The Hotel Citadel in Amsterdam is a homely 3-star family-run hotel that combines an intimate ambiance with a central location in the vibrant heart of Amsterdam. The 38 stylish rooms are equipped with a bathroom with a hair dryer, a telephone with a direct outside line, a television and a safe. On request you have access to wireless Internet in the hotel with your laptop. All floors are accessible by elevator. In the morning, hotel guests are welcome to enjoy a Dutch (continental) breakfast buffet. Upon arrival and after check-out you may also use the luggage room, where you can temporarily keep your belongings safe while sightseeing in the city. In the atmospheric bar/lounge of the hotel you may casually enjoy a nice drink.

Anonymous I don't stay again in this hotel: 15 October 2011; 4.6; + the personels are very polite and helpful.; - my neighbours were very much noisy even at mid night, and nobody warned them! and my bed was very close to the window opened to a main street, also very noisy. I had one night stay but could not sleep at all

OK breakfast.; - Tiny room with the narrowest bed I've ever slept on. Poorly sound proofed, I might as well have slept in the corridor. Not what I expected for 120 euro. At the check in I was advised to insert the door card key into a slot to get lights, but spent a futile 10 minutes trying to find it in the dark only to realize that there was no slot (lights were not on when I got in, but apparently were activated a few minutes later by which time I had accidentally turned them off during in my search).

Martin Great place to stay!: 13 September 2010; 8.6; + Staff at desk were very nice. The room was very well appointed.; - We were visiting during the IBC conference so the prices were quite inflated.

Donald Hemphill Perfect for what I wanted: 1 September 2010; 9.4; + This hotel was exactly what I wanted. It is a short walk from the train station and easy to find and in a perfect location for hitting city center. I arrived with reservation and got my room quickly. The front desk was always staffed and helpful. The single room was super tiny! but again exactly all that I wanted for tooling around AMS by myself.; - none. I was expecting the tiny room, and was pleasantly surprised by other little things.

To Grace The hotel is recommendable.: 28 June 2009; 7.0; + The staff at the reception desk was helpful. Good location.; - The beds were too "soft" which caused the body to slip to one side of the bed.

Maggy Veel TOP, één ding FLOP: 24 May 2009; 7.6; + Heb mijn verblijf erg gewaardeerd; kom graag terug (bij een scherpe prijs!); alles prima in orde en schoon. Het hieronderstaande verbaasde mij omdat het zo in tegenstelling was met de rest!; - een prima ontbijt maar een ontbijtzaal vol vuile borden etc. Zoeken, zoeken naar een plaatsje waar nog iets schoons te vinden is; vervolgens je ontbijt opeten te midden van de vuile spullen van eerdere ontbijters. Er kwam in het halfuur dat ik er zat, 2x een meisje iets opruimen (dwz 4 vuile borden weggehaald.....)Jammer, verder alles perfect in orde; bloemen waren ook aan verversing toe!

Big underground public car park nearby (The Kolk).; - Nothing major. I was a little cold on our first night, but that was because I hadn't thought to look in the wardrobe for spare blankets. In the triple room, the third bed could use an independent bedside lamp.

Corina Bastiaan Slechte bedden, vooroorlogse badkamer, vreselijke bediening en ontbijt: 9 August 2011; 3.8; + Ligt in het centrum; - Waardeloos hotel en nog vreselijker bediening en ontbijt beneden alle peil. Bedden vliegen uit elkaar/badkamer met wasbak op je schoot op wc/smerig douchegordijn: Ontbijt sneedjes oud brood/geen eieren/geen keuze/aldi kwaliteit: Bediening als een slak, 2kopjes en 2 bordjes per keer afruimen ipv dienblad en aanpoten, mensen 20 minutenwachten voor ze aan tafel konden en de troep afgeruimd was. Lipe 1 dame voor en de 2 receptionisten stroopten de mouwen niet op om te helpen wel blijven kletsen aan de balie. Gasten ruimden zelf tafels af en zetten alles maar op 1 tafel 1 tafel in het midden , dus vol!!! met afwas. Heb dit ook gemeld aan de receptie en ze lachten aller vriendelijkst en dachten.... Wij hebben nog NOOIT zo'n slecht hotel gehad en we mogen heel graag overal een hotelletje pakken. Veel vaker ook in Amsteram geweest en altijd prima hotels. Dit hotel kost 180 euro en is nog geen 50 euro waard! Sorry dat ik me even laat gaan maar het was vreselijk en heb me ook ontzettend zitten ergeren. Volgende keer kies ik weer een ander hotel bij jullie uit hoor maar dit hotel...... Sluiten en afbreken of low butget hotel voor 50 euro van maken, MEER IS HET NIET WAARD!

Theo Snijders Te veel lawaai en licht dat naar binnen scheen.: 8 August 2011; 4.2; + Ontbijt en hygiene; - Kamer aan drukke straat. Veel lawaai. Tussen 3.30 en 4.30 hoorde ik disco muziek. Grote lampen op de ramen gericht, die naar binnen schijnen en tussen de gordijnen door schijnen.

Huisman Een goed hotel met een centrale ligging voor een redelijke prijs: 31 May 2011; 7.8; + De ligging van het hotel is echt super!! Dichtbij het station en dichtbij de winkels. De kamer was prima, alles wat je nodig hebt was aanwezig. Het ontbijt was inclusief en was ook prima. Er was voor ieder wat wils van fruit en yoghurt tot broodjes croissantjes en crackers.; - Ik kan geen minpunten bedenken. Ons verblijf was erg aangenaam.
