citizenM Hotel Amsterdam City is located near the World Trade Center. The centre with its beautiful canals and museums can be easily reached by tram or metro. You can get to the RAI and Schiphol in no time. In the rooms of this design hotel, you determine the atmosphere yourself.

The citizenM design hotel was opened in 2009 and is ideally located for reaching the centre, the World Trade Center and the RAI Exhibition and Conference centre. At only 100 meters from the hotel you can catch tram 5 or the metro towards the Leidseplein, or a direct train to Schiphol Airport.

In all rooms you will find a very comfortable king-size bed, a rain shower, free WiFi Internet and free movies. With the Philips mood control you can operate the lighting in the room. This way, the room brings you into the right mood for working or for a night out.

Food and Drinks

On the ground floor there are 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, in canteenM. With a croissant, sandwich and a fresh cup of coffee starts the day.
The baristas in their own canteenM prepare you for the delicious drinks and coffee. At night, stop by the bar such a draft beer, cocktail or a glass of champagne to order. The good features are sandwiches, salads, sushi and hot meals in the range. Your drink or meal you eat in one of the Vitra design living rooms. This stylish rooms you can also watch television or preparing your presentation.Please note: The price of the à la carte breakfast is about €10, depending on your order.

Internet

In the hotel guests can make free use of wireless Internet. The computers in the living rooms can also be used free of charge.

FANTASTIC

A fantastic hotel,extremely helpful staff,spotlessly clean,very modern and funky,loved the spacious bed,powerful shower,and the shamppos etc provided was very helpful as we stayed the weekend and only carried hand luggage.The trams outside the hotel took us to any where we wished to go.We shall return and have recommended all of our friends.Thanks for making our first visit to Amsterdam so enjoyable.

A manager who turned plumber...

The service as good as it gets. A computer glitch in the UK delayed payment and your staff were brillant in the way they dealt with it. My wife loved the funky feel. The showers are well nice - which helped a long way towards the minor moan below - cos, as we are sure you already know there is plenty of room for two people! Have already recommended your chain to friends, relatives and colleagues.

A UK phenomena is for hotels (of all standards) to provide a mini kettle and other tea/coffee making facilites so's I could have made my wife a cuppa whilst she was taking a shower (or she make me one). Secondly, even though I practically invented computers I only cracked about 85% of your rather fun room handset. Where I struggled was switchig mood lighting between toilet and shower. It seemed to have a mind of its own and the instructions (I had better thing to do than read over complicated instructions) left a little (not much) to be desired.

Proximity to rail link to Schipol. Easy to get to city centre by public transport. Great design through the whole of the hotel and particularly liked the public space (Great furniture and loads of space)

No large glasses of beer on sale. Could have a better choice of food on sale.(Not everyone likes cous cous,salad and sushi)

Good concept if you can get in the mood for it

Room design was great, but more for couples or single traveller than for friends to share. Liked the experience, it was clean, bed good and all the gadgets worked.

Checking in with the helper when you arrive, reminiscent of airline check-in. I was tired it was totally irritating having someone sort of tell me how to work the keypad and pester me about how I was doing it. I cannot imagine how irritating I would have found it if I was on the end of a long haul flight. I was able to shake that off and get into the concept element of the hotel. Food in the canteen, well you probably know this, but insanely overpriced.

The room is very nice and particular. The lights can create a wonderful atmosphere. The shower is really particular.

The bathroom needs more acoustic insulation, the privacy is too low. Okay about the visiv insulation. There is no place to leave clothes: adding some modern forniture and one big nice glass shelf could be useful. We spent ten days in the room 411: everyday the bathroom and shower was good cleaned, but we found a lot of dust on the floor under the bedside tables and on the shelf. Anyway I would like to come back right now!

No free parking provided and parking fees (up to EUR21) must be paid with obscure Dutch bank-cards or with coins (more the city's fault than the hotel's). Would make a great difference if, at least, bank notes could be used to pay.rnrnFairly narrow food selection available in-house, especially for people with allergies (wheat/ gluten). However, staff were willing for you to cook your own food in the microwaves provided and eat it in the hotel.rnrnThe 'Mood Pad' in the room was occasionally temperamental with regards to controlling lighting/ TV, but nothing too serious.rnrnLoud/ tedious electronic window shutter in room.rnrnSlightly annoying tendency for hotel staff to occupy hotel lifts in the mornings. Perhaps a staff lift for the cleaners and their trolleys would make for less 'traffic' and for less time spent by guests waiting for lifts.rnrnRooms soundproof with regards to each other, but noises in the corridor were audible.rnrnSlightly small rooms don't allow for much storage space. Luggage spent most of the time on the floor.

The Bed, I want one! The free wifi and films. The moodpad, lighting and general design theme in the room and "lounges".

If sharing a room, you'll need to be quite intimate, not much privacy.

Great place to stay

The shower, the bed, the reception area, the bar! All areas of the hotel were really comfortable, looked really stylish and it was a great hotel to stay in. I'd highly recommend it.

The toilet facilities in the room mean that it's quite an intimate experience! You need to know someone very well to be comfortable and it's a short tram journey to town. These are minor points though really, I really enjoyed my stay.

ondanks de vraag om 10:00 s'morgens (extra kosten € 20,-) een pre incheck te doen. was het geen probleem om s avonds in te checken 23:30 en de bevestiging dat de reservering zou blijven staan. aankomende om 23:30 blijkt het hotel in een keer vol te zijn. waarbij ze doodleuk ons probeerde af te schepen naar schiphol te verhuizen naar hun andere hotel (bleek ook geen ruimte meer te zijn). na ruim 2 uur wachten en onderhandelen hebben we zelf een ander hotel op schiphol gevonden. een heel end weg. kortom waardeloos hotel en management.

Betaalbare luxe

Leuk dat je met een moodpad alles in de kamer kunt bedienen, van de tv tot de verlichting en temperatuur. Je waant je in een compleet andere wereld waar je de tijd vergeet en je kunt er heerlijk ontspannen. De douche was echt geweldig en een hele aparte ervaring, vooral door het kleurgebruik in de verlichting. Dit hotel is echt een aanrader en we gaan er zeker weer een keer naar toe.

Bed is wat aan de harde kant en de kamer is best klein. Leuk voor 1 nacht tot een lang weekend / midweek, niet langer. Parkeergelegenheid is redelijk, er dient betaald te worden met kleingeld of chipknip. In het hotel kun je maximaal 5 euro wisselen, dus houdt hier rekening mee. Dagkaart kost zo'n 20 euro.

Erste Klasse!

Modernes Design, sehr fairer Preis. Das Hotel-personal spricht fliesend English, und Deutsch eventuell auch ein wenig, wobei man das auch nicht erwarten kann, da in der Stadt fast alle Englisch sprechen, und man beim verreisen auch diesen zumindest ein wenig selbst können - fazit: super hotel zu nem super preis!

Parkplatz ist nur öffentlich im etwas entfernten Wohngebiet vorhanden, ist jedoch trotzdem super zu erreichen da dort direkt eine tram zum Hotel zurück, oder auch wahlweise direkt in die Stadt führt. Zu dem wird dies vom Hotel super und freundlich beschrieben.

comfortabel super groot bed en heerlijk beddengoed, flat screen aan de muur, lekkere douche en douchegel, voldoende handdoeken, de Marvin pop is leuk, sfeer in de kamer is te bepalen door kleur en dimmen van de lichten...

touch screen domotica om in te checken en op de kamer om licht, wekker, verwarming, tv etc te bedienen is even wennen en als je niet alleen bent maar de kamer deelt heb je weinig privacy op douche en toilet.
