Surroundings

WestCord Fashion Hotel Amsterdam is located across from the World Fashion Centre, close to the Rembrandtpark. From the hotel it only takes 10 minutes to reach Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, the RAI Convention and Exhibition Centre and the bars of the Leidseplein. You can take tram 1 to reach the centre and the Central Station. The tram also stops close to the Vondelpark and at the Dam square.

Le petit déjeuner trop cher. Sinon l hotel est à 8 mn à pied de la station, 2 lignes de TRAMWAY la 1 et la 17 dessertent rapidement le centre ville en 20 mn .

Patricia Weekend shopping trip from the Fashion Hotel: 6 April 2010; 8.0; + The hotel only appears to be a year old and so everything is still very new and fresh. It is also conveniently located for arrival by car as it is on the Amsterdam ring you can reach all the touristy spots in around 10mins by the tram which was only 500m away from the lobby and approx 12euro for 48hrs. The staff were all very helpful; - The Skyybar in the hotel on the 10th floor closes at 1am which was a bit disappointing if you wanted one last drink once you had came back from the city. The shower pressure was poor and the ensuite bathroom door is clear so be sure you're comfortable with your room partner watching you shower!!

Justin Funky hotel for those that don't mind walking or tram ride to centre.: 8 March 2010; 8.2; + Amazing discount for out of season visit. Very modern and stylish hotel, clean and comfortable. Free swimming pool and gym. Tram stop 5 minutes walk away with direct links to centre (5 minute ride). Great shower. Free refridgerated tray. Right next to motorway so easy to drive to.; - Out of centre - probably a 15-20 minute walk from Leidseplein but too cold to walk in February! Sauna was 7.50 per person. No music channel on TV. Parking for hotel cost around 20 euros per 24 hour period.

Relatively good value, although we got a good deal because the hotel is still under construction.; - Exorbitant prices for bar and restaurant, plus poor quality of meals served. DO not bother - eat elsewhere.

Not for families. we had to cover the bathroom (glass doors/windows)with newspaper for my 12 year old daughter to be able to take a bath.; - Could not charge our cameras, cell phone, laptop, PSP... Current in the bathroom was according to them only for shavingmachines??!! We could charge them in other hotels in Europe though. Take your own adapter. They do not have that either.

I booked this hotel for a business trip. I chose it over hotels that had breakfast included, but only had Internet in the lobby. I needed wireless internet in my hotel room, and this hotel was supposed to have it. I had to sit in the hallway to receive any Internet. The woman at the reception desk (in the evening) said the technician would have a look at it. But the woman in the morning said it won't help, if a technician looked at it. She suggested we could switch rooms to see, if it helped. First of all, we had already unpacked. Second of all, another couple came just this moment who were located at a completely different location in the hotel, closer to entrances etc, and they also did not have reception. â¢ Sauna: it is promoted, but then costs 7.50 Euro! â¢ Local transport: it was mentioned on the website that the hotel is close to a tram station. Not true, Surinameplein is a bit to walk plus there is no sidewalk, so very dangerous with all the cars. â¢ Skybar: not open yet, so bar in lobby was always over crowded. Waiters were friendly and helpful, but one person was just not enough.

Want parkeren in Amsterdam is duur en kost tijd Snelle taxi service voor redelijke prijzen; - Op onze kamer 301 liep de wasbak niet door dit was vervelend. om 17.00 uur stonden de ontbijt resten nog op de vloer in de gang van de mensen die op hun kamer ontbeten hadden. Was geen prettig gezicht bij aankomst.

A. de Boer Geen aanrader.: 25 September 2011; 7.2; + hotel zag er netjes uit, personeel in lounge en bij het ontbijt waren zeer vriendelijk. ontbijt was uitstekend.; - rommelige ontvangst, baliepersoneel niet vriendelijk. we hebben twee nachten in het hotel geslapen in een kamer die vreselijk stonk,( rioollucht) ik heb hier tot twee maal toe iets over gezegd maar ik kreeg gewoon geen reactie.

Anonymous Fashion hotel, 2e verblijf: 18 September 2011; 7.0; + zwembad, nette kamer; - geen badjas in kamer, geen slippers om in zwemkledij naar zwembad te gaan. Tijdens uitchecken onderbroken feit dat receptioniste telefoon opneemt terwijl collegas dat ook konden. 1e verblijf (2weken hiervoor): water uit wasbak liep niet weg, handdoekrek zat los, kluis zat dicht bij binnenkomst en was niet te gebruiken.

Jolanda Al met al best duur...: 18 March 2011; 6.8; + Mooie kamer. Goede beveiliging d.m.v. pasjessysteem. Zonder pasje werkt de lift niet en iedere verdieping is ook afgesloten d.m.v. kaartlezers. Mooie badkamer met goed bad en heerlijke douche. Leuke sky bar bovenin.; - Menukaart, gehorig ventilatiesysteem in badkamer, erg hard bed. Tweepersoonsbed gevraagd, 2 losse bedden gekregen. Ontbijt was slecht voor de prijs die je ervoor betaald. Al met al ben je stiekem veel geld kwijt omdat je voor alles moet bijbetalen. Ontbijt (17 euro p.p), parkeergarage (25 euro), handdoeken in het zwembad, sauna....

Sehr hilfsbereites Personal.; - Frühstück und Tiefgarage sind für ein Hotel in Randlage einfach zu teuer. Ein Abfalleimer in der Toilette wäre auch nicht schlecht. Außerdem würde ich mir eine deutsche Tageszeitung zum Frühstück wünschen.

Bernardus Schulken Mooi hotel, locatie minder.: 26 December 2010; 8.0; + Prachtige kamers; - Met openbaar vervoer is het niet te doen om bij het hotel te komen. We moesten trap op trap af, lang donkere paden om bij het hotel te komen.

Anoniem Onverschillig personeel!: 31 August 2010; 4.8; + Locatie is een pluspunt, ook dat de kamers nieuw zijn (moeten ze wel goed bijhouden, zeker op badkamer anders verouderd het slecht); - Zeer onverschillig personeel, totaal niet bereidwillig. Als er iets is word je van de 1 naar de ander gestuurd, zonder dat het wordt opgelost. Waren om 8 uur 's ochtends al geen schone tafeltjes meer. Word dan alleen nieuw bestek neergelegd en kruimels van voorgangers blijven liggen. Steile toegangstrap naar hoofdingang, niet mogelijk voor mensen die slecht te been zijn.

Am stell Dam Schönes Hotel mit guter Anbindung an die Innenstadt: 30 August 2010; 6.4; + Räume sind sehr ruhig, trotz günstiger Verkehrsanbindung an Tram und Hauptstraße vor der Tür. Hoher Ausstattungsstand; - Hochwertige Ausstattung nicht ganz echt, teilweise schon mit deutlichen Gebrauchsspuren (Dusche war verkalkt und spritze in alle Richtungen, hab ich selbst in 5min repariert, wer wird deswegen schon gleich zur Rezeption gehen...) Die eine Seite des Hotels geht zu einer recht abgelegenen Straße in der man nachts nicht unbedingt alleine sein möchte. Über die Hauptstraße hat man sich aber immer sicher gefühlt. Nicht im Zentrum gelegen.
