+ A remarkable hotel. Exceptionally welcoming, friendly and relaxed. Beautifully decorated throughout. Charming location, window tables with open views to watch the world go by whilst enjoying a leisurely breakfast. Idyllic setting for a glimpse of Amsterdam life. Truly wonderful stay. + Location is terrific. Very close to major museums and a canal, plus lots of nightlife that isn't necessarily seedy.

- Tiny room. I was allergic to something in the room. Not sure what it was. Could have had something to do with the two kittens we saw the last day...

+ Friendly staff and good location just around the corner from Vondel Park and Leidseplein. Would recommend opting for a canal view room as the view was great.

- Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, it was 10 Euro extra. No cooked breakfast.

+ Excellent location for visiting Amsterdam. We could walk everywhere - into the centre or out through the Vondel Park into the beautiful Old South. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had two rooms and although the double was quite small, the 3-bed room was very large and very comfortable.

- We stayed in canal-view rooms on the first floor and both traffic and noisy people on the street woke us up during the night, as did a few guests arriving back late at the hotel.

+ Great little hotel - smart and clean, with very friendly and helpful staff and free wi-fi Internet access. Located on a corner at the back of the Leidseplein theater block, the front rooms have good canal views and a 5 minute walk gets you to the restaurant and entertainment district. The hotel does offer a good breakfast but you should tell Reception you want it the night before. The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Vondelpark are all within easy walking distance. If you want to go anywhere else, when you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal Station on the train from Schiphol, buy an Iamsterdam museum entry and travel card at the Tourist Office on Platform 2, or cross the road to the Transport Office and invest in an OV chipkaart, which you can use on any tram or metro train (It's RFID, so just flash it at the reader when you get on and when you get off). For Boutique Hotel View take Tram 1, 2 or 5 (from the stop to the right as you face the city), get off at Leidseplein (announced on the PA), walk toward the canal and turn right at the American Bar - the hotel is just around the next corner.

- Like many similar Amsterdam hotels it has steep stairs and no elevator. So, if you're planning to stay for a week or more, bring two bags rather than one heavy cabin trunk.

+ The location is just away from the hustle and bustle and can be walked too quite easily with a map or not very expensive if a taxi is taken. The staff were pleasant and helpful and made us feel welcome. The room was spacious and well maintained plus we were given a balcony which had a splendid view of the canals. The en-suite bathroom was clean and had all the amenities that a person could require. The breakfast was lovely and had many different foods and drinks to choose from.

+ The hotel is very well decorated, clean and in the perfect location for a fun weekend in Amsterdam.

- The small double rooms are very small. The hotel is very good about describing them as such, but I felt that they were not suitable for two people. They compare more to a cabin on a cross channel ferry. There is also a lack of ventilation, and no air-con.

+ Een erg fijn hotel met een zeer vriendelijke, enthousiaste bediening tijdens het ontbijt, wat overigens uitstekend was met versgebakken spiegeleitjes of pannekoeken. Goede bedden, frisse badkamer e.d. Een aanradertje. Ik was er zakelijk voor 1 nacht maar bij m'n favorieten opgeslagen voor de volgende keer.

- Was nogal warm op de kamer totdat bleek dat ik de verwarming gewoon uit kon doen. Geen lift maar was vooraf bekend gemaakt. Dus geen minpunten!!

+ Knus hotel, goede locatie vlakbij De La Mar theater en dichtbij rondvaartboten en waterfietsen. Heerlijk ontbijt met croissants, pistolets, roerbakei en verse jus d'orange. Ook voor de kinderen hagelslag en vruchtenhagel.

- Wij zaten op de 3e verdieping, steile trappen naar boven!

- In souterain aan de voorkant 's nachts lawaaiig. In toilet miste een handdoekrekje en spiegel. Voor drie personen kamer iets aan de krappe kant ivm nachtelijke toiletgang.

+ Prachtige kamer (102), meer een slaapkamer dan een hotelkamer. Ontbijt heerlijk, alles vers: de eigenaresse bereidt eieren op maat. Personeel buitengewoon vriendelijk en gastvrij.

- Niet iedereen spreekt Nederlands aan de receptie. Er wordt te makkelijk van uitgegaan dat alle gasten Engels spreken. Sleutels werken niet optimaal. Stof op kastplanken.

+ Rustige ligging, zeer centraal. Prachtig gerenoveerd hotel met vriendelijk personeel. Wij hadden een klein 2-persoonskamer gereserveerd. Zonder erom te vragen, werd onze kamer geupgrade. We kregen een mooie ruime kamer zonder toeslag te betalen..bedankt hiervoor!! Ontbijt was ook prima geregeld!

- Wanneer gasten thuis kwamen, was dit goed te horen. Ze waren duidelijk te verstaan. Dit ligt meer aan de gasten dan aan het hotel! Het was een hele klim, maar we waren blij dat we een kamer op de 3e etage kregen. Anders hoorden we nog meer dan dat we al deden.

+ We hebben heerlijk geslapen in dit hotel, het personeel was zeer vriendelijk, behulpzaam en de kamer was schoon. Het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid. De ligging van het hotel is uitstekend. We komen hier zeker terug!

+ Goed verzorgd hotel. ziet er allemaal goed verzorgd en strak uit. service is ook goed. Het hotel ligt mooi centraal gelegen. Uitgaansgebied op loopafstand maar geeft geen geluidsoverlast.

- het was erg warm op onze kamer, misschien een idee om airco of ventilatoren te instaleren. Het afzuigsysteem in de douche werkte niet waardoor het in de douche maar ook in de kamer erg heet werd na het douchen

+ Ein sehr sauberes Hotel in einer top Lage mit sehr nettem Personal. Auch nach dem Auschecken aus dem Hotel durfte man unentgeldlich die Koffer unterstellen und später abholen. Freier Internetzugang! Alles in allem sehr gemütlich.

- Eines der zwei Dreibettzimmer war etwas spärlich eingerichtet und schien nach einer Renovierung noch nicht ganz fertig (fehlende Haken für Handtücher und offenes Abzugsrohr). Ausserdem war in beiden Zimmern das dritte Bett eher eine Ausziehcouch, auf der man nicht so gut schlafen konnte. In einem der Zimmer liessen sich die Fenster gar nicht bzw. nur sehr schwer öffnen.
