Reviews

The following independent reviews were entered by guests after their stay at the hotel.

Anonymous Clean and friendly, nice quiet street
6.6
+ Rooms were clean and cleaned every day, rooms looked newly painted & renovated, service was friendly, breakfast was good, wifi was free and worked well. Location was pretty good too, a bit of a walk from the centre, say 15-20 mins, but it was worth it to be in a nice quiet street. If you have a bike it's no drama at all (and you should in Amsterdam).
- Room was pretty small but this is pretty standard for Holland - and not just for tourists! It was expensive too, but I think this was because we were there over New Year's Eve and their regular prices looked much more reasonable.
Anonymous Great Experience with Acro Hotel
7.0
+ Room is cozy and comfy. Breakfast is well spread. Staff are helpful. Most importantly, free wifi access .. Love it! The very classic spiral staircase leading you to the rooms is my favorite!
- Traveller like me love to start my daily activities early.. Suggest hotel to serve breakfast earlier than 7.30 am. The stairs at the entrance of the hotel is steep , it's challenging to carry heavy luggage up or down.
Hugh Good deal, Great location, Nice hotel, Small room
9.4
+ Terrific location, near major squares and museums. Quiet street, half-block from tram stop.
- My room was the second smallest room I've ever had in a European hotel. Well designed, but SMALL! (Also one of the smallest in this hotel, I think.)
Luke Halls Good, reliable accommodation
8.2
+ Excellent location, right next to Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the luxury shopping street PC Hoofdstraat. Nice ´typical´Amsterdam building.
- The desk was under a sloping roof and it was therefore impossible to actually sit at it. Rather pointless having it in the room! Perhaps slightly warm as it was a hot day but with the window open it wasn´t too bad.
David Wormuth Excellent hotel close to things, safe and secure enjoyed visit
9.8
+ This hotel was very clean and well kept up. The front staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We loved the little bar area We enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Srinivasan J Decent but not the best.
6.0
+ Located near Ledseplein is good. But you would need to take a tram to go to Dam square which is a lot more happening. Decent beds and amenities.
- The room was extremely cold and the heater was not working. Additionally, the hot water takes a long time to get to your pipe! Its not exactly the cheapest as well.
Peter Smith A gem that is positioned right next to the Rijksmuseum.
7.6

+ Cheap, easy to get to, and great staff.
- Internet didn;t work, had to spend extra money on it the unit in the lobby. Bathroom was very small and as it was the only one on the ground floor, I could hear quite clearly all the noise from people coming in and going out.
James Wiggins Clean but very Warm July in Amsterdam
7.4
+ Clean, clean hotel
- If the weather is hot, your room is even hotter!
David Denniston Well situated hotel
7.2
+ Staff friendly, hotel very clean, breakfast excellent, bar pleasant, location first rate.
- Rooms a little cramped, stairs VERY steep and lift too small, and not all that cheap for a "budget" hotel (although probably reasonable by Amsterdam standards and given the location)
M K MUSTAFA Clean, simple and affordable - but a bit warm in summer
7.6
+ Simple and affordable. Good service - fast check-in/out. Excellent speed of FREE wifi connection and clean bathroom.
- Small room but it's common in Amsterdam. Room is also a bit warm and could be uncomfortable in summer in the absence of Air-Cond. It would be great if management invests a little bit more on the installation of a wall fan in the room.
Rudolf Schmidt Calm and central situated Hotel to explore Downtown of Amsterdam
8.4
+ The reception gentlemen were very helpfu lwith advice and information. The car park solution in the Olympic Stade was really good and easy to find with the help of the receptionist. Although really small the rooms were sufficiant and calm for a city tour of 4 days for one person/room. Would be difficult with two persons.
Paul Duval A decent budget hotel with a great location.
7.4
+ Can't beat the location for Museums and dining. Affordable price. Wireless connection was good. I also enjoyed the breakfast.
- Room layout was a bit diffult for 2 trying to shower and get dressed. A bit too cramped with narrow passages.
Marcelo Nice city trip hotel
7.4
+ Its good located to principle transports and the city center, restaurants and bars. It was clean over all and people were friendly.
- The rooms are very small (Double bedroom).
Lucila
6.6
+ Great location. Close to the museums. A short walk away from the nightlife.
- A big school group was staying at our hotel. They were at times noisier than one would hope. Our room was located just by the place to store luggage so we could here each time someone would go in to leave or take their suitcases.
Bridget Dempsey Good location & not overpriced
8.0
+ Good location, clean, comfy bed & value for money (€270 for two people for 3 nights including weekend)
- Rooms look like they are stuck in the 80's, could do with a lick of paint

+ location is good. it is near the p.c hoofstraat. and it is in the museum plain. 3 minute walk to museums and casino, 7 minutes walk to the leidseplain. very good staff. breakfast is okey. very quite hotel, and everything is same with the things you see on hotels.nl and acro's own web page
- the price was little high. elevator was slow. but most hotels in amsterdam do not have elevator. so it was ok. breakfast finishes at 10:00 am. so it is usually hard to wake early.

+ The staff are friendly and cheerful. The room is large, clean and comfortable.
- The computer for the internet was not available.
Max Good deal/location but very basic
7.2
+ Great deal, great location, competent staff
- Very cramped rooms and bathroom and tiny elevator with dangerous missing door between people and "moving wall." No remote in room -- says "contact reception" but means a trek downstairs so did not do it.
Ana Pardo Great deal in good location, but check the heat!
8.0
+ Decent beds, neat building, great neighborhood. Helpful desk staff. Very clean.
- Our room was freezing! Not just cold, or chilly, but freezing! This wouldn't have mattered much, except that after 8 p.m. or so everything but the prostitutes and the hash bars were closed, so my husband and I spent more time than expected in our room. Please check on the heater in room 107.
Anonymous A nice central-located hotel nearby the Rijkmuseum

Zoi Mylona Very positive experience!
9.2
+ The heating and the quilts were very warm mainly after a whole day of walking in the rain and in this typical cold of Amsterdam.
- Not really sound proof. We could hear everything through the walls.
Olga Nedbaieva Friendly and comfortable
8.8
+ functional, good breakfesk, real beatiful bar
Iker Zulaica Hernández Good but not perfect. See why...
7.8
+ Location is superb. Price (rates) are really competitive. Overall the hotel rating is very good.
- A couple of details. The internet connection (2 euro per 30 min.) does not work properly. I could only surf the web 10 min. out of my 30 min. before the computer slowed down and froze. I really recommend to change or fix up your computer. That is very annoying for customers not so much due to the money they spend but for the inconvenience of not being able to surf the web. Second, the main entrance to the hotel. The automatic door opens and closes in a funny way. When it's cold outside this is not a minor problem as you may be waiting in the lobby or having a beer in the bar and the cold air enters the hotel in a very unpleasant way. Not to mention the noise of the door. Finally, and most importantly the central heat. The room is really cold when it cold outside. My heating was working at the highest (5 point heat) but I couldn't heat up the room.
Kenneth Neufeld Affordable Hotel Near Museums
7.8
+ Good location, clean, friendly staff.
- Stairs are pretty steep, room was quite small.
Clemens Excellent value for money
8.6
+ A decent hotel for a low budget (at least in winter) that would actually be called a hotel outside Amsterdam as well, something that cannot be said about most of the offers in the below 3-star segment
- none
Adriaan Riksen Nice budget hotel
6.6
+ Close the the Rijksmuseum and the city centre
- Lots of high stairs and aone small elevator
Alina Tudorie OK for young people on a budget, avoid if noises won't let you sleep
7.4
+ Bed Size, ok, even if my husband is 186cm Breakfast was a real plus, various types of food, quite unexpected
- walls thickness, really a problem if you are not a hard sleeping person - first night was a shock, we could hear all the couples from nearby rooms talking and ...
