Standard but good hotel in an awesome location.
  • + Excellent location next to Leidsplein, easily the heart of Amsterdam. The hotel is very standard, old but good sized rooms with great opening windows. Free access to internet/computers in the lobby was great, and the staff was very accommodating. Amsterdam is expensive overall, but I'm definitely glad we stayed here. Great for young couples looking for alternatives to the standard party hostels.
  • The room was not the most spotless: the carpeting looked old/kind of dirty. Breakfast was also way overpriced.

Great location for the price if you can handle filthy carpet!
  • + Good location for places to eat and see the major museums.
  • Carpet was filthy and it made the room environment most unpleasant. Same breakfast everyday and should have some changes when you have people staying longer than two days.

Budget hotel, not a 3 star in my book
  • Internet policy is not straight-forward. It did not state there was a charge per day for internet in the room. very disappointing. Hotel was noisy, not as clean as i expected, carpet needs replacing, you sink in the bed, so not comfortable.

A decent hotel if you are willing to sacrifice comfort for location
  • + Great location, right next to Leidseplein. Relatively clean. Bus to airport right outside hotel. Free internet in the lounge. Buffet style breakfast at a fee.
  • very uncomfortable beds. Small room, tiny elevator which require a room key which can be annoying if you are coming and going often. Some of the staff was friendly and helpful, some not so much.

Some good, some bad
  • + Good breakfast, Staff were helpful in organizing our trip to Keukenhof. English spoken very well by all staff.
  • Four requests over two days to get the TV to work were ignored; it didn't work when we left. The carpet was quite dirty/stained and needs to be replaced. Room 101 is very noisy with street traffic and smokers at the front door make the room smell bad when the window is open.

No chance of a close shave
  • Bathroom had central ceiling spot giving poor light and which cast no light on the basin mirror. So not possible to shave in the bathroom. I had to take my shaving gear and razor out to the bedroom and stand in fromt of the main mirror They need to sort that out

Value for Money
  • + Excellent location. Though it is on the main road, i don't hear much of the traffic from my room. Clean. Value for money.
  • Single room is quite small. Breakfast is too expensive.

  • (Travelling alone)
city hotel with friendly services and good location
  • The carpets in rooms were very, very dirty. They should be replaced immediately. No allergic or asthmatic person can stay in your hotel with these carpets on floors. It is not the fault of cleaning personnel, but of long use and the impossibility to wash these kinds of carpets. Instead you should have tiles.

Great place but with a sting in the tail
  • + Friendly staff, proximity to attractions, comfortable rooms
  • Expensive breakfast, poor quality breakfast, no signage and communication about breakfast prices, no air con so had to have windows open onto very busy street.

I WOULD USE IT AGAIN
  • + Very good breakfast. Excellent location.
  • Smallroom. The entrance to the hotel should be difficult for old people or those with some incapacity.

Stay at this hotel
  • + Very close to the Leidesplein
  • There weren't any chairs in the garden

Overpriced. Cleanness should be improved.
  • There was a strong stench in the bathroom on the 1st day which fortunately went away but that was quite incommodating. The floor carpet in the room deserves a good scrubbing.

Excellent hotel - great location, clean modern rooms
  • + I have stayed in many hotels in Amsterdam and dread the moment I open my hotel door for the first time because I've had so many bad experiences. But the Eden was a pleasant surprise. The room was a good size for an inner city Amsterdam hotel, the furbishings were modern and newish, the bathroom was functional and clean and there was a lift. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. This is now my regular hotel everytime I visit Amsterdam.
  • There is no airco in the rooms and since the hotel is situated on a busy road I can imagine in the summer time it could be quite noisy to sleep with the window open. The walls are quite thin (but this is also normal for Amsterdam) so you could hear a lot of what your neighbours are up to.
