Anonymous Spot location but noisy therefore a bit pricey
8.4
+ city centre location, all ammenities around the corner, located on the main shopping street
- you hear the tram until it runs because there is no double glazing on the window
Thomas Schmahl We will come again, this hotel "ROCK´S"
10
+ Really one of the best hotels we ever get and we will advise it
- Nothing was real bad, only that our room was to the street and it was noisy in the night, but "hey" thats the city :-))
Jan Was Comfortable stay in Amsterdam
9.4
+ We had room 504 which was really nice. The service at the desk was excellent. position in the city excellent. Space of the room excellent
- Bar and restaurant closed on Sunday + Monday! cost of breakfast high for what was offered.
Anonymous Distihguished professor
7.4
+ Good location. Close to tram. Relatively quiet.
Steven Vogel Sweet and comfortable hotel
8.2
+ lovely comfortable rooms, pleasant service, located by the canal
- some rooms claustrophobic, located too close to Leidseplain and its noise.
Harald Jelsa On average, nothing special..
5.6
+ Centrally located, the hotel was ok, nothing special to remember, will probably try another one hotel next time.
- It was a very warm weekend in Amsterdam, unable to sleep in the morning, due to lack of aircondition, stayed on top floor, probably cooler further down...
Stanley Maleski Very attractive canal hotel in great location. Close to Tram
9.6
+ Attactive room, helpful staff, great location
john rigby Good all round hotel, very helpful staff.
7.0
+ very helpful staff and spacious room. If we came to amsterdam again, we would definitely ring to ask if rooms were available
- lack of bar
Anonymous Excellent hotel, excellent location.
9.2
+ Excellent location. Surrounded by shops, restaurants, cafes. Everything within walking distance. No noise at night. Very clean, large comfortable room. Anything needed was taken care of. Would return to this hotel if visiting Amsterdam again and would recommend to a friend.
- No bar or restaurant or drinking water available in hotel while we were staying there.
Anonymous Ideal location for restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions!!
8.2
+ Very large, clean, comfortable room, with a luxury feel. Friendly & helpful staff. Perfect location, central to everything!!! I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.
- The bed linen (although lovely and crisp and clean) was has hard and scratchy: my daughter has sensitive skin and was covered in lumps from it. I also found it a bit like sand paper.
Rudy & Jenny Van Steendam - Burms Leuk, goed gelegen hotel met zeer goede service
8.4
+ vriendelijk en hulpvaardig personeel
- Bar was niet open.

+ everthing was excellent. very central location and very large and comfortable rooms. friendly stuff. I suggest this otel to everbodys.
- No things.
Ralph Miller Nice visit
9.2
+ Room is very spacious with sufficient furniture
Patricia Nice hotel, breakfast poor and expensive
8.6
+ Very clean and comfortable with a great location. Staff very helpful and friendly.
- Breakfast was far too expensive for what was served. I only ate breakfast once because at 12.50 I thought that the food available, and the amount allowed per personwas VERY poor value for money. I ate the supposed large breakfast not the small one for 6.50. We went to the Bakery and bought our breakfast fresh each day, for a fraction of the price you charged. We saw many of the hotel guests buying their breakfast either at the bakery, or in a nearby cafe. You should survey the number of guests who eat in the hotel and what they think. Long overdue for change of either price or food available. This was the ONLY bad point in an excellent stay with your hotel.
Chris James Great comfort and great location
9.4
+ Excellent Central location and good public transport + rooms with lots of space
jean lehmann Very good hotel
8.0
+ excellent location for walking in Amsterdam take a room at the 5th floor gives you an outstanding view of the city (especially room # 502)

Dorson W Purdy I have stayed at many hotels in Amsterdam and I rate it as the one
9.6

Gracie in Germany Overall very good & we'd come back again.
9.0
+ The hotel was clean & well maintained. We didn't have the hotel-breakfast because the hotel was well located & there were plenty of other places to eat. Also really easy to get to by public transport and well placed to walk to other places as well as being near a chemist. The night reception person was very friendly & extremely helpful. The room we had was big & they added an extra bed for our little person. Beds were comfortable, clean & the room was well equipped - We even had a kettle. Overall the place was worth the money (considering it was Amsterdam)and we'd come back again.
- Pretty much all good but 2 points lost were on service & comfort: 1.The rooms facing the street were a little noisy (from the trams & late-night revellers) - double glazing wouldn't have hurt. No good if you're a light sleeper. 2. The morning receptionist wasn't at all nice and she preceeded to argue with a hotel guest over the phone.
Anonymous Great hotel on a noisy location
7.2
+ Very big, and very comfortable room. The bed was really good. Also an excellent location to do the touristy things of Amsterdam. Not hat expensive, and very friendly staff.
- The hotel is on a busy street and apart from the noise of trams, you do get a free concert of the Amsterdam Pub Closure Choir thrown in.
Eric Gould Great location and value. Noisy location. Highly recommended.
10
+ The hotel is in a fantastic location on the corner of beautiful Prinsengracht and Leidsestraat, just steps to lively Leidseplein, Kerkstraat, and Spui. There is a tram stop right outside. The room was huge with comfy beds and linens. There is a secure luggage storage room and courtesy umbrellas to borrow. Nice bath with a long deep soaking tub and handheld shower. Nice touch.
- The fabulous location is tempered by the fact that is on a very busy, lively, and loud street. My suggestion is to bring earplugs. I did and it worked great. We didn't partake in the breakfast because it was too expensive. We bought meat, cheese, and bread from the Albert Heijn and enjoyed breakfast on our balcony. Many quick and tasty eats right outside the door.
Peter Crawford Excellent Amsterdam hotel
10
+ big room & marble bath, in city, with double glass, so noise is minimal
- none
Anonymous Grand Rooms, Good location
8.4
+ Rooms were exceptionally spacious for Europe, well priced and light with large windows that could be opened for fresh air. Also, right on tram route. Easy access to central station.
- Hotel is on a corner, rooms facing a canal on one side and a busy street on the other. If you get a room on the busy street side, it is very noisy at night and revellers will keep making noise until 4am.
Nora Highly recommended - would visit again!
10
+ Polite and helpful staff. Most of the attractions are within walking distance. Our room was spacy, quiet, perfectly clean, with a large, comfy bed. It was nicely decorated in nuances of cream, burgundy and brown. Our room had a very large window, of almost 3 x 3 metres, with a view of the canal!
- The neighbourhood is crowded with tourists
Thomas Hansen Great city location, tough place to deal with having a car
8.2
+ Great location for those who want to easy access to Amsterdam. The street car runs right past the hotel. The main shopping streets run right past the hotel. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance, including a town square just one block away. There is a pastry shop across the street for those wanting a quick and inexpensive breakfast (this worked out great for us, since we could just pick up some pastries for our son). The staff is helpful. The room is very clean and comfortable. Excellent bathroom.
- Very tough parking situation. There is a garage about one block away; the cost is 45 euro's per 24-hours period. It is a leave your keys deal and access to your car thereafter is limited. When arriving at the hotel, there is an unloading space in-front of the hotel that you can use. Some guests just pulled up on the sidewalk to unload. The streets are busy and driving to this hotel should only be attempted by those who can handle city driving. Please be very careful to avoid hitting bikes, pedestrians and the rail car that is right at the hotel.
Katharine Brown A beautiful, comfortable hotel in a bustling part of the city
8.8
+ Location was fantastic for trams and for places to eat in the evenings (literally a 2 minute walk). Beautiful canal view from the room, the staff were very friendly and the room was always clean. Really enjoyed my stay there.
- No air conditioning, which I really was expecting from a 4 star hotel. Very hot at night and we were given quite thick duvets in the summer, which was odd. I can't comment on breakfast as it was too expensive so I usually got something on the run.
susan Beautiful hotel room in Amsterdam
10
+ Aesthetics, hygiene, staff, large, framed, clean windows, that could be opened, right to canal and summer trees (room 307)
- That I did not have time to stay in the absolutely wonderful and spacious hotel room
see beow tean Satisfaction on hotel stay
7.6
+ Location is good. For Eupore the rate is reasonable.
- Lobby is a bit small. Lift is too small. If possible a bit of touch up in room is better.
Richard Abramson Great hotel, great location, great price.
10
+ Central hotel, but really quiet room. Great views from the room on the 5th floor. Very nice hotel, great interior - much nicer than a generic hotel like a Mercure for example.
weekend visitors Excellent!
10
+ - an extremele spacious and clean room and bathroom: great value for one's money (we paid about 85 euros for the room) - perfect location for visiting Amsterdam: walking distance to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum, to the flower market, trams taking one to the central station in 10-15 minutes (although we walked that distance) - very calm: could hear nothing from the street or the neighboring room - good breakfast (12€50): we only needed a small pancake or sandwich at lunch time - have already recommended the hotel to several friends and will certainly stay there myself next time I go to Amsterdam
- - The elevator was not in use (February 2009)
James Pleasant stay
6.8
+ good price excellent location
- breakfast unfriendly service hotel is renovating and lift not working (at time of visit) No advance notification of this
Pete Wynne A brilliant, large clean hotel with nice staff and breakfast
10
+ Everything about the hotel was great, we can't understand why there were negative comments. The room, 503, was huge, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff and breakfast were excellent. As good a four star hotel as any we have stayed in and probably the nicest four star we've been in in Amsterdam - granted it hasn't got a pool but everything else you would want from a hotel of this grade in a traditional, non-sterile hotel was here.
Anonymous Dikker and Thijs
8.6
+ Service was very good and location is great.
- Rooms are a little small. Breakfast is expensive for what is available.
Gabor Vinci Excellent to spend a dream weekend in the heart of Amsterdam.
8.4
+ Fantastic location, standards up to the ratings, very nice rooms. If you get the suite at the 5th floor, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Amsterdam. Imagine that by night...on the terrace with a good glass of wine in a hand...
- My bed cover was dirty...(just asked for another one). Elevator is a bit strange. Parking is not available from the hotel. Only private parking lot is 200m away, but it is horribly expensive (40 euro per day). You can park near the Vondelpark, in Kaiserstraat, for 13,20 euros per day, then walk to the hotel, for about 2 km.
Anonymous My Favorite Hotel in Amsterdam & I've stayed in many
9.6
+ +Large, beautiful room with balcony +Central location +Next to public transportation, but within walking distance of everything
- -Like all hotels in Amsterdam, prices vary with events in the city & breakfast is extra -Internet is not included in room price
Anonymous
8.6
+ very centrally located; double glazed windows kept out noise noted by many guests (though it was not possible to open the windows for ventilation).
- Room had only shower, no bathtub. Pricey breakfast, but plenty of other less-expensive options within a 5-minute walk.
Raymond WHITE Great location, but far too expensive.
8.6
+ Great location
- All night street party on the first night - Not much sleep. When I finally received my account in Australian Dollars I was quite shocked. Very Very expensive. On my next trip to Amsterdam I will be looking for something a lot more economical. although the location was great, it was not worth the price.
Simon Jones If i were to live in Amsterdam, it would be around here.
9.8
+ Very attractive location. Next to the tram lines and many quieter but nice bars, but easy to find your way to dam square. Definately the smarter part of the city, a nice area for an evening stroll.

+ The room was good, and the location and view over Prinsengracht was excellent. The staff were happy to help. Our dry cleaning was not ready before we left for home, and this got sent over to us which was excellent service. I would recommend staying here if you have a few pennies to spare.
- We had made a request and this had not be adhered to until we had to point this out, despite booking months beforehand. However it was rectified and had an excellent view.

+ Room was clean, well maintained, supplied daily with bath products, i.e., shampoo and bath gel. Great location--near all attractions and facilities.

9.0
+ perfect location for all visitor attractions, also fabulous transport links if required.
- slight smell in the room which was dealt with immediately once highlighted (if you could call it a minus point) didn't distract from the overall enjoyment of our stay. thank you
Sidney Anderson
8.2
+ Staff is always good. Hotel is a nice location. The bedroom was nice and clean.
- The bath room need some improvements (toilet seat was busted.)
MICHAEL PARKER
9.8
+ great location, easy to walk everywhere that we wanted to go. The people on the desk were really helpful and couteous. No problem in storing our luggage until we checked in (we got there at 7AM.) Ordered cabs for us and were of course helpful with any touristy things. Great location and a nice feel of old Amsterdam. The elevator and full size stairs were a big plus for me. Sure made moving your luggage around so much easier. Liked it a lot and hope to be back. Thanks!
- Definitely would like to have had an individual room safe- for convience, for my liking. I travel with a laptop and cameras and it is nice to be able to secure them - although i was never really concerned about leaving them in the room. The card key room entry was a comforting factor (vs keys!) Would have been nice if your internet was free to your guests for a guick email home etc - a 20 min limit or something.
Peter
8.8
+ Reasonable price, convenient location, very good breakfast
- A little noisy
Richard Ignatzmice
9.2
+ Clean, comfortable, nice size room. Pleasant staff.
- The only fault is your policy against cannabis, which is available freely in nearby coffee shops. Not being able to smoke in the room is the reason I changed my stay from 8 days to 2 days and went elsewhere to a cannabis friendly hotel, which is just about every other hotel except yours. In 10 years of visits to Amsterdam, I never saw a card in the room like yours saying that you cannot smoke cannabis. Anyway, very nice hotel.
