COZY HOTEL NEXT TO VONDELPARK
VERY NEAR VAN GOGH MUSEUM AND RIJKSMUSEUM, AND NEXT TO THE BEAUTIFUL VONDELPARK. VERY KIND AND HELPFUL RECEPCIONISTS. VERY CLEAN.
CHECK-IN TIME VERY LATE (3.00PM!!). THE BEDS AND THE PILLOWS WERE NOT VERY COMFORTABLE TO ME -VERY SOFT.

Classy hotel in lovely serene location. Excellent value.
Great location. Tram stops right outside the hotel. Lovely friendly staff. Nice rooms. Quiet, clean and classy area of Amsterdam and only a short tram ride into the city centre. Excellent value for money relative to other more central hotels. Will defo stay here again.
Limited breakfast options and much had run out later in the breakfast service but only a very minor annoyance.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Just go elsewhere for breakfast.
Good service, friendly staff, pleasant rooms, good location, good services in the hotel.
Quality of food at breakfast was below what you'd expect for the price.

Good value for your money at 75 for a double room a night,
the friendly service and the location of the hotel
the toilet in the room could do with a nice big cleaning job....it smelled bad (in room 227), or maybe a new one? It would have been nice if breakfast would have been included in the price. but with so many eationg possibilities around it's really not a problem,

avoid the breakfast!!
location is great. easy booking.
Small room not quite worth the price. DO NOT GET THE BREAKFAST! Just pop out for a way way better breakfast outside, don't be tempted by the easy stay-in breakfast, way overpriced and not at all good. Terrible coffee, unheard of in a country of great cafes. If you are more than 2 people, see the room before signing on.

Helaas niet meer aan te raden!
Goede lokatie naast het Vondelpark. Goede tramverbindingen.

A very nice holiday
A lovely situated hotel.Near the city centre.A lovely building.People in hotel very nice and friendly and helpful.
For the price I paid the room was very small and poor value.Breakfast at e10 each was expensive.

I would definitely book this hotel again next time in Dam.
Great staff and great location. Nice rooms. Perfect for the price.
No roomservice, Needed ice en the evening, because the temp was hot on the room, which was located directly under the roof.

Great location for museum nerds
Great location, just a block from the tram but still quiet, nice interior and the staff was helpful and friendly
construction next door-not much you can do about that-they wanted an outrageous amount for breakfast-just go to a bakery instead and save 20 euros

room deffo not worth the money breakfast is not included in the price, its more of a B&B than a hotel, very small rooms, so dont be dissapointed,

not really satisfied
personnel was friendly and kind
the room was by far worse than expected by looking at pictures on internet. Television was not working. telephone was not working (and was replaced. A squeezed insect was on the wall when I arrived and still there when i left; cleaning service forgot my door open all day (I found it open when i returned in the evening). Reception forgot a wake up call..

Pleasant stay, nice area.
Nice place right next to the Vondelpark, top floor room had very nice view of this. Hot water, tea and coffee facilities and a decent bed. Tram runs directly outside to the centre every 10 minutes. Nice helpful staff and 24 hour access made for a good stay.
Not really any complaints bathroom maybe a bit small but did the job.

great location, friendly staff
Very friendly helpful staff. Great location next to Vondel Park and only 5 mins walk from the museums. No 2 tram stops right in front of the hotel, great for access to the centre of town.
Expensive breakfast if not included - go to one of the cafes nearby.

Perfect Boutique Hotel
This hotel was recommended by a friend who travels to Amsterdam regularly. It was perfect for our needs. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The woman who prepares/serves the breakfast was just lovely. We felt very safe and well cared for at the Atlas. Thanks for everything. Lori Proops.

Charming Hotel in wonderful location with small rooms
Probably the best location (quiet and beautiful place bordering Vondelpark and still close to Leidse plein) for a visit in Amsterdam; friendly and helpful staff; cosy athmosphere
very small rooms

Clean, great location
Location was great; right beside the No.2 Tram and the VondelPark. Hotel was nice and clean, front desk staff very helpful. Bike hire was available at very competitive rates.
Rooms were a little small, but fine

Memorable stay in Amsterdam
I was stranded in Amsterdam an extra day because of an airline problem. I needed another hotel room for the night so I returned to the Atlas Hotel to ask if they had an available room. Unfortunately, they did not but they called their sister Hotel blocks away and found me a 4 star room at a affordable price. After finding me a room they transported me by taxi to the hotel at their expense! That is what I call service!

Staff were perfect. Welcoming, efficient and extremely helpful. The location made it easy to access all areas of Amsterdam either on foot or via tramway. We would definitely consider returning for another stay.
The room was very warm with only a fan for cooling, provision of air-conditioning would be be a welcome addition. A mini-fridge to keep thirsty guests' water/squashes cold would also be a bonus.Too many stairs for disabled.

very quiet, just around the museum area, convenient to travel to the museums.
too expensive, I spent about 150EURO for a "superior room" which is very, very small(2 people can hardly turn around in that room)..without breakfast..

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent Bath tub a bonus! Location next to park brilliant Got a good late deal on tariff
TV in room did not work only found out when it was inconvenient to get it sorted No plug in wash basin, and bath plug did not quite fit so water gradually seeped away!

Great location. Good service. Despite previous reviews I thought the breakfast was excellent and good value.
The room was a little on the small size. No air conditioning although a portable fan was supplied

Pretty and beautiful house near Vondelpark. Tram "at the door". Very quiet and cosy.Pleasant decoration and greedy and copious breakfast. Personnel pleasant and available.
Room "underground" without view et very dark. Taps of the shower and the wash-hand basin are too old and not thermostatics and the board of the WC's bassin is moving.

Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. Great location. Tea/coffee facilities in room - unsual for Europe but much appreciated. Good breakfast.
Small room. Bedside light didn't work. Needs mosquito screens at the windows, I was eaten alive!

Wonderful location ( straight out of the door & into the beautiful Vondelpark ). Nice & quiet but only a short distance from Amsterdam centre.Everything was spotlessly clean & Staff were friendly & very helpful. We will recommend this hotel & very likely stay there again.A very pleasant stay, thank you.
Room may have been a little on the small side for larger people who don't go out, but for us it was excellent.Very difficult to find anything negative to say.

Within walking distance of canal district, museums, Vondel Park, etc. Nicely decorated, friendly and knowledgeable staff, bikes on site. Delicious breakfast, unfortunately not included. I would stay here again. Nice neighborhood and very close to tram stop to the center of the city. Lots of restaurants in the area easily accessible at the end of the day.
Sometimes we could smell cigarette smoke in our room, (I think it traveled up the stairs and under the door). Cigarette smoking in general all over Amsterdam, is excessive especially at meals in restaurants. A non smoking area would be a great first step in making the city more comfortable for non smokers. As well, within the room, more hooks, towel racks or shelf space would be very useful.

9.2
cordiality at check in/check out. quite high (quality+variety of buffet) vs price ratio for breakfast. Quiet location (the hotel is not on a main traffic street, but is 100 m away from public transportation and it is anyway in the main museums part of town).
No free internet, wireless available, but to be paid separately

Great pleasant hotel, with kind service and tastful design. Located few TRAM stops from the main center and 15 minutes ride from the central station itself. If you are pre-ordering ask for the room at the top floor so you will be able to enjoy the scenary as well.

The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. When we complained about the noise from the room next door we were moved straight away. The location of hotel is excellent.
The double bed (which I had requested) consisted of two matresses put together and two single quilt covers. This was most uncomfortable.

Clean property, friendly staff, 1 min walk to #2 tram and VondelPark...say Hi to Atlas the cat when you stay
In this day and age, free Internet WiFi service should be included - it's not.

Great neighborhood. Close to Museums and Tram and Vondel Park which is lovely. Very quiet area yet centrally located. Some nice restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. Nice staff. Wireless internet is convenient. Nice TV. Good heat and ventilation. Beds were OK.
Did not vacuum well. Moldy in the shower/bathtup. Tiny room for 3 people and tiny bathroom. The orange and red decor was hard on the eyes. Not enough closet or drawer space to live comfortably for a week. Should have included breakfast for the price.

I loved the location, just around the corner from Vondel Park and two blocks from the Stedelijk Museum/Van Gogh Museum/Rijksmuseum complex. Easy tram transportation to anywhere. Room was comfy and, though small, larger than I expected, with great water pressure and a nice garden view.
Did get a few bites, as some others have mentioned, but I think it was from mosquitos, not bedbugs, based on where I got them and because there are no screens in the windows and I like to keep the windows open. I didn't see screens in Amsterdam anywhere at all.
Leonora Galletti - 2007-10-18

Beautiful neighborhood with many good restaurants within walking distance. Extremely good access to transportation. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean.
The only negative comment I can make is that the room charge was too expensive for its size.
D. Kato - 2007-09-30
5.2
Quiet region, but noise from other rooms (can hear shower, TV). Somewhat psychedelic decor, pink and violet. Comfortable bed, no bed bugs as in other reviews. Instant coffee and tea in room, but milk was not replaced after the first night.
Internet connection supposedly included, but did not work for Macintosh; personnel unhelpful. Promises to resolve this by one person not kept, by another deflected (basically: that's your problem, resolve it by calling some number etc.). Took largest room (224) but it was still rather small (no space to store suitcases but the floor, blocking access to table & chairs).
