+ The price is decent and the hotel is across the street from an amazing Egyptian steak house that has the best spare ribs on the planet. Seriously! Only 15 minutes from the airport, even in morning traffic.

- Mattresses are way to soft and the pillows are way too hard; noise from the street cars (trains) can be disturbing while trying to sleep if your room is on the street side. I've stayed at this hotel four times and the last time the heater didn't work in the room so I nearly froze by morning. One of the two elevators has been out of order for months, and the buttons for the other one don't light up, so you don't know if the elevator knows you're waiting or whether it knows what floor you w

+ Brilliant, friendly and bi-lingual staff - all of them. Rooms clean. Doctor arranged promptly on request. For 89euro per night this is a value room

- The location is a bit far from downtown but the metro system is easy to navigate, so this wasn't too much of a factor.

+ Service was great. Very friendly staff. Good value for my money.

- I don't think I would want to be outside the hotel at night. There was a fight at the bus stop in the middle of the day. Lots of wandering groups of young men.

+ quite clean, nice rooms, nice bathroom.

- We should have a 4pers room, but because of a system problem we had 2 rooms for 2pers + this two room didn't have air conditioner we had to ask something like 10 time to finally change our room the day after... Not a 4stars hotel. +parking some stuff were put infront the access & we had to turn to find an other entry...

+ The receptionists were friendly and helpful before and during our stay. It was a cheaper choice among the other hotels including breakfast; this is the only and main plus of the hotel.

- The cleaning was terrible; dusty. There was hair even in the clean towels (clearly not my spouse's or mine). The cleaning lady's concept of housekeeping should definetely needs to be defined again. Although we raised this to the frront desk manager, there was no improvement. The breakfast was the same for all 7 mornings and unfortunately 3 out of 4 meat options consist of pork. The service staff in the restaurant were rude. Finally, although it is stated as 4 starts hotel, it is 3 stars in the hotel's own documents! Guess the reason.

+ Very clean, very nice and helpful receptionist.

- A few details only: Door keycard didn't work well. Wakeup call never came even if I specifically asked Reception. Lots of queue at the coffee machine at breakfast. I expected a little more from a 4 star hotel.

+ Room outlook of room 288 is nice, room generally very good, staff were very pleasant.

- Unable to get email access, could get internet access but not send / receive emails due to problems with hotel internet provider. This is very bad news for a businessman like myself. I had to pay for parking but parking doors were damaged so parging gave me no protection for the car.

+ The room was excellent. Had a cot bed for our baby as requested. The light bulb and malfunctioning door handle were fixed promptly, when reported. The front desk staff were very helpful. Good value for money.It Being Amsterdam we travelled to city centre in 30 minutes flat and also took the train/Bus combo to and from the Airport. Would love to stay there and visit Dam again.

+ Receptionist are very friendly and helpful, especially Brenda. She provided us all the informations we required with a sweet smilling face. Even this hotel is located away from the city center, but with the public transportation information provided by the receptionist, it was a lot easier than we thought. Close to a supermarket and a small shipping mall. Value for money. Sure will come back and recommended to friends.

- The lighting in the bathroom was very dim. 2 lights not working for the 1st night. Become worst the 2nd day, only 1 light is working. No service staff stand-by at night. We were informed by the receptionist they will only check on the next day, which we will be checking out. This is the only minus point we found so far with this hotel.

+ Large, very clean rooms. Free WiFi computer access. Excellent staff. Very nice breakfast in the morning and diner in the restaurant was excellent. Hotel staff was very helpful with transportation into the center of the city. Hotel was not located in the center of the tourist area but getting to points of interest was very easy with the tram and bus system. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in Amsterdam.

+ The room is very nice, spacious and comfortable. It has been cleaned every day and very well. Tea and coffee in the room is also really pleasant.

- Upon our arrival they put us into a room without windows..that was NOT ok. After we demonstrated our unhappiness they got us moved to a different room without saying a word.

+ The interior of the hotel was very nice and the parking a plus. Once inside the hotel you knew that you were in safe and comfortable environment. Quite a dramatic surprise from when you see the hotel from outside.

- The location of the hotel is a bit off the beaten path and seemed slightly less desirable. The exterior appearance of the Hotel also made it look rundown from the outside.

- we had a problem with comming to hotel by 13tram which was told us to use from city station by your personal and personal do not know cross street with blue signs W E S T, so we couldn find your hotel, if it was round the corner, i was surprised that lady at your reception dont know surround street, especially that where tram stop is situated. another problem was that wasnt empty room for 3 people and we were after long way to amsterdam very tired because we didnt sleep through the night, so we awaited some help from staff, but they just told us to wait until some room will be empty, but we got room at 12:35 what i dont understand, because if i had tired customers at reception they would get first empty room in five minutes after leaving by previous customers, i cant still believe that to tidy one triple room is 35 minute action...

+ The hotel inerior made a very good impression and looked exquisite and high class.

- When I arrived in mid-afternoon, the door of my allocated room was open and there were used bed linen lying around on the chairs and rubbish on the floor. The receptionist gave me another room which again hadn't been cleaned out with empty beer bottles standing around and beds not made

+ The Hotel was ideal for me as I could walk to Sloterdijk station in 15 minutes.It was clean and well organised. The price I got for two nights including a good buffet breakfast was extremly competative. The tram stops right outside the hotel door if you want to go into Amsterdam city centre. There was a buffet dinner option which was reasonable value, but if my legs hadn't hurt so much after running the Rotterdam mararthon I would have eaten out.

- There was a total no smoking policy, which is good, but it did mean that people hung around the front of the building smoking. When I first approached from the street I found this a little threatening.

- Awoken just before 9am by 2 guests who were let into the wrong room, not what I needed as i'd arrived after midnight from the Rotterdam Marathon, no apology from receptionist who told me 'I should have had the DND on' really not impressed

+ The hotel is well run and ideal for a city break. We enjoyed the size and comfort of the room and the breakfast was addecuate. Staff where good at providing information about bus and tram routes to use and where we should visit.

- We had left the A10 at the correct junction and where less than a mile away from the hotel. We where lost and one of the receptionists repeatedly put us on hold and did not help us at all she just kept repeating that she couldn't drive and did not no the way. Eventually we found the hotel witht the help of a local. I think that the journey is relatively simple and there should be a list of intructions directing you to the hotel from this main road. If this informtation where to hand for all staff on the front desk then we wouldn't have wasted an hour driving around getting stressed out. This considered we would definitley use your hotel again and staff service after this was good.

+ Kamers netjes en verzorgd.

- Slechte bereikbaarheid / aanduiding parkeergarage en ingang Hotel. Tevens mochten wij zondag tot 12.00 uur verblijven om uit te checken maar werden die ochtend tot 2 keer "gestoord" in onze slaap door schoonmaaksters!! Eerste keer 9.40 uur en 2e keer om 11.15; luid op de deur kloppen en vervolgens de deur openen, dat kan echt niet !!

+ vriendelijke bediening maar bij het uitchecken vroeg men ons niet of we een fijn verblijf hadden gehad. Grote douche, proper, 's nachts geen lawaai.

- Het ontbijt: Er waren enkele dingen die ontbraken. Verse fruitsla (niet uit blik dus), koffiekoeken (croissants!!), choco en confituur zou ik op een bordje of in een potje geven (op je bord is nogal moeilijk). Het avondeten: De kaart mag volgens mij wat uitgebreider. Dat was de reden waarom we 's avonds niet in het hotel aten. Een rundsteak of ossenhaas,... De voorgevel van het hotel is echt niet uitnodigend. Helemaal niet stijlvol (de binnenkant wel). Het bed en de hoofdkussens vonden we heel slecht. Mijn vriend en ik hebben heel slecht geslapen en stonden 's morgens op met een pijnlijke rug en nek (kussen is veel de dik en te hoog, dit ligt echt niet comfortabel), geen minibar (zelfs geen kleine frigo)

+ Kamers zijn ruim en netjes. Het ontbijt is prima. Het hele hotel is rookvrij.

- Uit reviews blijkt dat het brandalarm al vaker (2008, 2009) is afgegaan. Ook in ons geval (2010) ging het brandalarm 's morgens tussen 07.00-08.00 uur 3x af! Toen we het meldde bij de receptie werd hier laconiek op gereageerd. Wanneer gaan ze hier eens iets aan doen??? De parkeergarage ligt aan de achterzijde van het hotel. Als je bij de entree komt, staat nergens aangegeven dat het ook daadwerkelijk de garage van het Best Western is. Pas nadat je een kaartje hebt getrokken zie je hierop dat het de juiste garage is. Ook de uitgang en lift naar het hotel zijn een beetje 'shabbie' en slecht aangegeven.

+ leuk hotel met mooie mid-winter aanbieding. goed met het openbaar vervoer de binnen stad te bereiken. auto heb je niet nodig voor €15 prima in de parkeergarage van het hotel staan

- de hotel kok kan beter in de snackbar gaan staan. snitsel uit de frituurpan verwacht je niet voor een prijs van €14. Jammer want je kunt veel meer uit het restaurant halen.
