For a stay in the historic heart of Amsterdam, the Ambassade Hotel is the right choice. Situated along the beautiful Herengracht canal, ten canal houses together make up this stylish hotel. On week days the breakfast is served from 07:00 to 11:00 h. and on the weekend from 07:00 to 11:30 h.
The hotel does not have a restaurant, but in the immediate vicinity you can find a wide variety of restaurants particularly in the Spuistraat and the area 9 straatjes.

Surroundings

Original gifts, cosy restaurants and secondhand clothing can be found in the 9 straatjes. These attractive streets, such as the Hartenstraat and Wolvenstraat, are close to the Ambassade Hotel. Another special find is the Begijnhof, between the Spuistraat and the Kalverstraat. After a visit to this 14th century court it is just a short stroll to the Dam square, which is surrounded by the national monument, the Nieuwe Kerk church, the royal palace and Madame Tussauds.

The room was really nice, big and recently renovated. The hotel is located in the city center, very close to all Amsterdam attractions. I really enjoied my stay there.

Simply put, this is a fabulous hotel.; - The only minus point is that we had to leave at the end of our stay!

The Ambassade is close to the tram stop, on a canal and was the perfect location for our night in the city. The staff were very friendly and the room was lovely. I would recommend it to anyone.

Anonymous Nice hotel, parking problems can be solved: 19 August 2010; 9.0; + very helpful and friendly staff; - parking in this area is a problem. Car-parks nearby takes 48 or 49€ /24h and 4 or 4,50/h. Car.parks at the outskirt of the town are much chaeper 15€/24h but it is not comfortable with luggage and children in the bus and on foot. Best alternative: the offer from the hotel : your car is taken from the hotel and brought back for 30€/24h and 2€/h we made good expience with this arrangement.

And the deal I got from Hotels.nl was awesome! I thought it was all just good advertising, but it was a great deal at a great hotel. If I ever go back to Amsterdam I will use this service to stay there again.; - The only negative thing that I can possibly say about this place was the lack of a parking lot. I don't think too many hotels in Amsterdam have their own parking lots but it would have made it perfect. There is street side parking in front of the hotel but it is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. And the parkhouse close by was not much different. I had to drive out of the city to a park and ride which was not that bad of a hassle.

The location was great, it was very clean, and the room was amazing (adorable and had a great view, too). The staff was great - very accomodating and helpful. They were able to book all of our activities for us so that we didn't have to stand in line anywhere. I've got nothing negative to say about my stay, and that's unusual for me! It was worth every penny!

T. eigentlich nicht verkehrstüchtig, entweder fehlen Bremse und/oder Klingel, Licht. Für einen kurzen Trip durch die Umgebung reichts aber trotzdem und ist's lustig. Der Preis von 15 Euro pro defektes Fahrrad (auch für's Kinderfahrrad) ist aber übertrieben. In der Innenstadt gibt's solidere Fahrradverleihe für weniger Geld.
