+ it's a very good location- near by the city and tram-station, good restaurants. reception is kindly. everything clean ..

- very noisy in the hotel and outsite early in the morning, the breakfast was realy made 'cheap' with 'fastfood', not fresh (coffeeconcentrat, orangejusconcentrate, less fresh fruits), the room and bath (shower) small for this price, with a showerglas defect- water running on the floor..

+ I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was safe, clean, and the staff was helpful and friendly. The price was extremely reasonable for what you got. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious.

- It is about a 15 min tram ride to the center of the city, but the tram stop is right in front of the hotel. It was not an inconvenience at all, but for those that like to be right in the heart of the city center, then another hotel might be an option.

+ We first stay at the Beethoven Hotel in 1990 when it was owned by Best Western. The hotel has been refurbished to a good standard and the beds are very comfortable

- The old restaurant/breakfast area is now the coffee shop next door and although the new breakfast area is adaquate, the breakfast's are not as good with limited variety (especially if staying a number of days)

+ The only plus is that the hotel is relatively close to the centrum of the city.

- Loud and dirty. Furniture from 80-ties. Service of low quality: housekeeping wakes you at 9 a.m. even if you place "do not disturb" at your door.

- Minor inconveniences: -Difficult to adjust water temperature in the bathroom -Lights in the room are either very bright and too strong to watch TV, or (the bedside lamp) too dim to read a book -Vending machines do not include snacks, if you are hungry at night you are stuck. I discovered the late shop nearby only the last night!

- Dirty sheets, uncomfortable (empty and cold) room with dirty walls, which only looked nice and warm during the night with lights on, toilet too close to the wall (not enough space to sit without touching the ice cold walls and bathtub)

+ Good quality. Good rooms, nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Good connections to city centre by tram.

- Noisy, you hear guests in other rooms, in the halway and on the stairs. You also hear the street. Neighbourhood is nice, but there's not much to do (not many shops, restaurants, etc), although you can get to the centre quite easily.

Forrest Lawrence I highly recommend staying at Hotel Beethoven.

+ Great staff, nice breakfast and the location is great. Nice part of town, within walking distance to the Zuid train station. Located near nice shops and food and it is just a short trip on the public transportation to the city center.

- The bathroom was a little small.

+ It was a nice cozy room with a nice tea/coffee service so that I did not had to go downstairs for it.

- The room was on a busy street . And sound from the guest upstairs was like a herd of elephants late at night and again he was stamping in the morning. The bathroom was small and the shower was or very Hot or Ice cold water 2 minutes hot than Ice cold and the drain did not work so I was standing in the water all the time so not very hygienic. I would not book a room with them again , also because the price was higher than it was told on line.

+ The rooms are comfortable spacious with tea and coffee making faciliies.The location is convenient with easy access by tram or taxi into the centre of the city.

- On this occasion the room i requested was available, but they didn't clean it on the day of my arrival.They offered me another room which i took.The following day the room i wanted was ready.I thought this was bad service.

+ The rooms are very comfortable and spacious.The staff are very accomodating and friendly. There is a tea and coffee available on tap, ofering a variety of coffees, hot chocolate and tea for free.

- On one occasion i had to wait nearly two hours for my room to be ready.This was irritating as you'd like to freshen up after travelling.

+ My single room was spacious, clean. Everything I needed was in it. Breakfast was quite good and it was served by 6:30 already. People at the receiption desk were nice and helpful.

- It was cold in the room (late October). In the morning the water in the shower was just slightly warm. And if you book a transfer to the airport you'd better ask the receiptionist to double check the booking (shuttle for me didn't arrive)

+ On the says I was checking in and out, the two people behind the front desk were wonderful! On the day I checked in, the woman behind the desk made every effort to accommodate my last minute need for early check-in. The man on the day I checked out was friendly and courteous. Location was perfect to walk to the WTC for work and to walk into the city center.

- Bathrooms are small. Eating area contains lingering cigarette smell. The web access should be 24 hours from purchase, not 24 hours noon-noon.

+ Nice staff, very helpful if necessary. Taxi service excellent.

- Nobody informed me that reconstruction work would be done during my visit. They did not make a lot of noise, but still hotel should inform and lower price. Additionally, the refrigerator was mentioned as being in room, but was not. There is a coffee/tea facility in room, but they did not "refill" tea or coffee bags on daily routine.

+ Staff were fantastic, service on the front counter was friendly, honest and helpful. Located in a great part of town... just take the #5 tram from Central Station for one of the best (and cheap) tours though Amsterdam.

- Undergoing renovations on our floor, although no noise, we didn't stay at the hotel at the best possible time. Probably got a good price though because of it.

+ Good transport link from airport via WTC Zuid Train Station, about 1000m from hotel. And good link to centre via tram ,stop outside hotel

- Under the bed in our Room 105,there was a MOUSE TRAP (box type) does the hotel have an issue with VERMIN !! guests should be made aware. The hotel room Smelt of Smoke and the carpets could do with a clean.Didn,t find Mouse trap until last morning as we were packing.We didn,t complain as we were only there for 2 days and we were out of the room all day sightseeing.

+ Bahn vor der Tür, aber Zimmer nach hinten raus und dadurch ruhig Hotel ist sauber

- bis ins Zentrum 20 min der Bahn (Linie 5 und 24) ohne Umsteigen. Ist aber gut machbar. 72 h Bahn Ticket kostet 15 Euro Bad klein aber sauber

- Geen molton laken op het matras dus 1 dun lakentje vind ik niet erg fris. En in de vloerbedekking zaten vieze vlekken.

+ Ruime kamer voor drie personen, het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid en vriendelijk personeel, ook al checkten we erg laat in.

- De kamers zijn wel wat gehorig. Naast ons keken mensen tot diep in de nacht tv en daar konden we van meegenieten. Ook hoor je trams voorbij komen, maar dat is niet echt storend.

- we hadden een kamer met bad afgesproken en kregen een (laatste) kamer, piepklein, oud, met een douche. Alles was vol , we konden geen andere kamer krijgen!
