The Best Western Apollo Museumhotel Amsterdam City Centre is an ideal base for those who want to visit Amsterdam's most important sights, but have a limited amount of time. The Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum can all be reached within a few minutes walk. All hotel rooms are nicely furnished and come with a private bathroom, television, telephone, hairdryer, mini bar, sitting area, desk and air conditioning. Naturally, you are welcome in the stylish hotel bar, both during the day and in the evening. This is a good place to plan your daily excursions. Upon departure you can store your valuables in a safe at the reception. The hotel can be reached by trams 2 and 5 from Amsterdam Central Station. The tram stop is Hobbemastraat.

Great hotel, and great location at a reasonable price
  • + LOCATION Staff extremely responsive and helpful Nicer than our friends hotel....which they paid much more!!!! (we booked early for a lower rate)
  • no food available other than breakfast... Was not able to get credit on my Best Western point club---because we did not book it directly through Best Western.....I do think that should not matter.

brilliant stay in this hotel with really friendly and helpful staff.
  • + The room we stayed in was lovely, clean and air conditioned. The staff were friendly and very helpful. A good location with plenty of restaurants and bars but a bit away from dam square. The tram is right round the corner which was great also.
  • we weren't informed when booking that we had to leave 150 euro deposit at the reception and collect it back when our stay was over, also the city tax wasn't paid even though I taught it was included in the overall price.
  • * my tip lovely bars and restaurants right around the corner from the hotel.

Quite a nice hotel
  • + You can take direct bus 197 from Schiphol Airport till bus/tram stop Hobbemastraat near the hotel (2-minute walk) for just €2.82
  • If you booked a room without brekfast you would find no place to have a morning bite somewhere near the hotel

Great Staff, Great Location, Great Price!!
  • + The staff here were fantastic, and very friendly. Hotel is 1 minute away from Rijkmuseum which was a plus. There is free wifi, computers, and use of printing facilities. The printer was broken, however the staff very kindly printed my boarding pass for me.
  • The first night, we did have a stained bed sheet, however it was changed the very next day. Take ear plugs - the air conditioning is very noisy.
  • * my tip There is a lovely bar called Cafe Hans en Griete, 2 minutes away from the hotel. Cheap wine, good service and right on the canal. I would also recommend Cafe De Spuyt and De Prael micro brewery.

Comfortable and quiet room on perfect location
  • + The staff is very professional, rooms are nice and clean. Great bathroom in so little space.
  • The room was to small for 2 people with luggage. The materasses are waaaay to soft - they should be replaced, not only covered with thinner, protective materasses above
  • * my tip Hotel is right around the corner from Rijks Museum!

Everything you expect - no more, no less!
  • + Great location, nice decor in hotel, good facilities, clean & well serviced. You get what you expect, no more & no less - if u want more, try the dearer hotels! Staff helpful, some more than others.
  • Breakfast not very good value for money, rooms small but adequate for short stay, no room for luggage, wi-fi wouldn't work on iPhone/iPod - only on computer. Towels in bathroom too small but probably standard hotel size.
  • * my tip 3 sisters on Rembrandtplein - great for quiet drink & meal.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff
  • + Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Lovely room! We were on the 5th floor in their penthouse area. However we didnt like that others could actually see through our keyhole into our adjoining room!
  • We had requested a twin room and received a double bed.. We didnt book breakfast as it looked too expensive for what was on offer.

An Excellent Hotel with hard to access rooms :)
  • + location being close to museums & other attraction points
  • The new extension is not comfort at all, rooms are too close, and the accessibility of the rooms to elderly guest is not a pleasant experience at all.
  • * my tip avoid new extension, stick to stadard floor from ground to fourth floor.

Clean, comfortable and close to main tourist attractions
  • + I booked a classic double bed room through a deal, stayed here for 2 nights (60 - 80 euros). Went here with least expectations after reading some reviews, but I was very happy after staying here. Very clean rooms, good bed and shower looks new. The room is small, but it is enough for 2 people. Very close to the Leidseplein, Holland Casino and Museum plein. Probably it is the best location for tourists. The staff are welcoming and friendly, They provided free maps and suggested places to visit.
  • Breakfast is a bit expensive, around 10 euros. It was a continental breakfast, they can improve it a bit better. (ex. fruit juices)
  • * my tip Very comfortable for budget travellers. Best place for tourists.

Great location, away from the riff-raff
  • + When we requested extra pillows they were brought in a timely manner. Also appreciated the complimentary bottled water at the front desk.
  • The bed was uncomfortable and the breakfast is not recommended unless you're short on time and that is your only option.

  • + great location and clean room
  • A/C was not working and room was stifling. The desk clerk advised there's nothing I can do. Two very uncomfortable, miserable nights sleep.

Best Western Apollo Museumhotel Review
  • + Great location. Well decorated and clean room. Free WIFI in the room and Internet usage at reception.
  • We had to go outside of reception and down the street to get to our room. The room was at the top of a steep narrow staircase which meant we had to lift our luggage up by hand.

Quality hotel, high value for money, perfect localization
  • + - perfect localization near Leidseplein and about 15-20 min walk from Rembrandtplein. - right next to Museumplein and beautiful Vondelpark - very nice room - overall high value for money - free and safe (registred) luggage storage after cheking out

Good for short trip in Amsterdam
  • + Good place nearby State museum, clean room, acceptable price.
  • Average breakfast. Very-very small double bed room. Personal required additional deposit (150 EURO for 3 night for me) for example for possible mini bar using as an insurance (for what?). Btw, in the root no mini bar :-) . No boiler in the room. You can ask coffee-maker but it is not good for tea.

  • (Travelling alone)
Perfect for my pleasure-cum-business needs
  • + A comfortable, trouble-free hotel
  • Room was new but small. A frequent problem in Dutch hotels - the shower floods the entire bathroom floor because the basin is not sunk, but at floor level.

  • (Older couples)
  • + nice room, beautiful view, very helpful staff
  • unpleasant odor in 3rd floor hallway, but room was very pleasant
7.6
  • (Travelling alone)
Very modern, but not very cheerfull.
  • + A good situation regarding the access to the center of Amsterdam, the museums and the RAI.
  • The room was a little bit cold, and I did not success on using the thermostat. The breakfast is not as rich as the price could promise. But maybe it is because I am french!

comfort + relaxing = good nights sleep
  • + fantastic deal for the one person room. thoroughly satisfied. 11 o clock check out is also awesome.
8.4
  • (Travelling alone)
Good museum hotel
  • + Very good location, nice ambiente, bed good, shower good.
  • Bathroom nice but too stylish and really not practical- esp. washbowl much too high, not possible to wash the face because of non flexible watertap over the bowl. Glasdoor for the shower is by construction permeable on the bottom so after douche the floor is flooded. Only one hook. summary: should be reformed ... Room very close, bed to table no space

Clean, modern, cosy hotel in a lovely location
  • + Clean, modern and close to the museums for those interested in them. Also in a very lovely up market road, with a tram stop very close and some lovely restaurants dotted around it.
  • slightly on the smaller side (or maybe the room we were in). oh yes....the pillows, or more like cushions!! you can afford some better!!

  • + Good location
  • Room very small, was two single beds pushed together so it was not large enough, no storage.
