Clean hotel, reasonably priced with secure parking.

• + Reasonably priced room although left breakfast as I thought 13 euros was a bit much. Secure parking was extra but worth it if you have something that stands out.
• – Only had one towel in room when two adults were present. Too late to ask for another as we were in a rush to check out.
• * my tip Tram stop 5 mins away into city centre.

Not over friendly receptoinist

• + Good breakfast
• – Reception staff not over friendly and welcoming. We asked them for an extra pillow and the woman said there wasn't anymore. It was until late evening when the late receptionist was more helpful and found a pillow for us. Also helped us with the safe which we set wrong.

Pleasant Stay

• + Lovely and clean. Pleasant staff. Had the choice to pay in GBP or Euros (cheaper in GBPs)!
• – Distance from tram stop and centre

• + Only 5-10 min walk from tram stop, and only another 5 mins to train station which is 1 stop from airport! Cheap drinks in hotel Smoking rooms Free munchies - sweets & lollies in reception
• – Had to get a tram from city (about 5 stops) last tram 12.30 but hotel bar closed at 12.30. So no drinks unless you bought some from the supermarket
• * my tip Buy a 24hr transport ticket only 7.50 euros, you can get around the city so easily, but ladies wear flat shoes to walk back to tram stops. Thin heels are difficult to walk on the dam cobbles!

Nice if you want to be away from red light, but close enough to travel

• – They messed up the bill and did not record payments for the mini bar properly

This is a comfortable, convenient and helpful budget hotel.

• + Great breakfast. Room was surprisingly quite, considering proximity to motorway. Having a restaurant on site was very convenient. Good to be on a tram line. Secure parking at reasonable rate was a huge plus. it meant we didn't have to drive into central Amsterdam.

Basic hotel in poor location for city visit.

• – Location very poor for city visit. Lack of door closers, noisy slamming doors.

Friendly staff but check parking before you book

• + very friendly and helpful staff at front desk
• – i chose this hotel specifically because of parking.One of the two parking areas was closed as the gate was broken for the duration of our visit, and it was a very busy period, so one night I had to squeeze my car into the only tiny space left - or park it on the street and take the risk of it being broken into. This was really not good enough and you needed to get engineers there immediately. The advertised tram connection into the city is fine, as long as you don't mind a bit of a walk, especially on the return journey. it is not just outside the door.

Good hotel for the price and not far from the city center

We spent a good wend in Amsterdam.

• – The position is far of the city and prix is high.

Peace and quiet with good monetary value.

• + We liked the location of the hotel because it was away from the hub bub of the city but convenient to get to from Schipol airport and to travel by tram to get to the major sites of the city.
• – Our room was small and minimally furnished. We found a fan in the closet to cool the room but there was no place to stand it on. We had to turn over a waste basket in order to lift it from the floor.

Bastion hotel: Amsterdam short stay

• + Good Breakfast, although the coffee was never refilled, and one had to ask for fresh. Had a smoking room.
• – Terrible location,(in a construction area), The Lift was broken our whole stay, good that we were only on the 1st floor. No additional ameanaties (hot tub, sauna, pool etc).

I can recommend.

• + Very comfortable hotel in this price level.Clean, pleasant. Nice staff. We were affraid of the fact, that main street is too near, but there was no noise. Excellent placing between city centre and train station to Schiphol. Near to Rembrandt park and Vondel park - nice walk to the city center.
• – In the bathroom there is only curtain around the shower, so the water is on all the floor.

• + Hotel is easy to find by car and hotel parking is cheap and very safe.

• – Trappenhuis is wat bedomp, de ventilatie badkamer was niet optimaal

• – Unfortunately we were disappointed! The hotel was covered in scaffolding which was not mentioned when we booked, and opposite was council construction. Internally, we all noticed an unpleasant smell in the bathrooms and we could not get a hairdryer from reception although we tried both days! No hairdryer between 4 ladies on holiday - not good at all!!! Surely any European hotel of the most basic standard would provide this elementary service? Overall we stayed out of the hotel as long as possible and if our experience had been different we might have had some meals and drinks there.

• + Hôtel correct ** pour Amsterdam. Accès facile et parking fermé. Petit déjeuner buffet copieux. Accueil sympathique et serviable. Assez calme.
• – Relativement loin du centre malgré le nom 'Centrum' : Tram à 10mn puis une dizaine de stations ligne 1 ou 17. Environnement en travaux.

• + Rooms and beds OK
• – Breakfest: Pice/quality not acceptable Parking: Very bad: One PARKING TOO SMALL and the other was NOT GUARDED, because the gate could not be closed and on the camera only the entrance could be seen.

• – The Girl at the reception was Very rude...

• + Easy to find due to the signs pointing all the way from the motorway. Free internet and bathcap!
• – Room smelled a bit of cigarette-smoke.

• + Helpful staff - good restaurants 10 minutes walk
• – Wifi access did not allow you to use explorer
