+ Very comfy beds, and for the city, the rooms were very large, very clean, The staff was very eager to help if we needed anything, the free hot drinks were nice to have plus the lobby was a nice place to hang out if you wanted a place to chill for an hour

- a bit pricey, and a bit noisy at night. they supplied ear plugs which was fortunate for us. Only other down side is though the bed was comfy it was 2 doubles put together, it would have been nicer if it was a full bed.

- chambre minuscule. Bruits de rue importants notamment le tramway. Escalier raide sans ascenceur. Pas de parking. il faut bien parler anglais.

+ In general the staff were very friendly, especially the lovely German girl at the front desk who went out of her way to help us. Much appreciated. Overall the hotel was in a great location, with a reasonable price and including a great breakfast. Quality Tea (Lipton & Pickwick in assorted flavours) and coffee available all day which is a bonus if you're coming in tired and need a pick-me-up. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff worked hard to keep it so. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel for service, location, overall quality & cleanliness.

- The actual room was on the fourth floor (with no lift) to the front of the hotel. It was very noisy at night and it was difficult to sleep. Also the room was absolutely tiny with twin beds ... the room is really only suitable as a single room. MAKE SURE TO STATE THAT YOU WANT A ROOM AT THE BACK OR ONE OF THE BIGGER ROOMS. The small rooms are not big enough for couples. You can't move in the room and it is quite uncomfortable. After the first night we asked to change room but we were not permitted because they said all the rooms were booked out. (Later that night a lone backpacker walked in off the street while we were drinking tea and he got the VACANT bigger room next door to us at the same price we paid!!) We were really annoyed at this because he ended up staying a few nights ... when they had told us that because we were staying another 3 nights we couldn't change as ALL OTHER BIGGER ROOMS were booked out. Go figure!! In the end, the room was the only problem we had ... everything else was great. I would definitely recommend the hotel but would stipulate that you book a bigger room or one at the back if you are not travelling alone.

- Extremely noisy rooms (tramstop right under the window) +4% extra charge when paying with card. They authorize the card that is used for booking 2 days before arrival. It means that they freeze the total amount of the stay on the card and it can take a week after check-in to release it. (prepare to have extra money on your account)

- The WiFi access didn't reach upstairs to our room on the 3rd floor. The front desk did lend me a cable so I could do an online class from my room.

+ very friendly and helpful staff. stylish and modern interior. delicious breakfast, great variety. central location, great connection to public transport.

- due to it´s central location it´s quite noisy at night. earplugs were provided for free though. that´s the only minus though, everything else was great.

+ Si trova in un' ottima posizione sia per passeggiare a piedi, usare i trasporti pubblici o andare in bici. A ridosso dei quartieri più belli della città; è molto pulito, carino, curato e accogliente. Silenzioso. Il personale è simpatico e disponibile. La nostra stanza al primo piano era perfetta! ottima e ricca colazione. Bravi!

- No lift, small stairway; dangerous garden area- slabs broken and wobbley,steep step to area, no fire escape through garden area. Not suitable for disabled; I have bad back and had to crawl up last flight of stairs (over 50 stairs) Rooms were noisy from outside traffic.

+ The Alp is only 3 or 4 stops from Dam Sq (on trams 13 and 14 to Bilderdijkstraat) and it drops you right outside the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were offered a welcome drink on arrival. The room was lovely and clean. The breakfast was fantastic and was a good start to the morning. There were small bottles of water and fresh fruit left for us everyday which I had never experienced before. There are 2 computers in the back that you can use and it has everything on it. I will be staying here again.

- The only thing I could fault was the shower, it was a little slippy and hard to get out of, i'd like to see a matt on the shower basin and a curtain instead of a door.

- streets are very loud in the first floor. the window did not close properly so cold cold air came in from outside. window could not be opened at all. street lamps shone into the room at night and the blinds did not help much.

+ The owners were extremely friendly and cordial. The hotel was very clean. The bathroom was nice and had a very good shower.The breakfast was quite good and plentiful.

- Too many steps to climb. No elevator. Not very comfortable. Bed was too low to floor and no desk in room. Room not very functional as there really was no place to put our suitcases and no flat surfaces to put our stuff on.

+ The staff was very friendly and the manager very helpful.Nice and comfortable rooms,good public transportation and access to the center,however a bit far.Not very expensive.

- Climbing the stairs was exhausting.Very tiring to get to any floor!The 4th floor btw had an awful smell but I guess that was only for a few days.If it wasn't,then it should be taken care of.If it wasnt for the smell and the stairs it would have been much better!

+ Grote kamer met balkon. Luxe douche. Uitstekend ontbijt.

- De douche begon vanzelf te lopen. Het bed kraakte en de twee helften schoven uit elkaar. De laminaatvloer van de kamers is gehorig, waardoor we de mensen boven ons 's nachts thuis hoorden komen en 's ochtends wakker werden doordat we ze hoorden lopen.

- Die steilen Treppen sind nicht für Reisende mit Handicap geeignet.Die Tram ist im Zimmer ständig etwas hörbar. Die Bezeichnung Pension mit Frühstück wäre zutreffender - weil kein Vergleich mit international üblichen Hotels möglich ist.

+ Schönes, kleines, sauberes Hotel. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet, das Zimmer gut, jedoch hatten wir es an der Straßenseite, somit war es auch sehr laut. Wir würden aber trotzdem das Hotel wieder nehmen, dann aber mit einem Zimmer auf der anderes Seite. Die Haltestelle der TRAM lag direkt vor der Tür, somit ist man in wenigen Minuten im Zentrum. Nettes Personal.

+ ontbijt was uitgebreid, vriendlijk personeel, ligging ok ten opzichte van de te bezoeken tentoonstelling; tram 3 en 12 stoppen voor de deur dewelke ons dus vlug naar de Jordaan of het centrum kon brengen. Zeker ok voor een nachtje. Je moet er natuurlijk de luxe van een 3 of 4 sterren niet verwachten maar alles was zeer netjes. Het betrof een zolderkamer op de achterzijde en hebben geen straatlawaai ondervonden . Welkomstdrank en fruit werden aangeboden bij inchecken, zelfs om 12 u s' nachts.

- geen lift (4de verdiep) kussens waren voor ons te hoog en sliepen op de sierkussenstjes die platter waren.

+ De ontvangst en de service was allerhartelijkst en gastvrij. Fijn dat ik een kamer aan de achterkant had. Midden in de stad, maar toch een oase van rust, heerlijk.

- Bij dit hotel kan ik geen minpunten opnoemen. De prijs is goed in verhouding met de accomodatie. (Maar dit is nog een pluspunt!)

+ We hebben genoten, het hotel ligt heel centraal, tram voor de deur. Leuke en vriendelijke ontbijtruimte,heerlijk ontbijtje. Zeer vriendelijke mensen, waarbij niets teveel is , Warme dranken en fruit 24 gratis.Comfortabele bedden en zeer schoon. We hebben ons plekje gevonden en zullen daar vaker gebruik van maken als we in Amsterdam zijn.
