+ A beautiful, relaxing atmosphere and wonderful staff made this a great experience. With everything included, such as minibar, movies and downstairs bar complimentary this was an excellent deal, and the hotel is right in the centre of the city. Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Amsterdam for any occasion.

+ Very nice staff, free minibar, free breakfast and beverages in the lobby including alcoholic beverages. Makes you feel very relaxed and able to mingle with other guests.
- Wish they had better bread in the breakfast table. A simple french baguette would do :-)
J Smith Very nice

+ Free bar, lots of snacks, slippers etc in bedroom all made it a very pleasant stay where you felt you were in something more personal than a hotel without feeling intruded upon. Breakfast is nice and the staff very friendly.
- No restaurant or room service meant you couldn't have an evening in if you had had a busy day at work
Judy Herzig-Marx Small boutique hotel centrally located in Amsterdam

+ Free drinks in room, free snacks including wine, beer and alcohol Nicely decorated Very comfortable bed Excellent location, helpful desk staff
- Room not as clean as expected, carpet dirty, bathroom floor wasn't washed while we were in room. Breakfast: fruit salad winey, old. Would have been nice to serve Dutch typical food like pancakes for breakfast Internet: we just came from a less expensive hotel that had totally free internet in the room
ARNAUD Good quality hotel

+ for over-all value this hotel is worth the stay, details need to be factored in such as free mini bar and refreshments in the lobby. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and it is always great.

+ The hotel staff were extremely friendly and particularly helpful at pointing out local places to visit and eat at. The hotel maintainence was outstanding and extremely comfortable
- No bath in the bedroom - which for someone with a broken leg made showering quite difficult

+ Staff are really helpful and genuinely couldn't do enough for us. Location is perfect and I really have no fault. It was lovely after spending day walking to come back and chill in lounge with a nice glass of wine! It is pricey but I think thats the norm in Amsterdam

+ We enjoyed the breakfasts. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. Having a free minibar in the rooms is an excellent idea. It was nice to have free drinks, coffee/tea in the lobby after a long day of walking in town. Service at Banks Mansion is quite good.
- The fly we noticed on morning enjoying the items on the buffett but when we warned the staff they quickly replaced some of the food. The rooms facing the canal are noisy. If you want quiet rooms, request a room in the back of the building which is what we did after our first night.

- Expensive. Gentleman who greeted us very brisk..... Rooms very warm, t.v was hard to work.. Room had not been checked before we came in...

+ Was provided a free upgrade to a "canal" room. Double windows virtually eliminated sound. Great location, within walking distance of major museums. Breakfast was nice (cooked/cold meats, eggs, fruit, cereals). "Free" drinks, TV and internet nice, but not worth high room price. Rooms nicely appointed.
- Rooms VERY small (compared to cheaper places like Barbizon Palace or Golden Tulip Centre). Constantly heard neighbor's TV in my bathroom. Hot water went out on the last day - was not offered discount (but did not ask for one). Overall nice place, but not worth the high price. Won't stay here again.

+ The staff were very friendly, and the room was very stylish. Unlike many hotels we have stayed at, it was very quiet at night when the windows were closed. Breakfast was good and the restaurant never seemed too busy.
- The original room we booked was too small but we were offered another larger room with no hassle. The snacks at the self serve bar should be covered up as they are sitting out for hours sometimes.

+ Great location beside the flower market. Professional and friendly staff. Clean comfortable and welcoming.
- The rooms are much too small. Our room 202 was barely big enough to move around in.

- A bit too noisy because of the tramway !

+ Complimentary lounge with snacks and beverages were a huge plus. Breakfast also excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, and rooms comfortable. We would definitely stay here again
- There is no real restaurant and room service very limited. Also a number of the rooms are smoking rooms and very unpleasant-smelling. Would have liked a room with a bath; most have only showers (albeit extremely comfy ones!)

+ Very friendly and helpfull staff, excellent food and drink in a nice quite atmosphere. A great location close to the city centre and near the flower market, the view was fantastic from our room though I know not all rooms had this. The free TV channels were great and I will reccomend it to anyone who wants quality, value and proffessional service. We also had steam in the shower which was a great touch and I had a very enjoyable time.
- The taxi to the airport was ordered by the hotel and this was late, this could have caused us to miss our flight. It would have been nice to have a wider selection of drinks and snacks in the room.

+ We absolutely loved the free drinks, coffee, juices, pastries, chocolates, nibbles, the open fire.....it was a very nice touch and made us feel very much at home (even better than home!) This was a present for my husband and it was wonderful - our heartfelt thanks to the hotel staff! We will definitely be back and also will be recommending this hotel to all our friends. No concierge - a definite plus point in my opinion as it added to the hotel's cosyness and homely feel.
- Sorry, I don't really want to give any minus points... - The hotel was a little bit expensive (but we made up a bit with the drinks!) - The rooms were a bit small (and we had deluxe)

+ VERY NICE PROPERTY WITH VERY PLEASANT STAFF. EXCELLENT MORNING BREAKFAST, NICE COMFORTABLE LOBBY WITH REFRESHMENTS
- HARD TO GET THERE AT FIRST AS SEVERAL LOCALS GAVE ME WRONG DIRECTIONS AND CAUSED US TO GET OFF TROLLEY AT WRONG STOP AND WANDER IN THE RAIN FOR A GOOD WHILE UNTIL SOMEONE WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO RECOGNIZE ADDRESS AND GET US TO PROPER ADDRESS

+ Very attentive staff. Excellent decor. Good selection of complimentary wines and spirits.
- Reception were pleased to tell us we had been given a large room, but it was no larger than I would expect from a Travel Inn or similar and with only one small window, the room was dark.

+ Inclusive price, great service, lovely quality rooms, access to the bar, relaxed atmosphere, great breakfasts. My favourite Amsterdam hotel.
- No free internet access. For the price I would have expected this, even though there are computers in the lounge area. A minor issue is the lack of a kettle/coffee in the room. I prefer this for early morning, before a shower and breakfast.

+ I hesitate to give this hotel the fabulous review it deserves because if everyone starts going there, I won't be able to get a room! Their unique "everything included" concept is a great idea, and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. The free breakfast offers a multitude of both hot and cold options, including made-to-order pancakes and omelets. And it's wonderful to come back from a long day and unwind in the lobby in a comfy chair in front of the fireplace with a Bailey's on the rocks, gratis of the complimentary bar. Or you can take your drink to a desk and check your email. It's perfection! I love this hotel -- please stay away!

+ All inclusive Hotel, all drinks (including alchohol hic!), Pay TV etc...Very comfortable rooms and good location. Reasonable value for money depending on the rate you can secure a room for. If you can get a room for < 180 euros then its a steal.
Gordon Fuglestad

+ Very kind staff. Very good and relaxing breakfast.
- Only one chair for 2 persons to sit in. Fresh air in room. Not possible to open windows.
Kimberly Welch
8.6
+ Very clean, excellent friendly service, free internet, wonderful breakfast, did I mention the excellent service? Really great hotel. Would highly recommend to others.
- Selected a canal front hotel to have a view of the canal but instead had a view of the construction outside our window and the street.
Mr Kevin MacKenzie
8.4
+ Excellent service apart from check in. Provided advice on local restuarants, bars etc. All staff very friendly and the inclusive drinks and breakfast were excellent. All in all a most enjoyable stay and would recommend others to stay aslong as they don't mind the small rooms.
- Rooms were extremely small especially for the price paid, reception check in was slow and unorganised. Scaffolding outside the hotel which was not mentioned was a disappointment and spoilt the view of the canal.
Pfister Patrick
6.8
+ Internet, free bar and location
- Very expensive!

+ I traveled with my 16 year old son and found that all staff treated him equally as well as me, his adult companion. This is important to me as we frequently travel together and I wish him the same level of attention and service as an adult would receive. The thoughtful touches offered by all staff were appreciated--- the open bar in The Living, coffee available at all hours, assistance with directions, advice regarding attractions, restaurants!!! The best!
- Check in was delayed (after reported check in time, d/t late departing guests. This is difficult when arriving from the US at such an early hour. We, of course, would expect some wait but it was a bit "overlong".
Darren Broom
8.8
+ It was dealt with politely by offering free room service. Otherwise, a very nice hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Mini bar fridge was not working
George Graham

+ The theme of "being at home" in the hotel with access to DVD, drinks and food at no extra cost was clever idea and worked well.
