the #25 tram.

+ location was good
- Strict cut off time for breakfast, door closed at 10.05! Staff not to pleasant. Extra credit card charge 4%. Room was very small and bed tilted to one side. No shower curtain in shower which caused bathroom to be soaked.

+ Great deal (we paid 50€), convenient location (15 mn to centraal station by tram), not really in the center but De Pijp is really a laid back, relax neighborhood. The night receptionnist was really pleasant and helpful. Good choice of channels on the TV. Great breakfast, which was included. Would definitely recommend for quality vs price => I already paid double that in Amsterdam, only to get half as much...
- Really small rooms, this hotel is just to sleep in! Windows not too easy to manipulate. Day receptionist almost rude...

+ In a quiet spot opposite the sarphatipark, but right beside a couple of tram stops and walking distance from cafes & restaruants.
- Room was a bit on the small size, but it is amsterdam after all, and at the price i can't really consider it a minus.

5.4
+ Reasonably priced mid range hotel close to Amsterdam City Centre.
- The double room was quite small. Ourselves and friens had booked two doubles and they were both the same, two sides of the bed were not accessible (the top and one side). Additionally there was a Rentokil bug trap on the floor behind one of the curtains.

+ Very good and various breakfast. Very kind people. 10 minutes walk from center.
- single room was little (anyway clean and sufficiently comfortable).

6.8
+ i loved the location.staff were friendly and helpful.
- my single room was very small,i had a view of a wall. The noise from the elevator plus the hallway was loud at all hours. There was a problem with a drainage pipe in bathroom also which caused a stink every time the adjacent room used their toilet.

+ very well placed, clean and quite calm, small but comfortable room for a 4 days vacation...
- no chance to get a "non smoking room", no chance to exclude breakfast from payment (only night payment)

+ Very clean room and well appointed en suite. Staff very pleasent and helpful
- Only slight drawback is distance to Centrum but standard of hotel compensates for this.

+ - Good staff, friendly service
- - No air conditioning - Quite small rooms - I would expect more with 100 ¤ per night - VERY BIG MINUS: extra 4 % charge when using credit card

+ Location is excellent
- The price is quite high for the quality given. However as the room has been booked only few days in advance and covered saturday-sunday in June it is probably ok...

+ Friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast with a lot to choose from. Also the bar was good. Location of the hotel was good, just opposite Sarphati park and in walking distance to both Heineken brewery and Rijksmuseum. Trams 25 and 3 stopped outside the hotel if you got tired of walking.
- Very small rooms eventhough we had a double room. Noise from the corridor was really disturbing whenever people was passing and particular night times ( and we are both young people and usually aren´t bothered about stuff like that... )

+ The receptionists were all courteous and the young lady on duty when I first arrived was exceptionally nice and helpful to me.

+ Desayuno incluido en el precio. Facilidades para la estancia con niños.
- No es centrico pero se puede tomar el tranvia al centro en una parada cercana.

6.8
+ The service was good, location was good. Breakfast included and not bad. Our friends got the quadruple room for their family, and it was large enough for everyone.
- the room was smaller then expected. We have 2.5 year old twins and there wasn't room for two baby beds, nor did the hotel have more then one available. I couldn't stand in the shower because it was too narrow. Parking is on the street and expensive. Bring lots of euro coins!
Yogev Ezra
6.0
+ The rate was only 41 Euro for night (in March), and that is a PRIVATE room (not a dorm) with PRIVATE bath and toilet, INCLUDING citytax & breakfast, and in the center of Amsterdam, which is as cheap as you can get. The hotel also has free computer with internet access and free wireless internet in the rooms (you have to ask the reception how to use it, though). I don't smoke, and even though they didn't have a non-smoking room available, my "smoking" room was very fresh, clean and did not smell.
- The hotel is very narrow: entrance and reception rooms are narrow, computer corner is just a hole under stairs (only for 1 person; luggage is also stored there), elevator is small and has no inner door (not secure) and it's cleaned every morning so you have to use stairs; the stairs are very steep & narrow so you can fall (especially when you carry luggage). Breakfast is served in the bar. For 41 Euro you will get the smallest room possible which is barely enough for 1 man (about 1,5x3 meters).
