The hotel is a bit far away from city center but cosy and nice
  • + We stayed in studio room type which was very spacious and comfortable.
  • There is no club sandwich in the hotel menues (even room service menu) which I think is a must . I think most of the guests expect to see it in the hotels which disappointed me. Also no hamburger. And there is no many places to go around for dine, because hotel is a bit far away you have to taxi or tram.
  • * my tip There is a nice park close to the hotel you can have a nice walk or have picnic. Nice to stay with kids because they can spend time in the park as well. Otherwise the hotel is bit far away from major attractions so as soon as you get there get a tram card from the loby and use number 7 to get to there center. The closest stop is 3 min walking.

To Stay - Great
  • * my tip Lovely park
  • (Older couples)
we enjoyed our stay in Arena hotel and highly recommend it to others
  • + Quite new hotel, nice and very responding staff, esp. the reception, headed by it's young and energetic manager, wonderfull service, tasty food, very comfortable and clean rooms (we received one of the studio rooms)
  • The hotel needs some investment here and there in petty maintanance issues.
  • * my tip The tropical museum right around the corner is an amazing place to visit. Worth the investment of at least half day. The same holds for the maritime museum not far away. Many nice resturants in the close neighborhood, about 700 meters around.

The space at the Arena Hotel is addicting
  • + Staff at the reception was very cooperative and nice in finding solutionts to not every day-problems. So much space in the Arena Hotel, it's makes one relax if you want it or not!
  • (Friends)
  • + Clean hotel, pleasant employees, quiet area, easy transport into centre, bikes for hire!
  • A bit out of town but nice to get away from the centre and see some of Amsterdam not normally visited.
  • (Other)
Well-designed rooms, nice location
  • (Young couples)
  • + Extravagant interior, romantic atmosphere, excellent service and catering
  • Thin walls, can hear people talking in the corridor, apparent dishonesty from housekeeping service, coats left in wardrobe after checking out cannot be found a day after there.

The Hotel which really made our holidays
  • + Very good location - almost in the middle of the park, with good communication to old Amsterdam and museums. Extremely friendly and polite staff, really looking after the guests. Great design features all around the hotel. Beautiful dinners, really good quality food and service in the restaurant.
  • no wireless internet - the one on tv is very slow and cumbersome. Having MacBook Air could not access all my mailboxes (hotels server does not support and does not open all attachments). Surprised being charged for breakfast...
  • (Travelling alone)
Nice hotel but closes the bar and restaurant for private parties
  • + Excellent design, very original
  • Private parties result in bar/restaraunt being closed
  • (Friends)
Nice atmosphere.
  • + Very nice luxurious atmosphere. Beautiful building. Tastful decoration.
  • small room, no bath
  • (Families with older children)
This hotel has a lot to offer
  • + interior, great design, beautiful room, great service, friendly staff, easily accessible by public transport
  • if any, it's not located downtown Amsterdam
  • (Travelling alone)
Far from center but nice place to stay
  • + Very Hyginic, god price quality. The rooms are absolutely clean and new.The hotel is beautiful with a wonderful night club for which I paid 18 euros for entry.
  • Not in center and check in time is 3 pm.
  • (Young couples)
Posh and Modern Hotel at nice price
  • + Excellent service. Staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent security level. Room is cosy, clean and neat; with comfy furniture and bed. Bathroom is spacious, with nice shower-gel and shampoo. Good restaurant of int'l cuisine at reasonable price. Will definitely book again.
  • Location not that central but hotel is close to metro station, thus still manageable to access to almost everywhere. No other negative comments.
  • (Older couples)
  • + the Service at reception was very good the Staff were exstremely pleasant.
  • We thought the Deluxe room that we booked was quite disappointing. On the web page it told us that it was minimalist, which was true but we felt it was mininalist in a cheap way not in a modern way.
  • (Young couples)
  • + restaurant, bar and discothéque in the same place.
  • no "colgate" in the bath room expensive parking the métallic cupboard Small TV
  • (Travelling alone)
  • + lobby/entrance is nice. rooms are chic
  • It is a maze if you are not in one of the wings near the lift. Size makes it unfriendly. Price is far too much considering the minimal amenities.
  • (Young couples)
  • + The actualy hotel is very very nice indeed, yet when you enter the room, you can see where the money has been spared.
  • Very far away from Amsterdam City centre, but there is a metro near.
  • (Young couples)
  • + great night-club!!! Cool people!
  • Bad shuffle-bus experience, all most got to late to the airport! Asked the hotel to send our postcards, no one has recieved them yet...
  • (Travelling alone)
  • + Nice and original building
  • small room with very few space to put your luggages.
  • (Other)
  • + - good location - pleasant staff - fency website
  • - too small room - questionable hygiene in the shower - somtimes birds in the rooms on te 2nd floor - no internet connections in the rooms
  • (Young couples)
  • + staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel is perfectly located if you want to be close to the center but not in the middle of all the buzz.
  • we were first checked into one of the new rooms which we found small and unpractical because of the stairs to get to the bed, and also it was at street level and very noisy if we wished to open the window (weather was great). But as soon as we asked for another room we were given a much bigger more spacious room which was lovely.
  • (Friends)
  • + A hotel with all the advantages of a top class night club right next door, a young chilled outlook toward all aspects of the stay, would definatly stay again!
  • A little way out of the city centre, about a 15 euro taxi ride, or public transport, some aspects of the hotel need a little attention but not many!
  • (Travelling alone)
  • + Great for visitors who which to escape the routine of standard business hotels.
  • Not recommended for the snobby business traveller
  • (Older couples)
  • + Staff were very helpful and the bar had a good friendly atmosphere. Our saves did not work initally but that was rectified very quickly.
  • We had two rooms - doubles. One was a good room - okay size and space. The other was 2 beds pushed together against a wall - with only 30cm space around the 2 free sides. The bed separated many times + room was very cramped for 2 people.
  • (Young couples)
  • + Very helpful staff and good service. Private parking lot, tram station round the corner - less than 10 minutes to Leidseplein.
  • Bathroom not quite the standard we hoped for.
