The France Hotel is located in a historic building on a centrally located, yet quiet canal street. The hotel has 55 single, double, or triple rooms, each of which has its own bathroom, television, radio, and telephone. good for people on a budget

very close to the red light district and also to the train station.

Our room was right next to the stairway which got noisy at times, als our room was smaller and way more basic then last year for the same price (No bath, just shower, room for 2 but one side of the bed was against the wall so hard to get out) and the wall by the bed had some NASTY stuff on it!!!

Great value, just far enough away from Red Light Dist.

Very good value. Great location near Central Station. Excellent choice for young people on a budget. Dorm style room with private bath. Staff helpful. Came with breakfast included at the Irish pub next door.

No frills. Bed was a little uncomfortable. Slowest elevator I have ever seen. The walls would use a fresh coat of paint, there was some dirt / foreign material on the walls.

Sub-standard rooms in a fantastic location

The location of the hotel could not have been better. It is only a few minutes walk from the train station and the Red Light District. The free hotel breakfast in the pub next door was decent enough and with variety. A good start to the day.

The bedrooms are not at all as they seem on the website. I had originally booked a triple room but had to move to a 4 person room as the third bed (a small fold-out) was broken and unmade. The windows in this room didn't open. The 4 person room was in the basement and so had no windows at all and also no hot water for our entire stay. Not good value for money at all.

The breakfast is very good.

Only has a trash can in bathroom, and it is out of order. The housekeeper is lacking in responsibility, the bad and the bedside cupboard is coverde with dust. Besides, the wind always comes inside frome the window, it's very cold.

Location is excellent - 5 mins walk from the station. The room was clean and overlooked the canal but typically of hotels in central locations was a little small. Breakfast(served in the pub next door) was plentiful and good quality. Would use again - good value

Nothing positive but good location

-Location is great as it's very close to the main squares and key transportation points of Amsterdam

-Hygine sucks!! There was a big blood stain on the sheet! -Only after we get to the hotel we found out that the room has no windows! It's quite claustrophobic. -Although we wanted to reserve a double room, it was twin. -My advice for any others: Just give some more money and look for a better one. It's not comparable with any other 3 star hotel globally.
