'Monumental Suit' Grand Amrath hotel
  • + very spacious, clean, friendly staff, great complimentary mini bar, restocked every day. good location. Alot of interesting history about the hotel. the bathroom was excellent the best we have stayed in.
  • – A guy from concierge showed us the room before we chose and he didnt know the room contents like where the mini bar was, Also it was up to us to find it and to work out the controls of the air conditioning. Their wasnt a cosy couch either, just leather chairs in the living room. we stayed in the 'Monumental Suit'

Three Star luxury at best

  • – Cracked and loose floor tiles in the bathroom and stained surfaces - was clean but did not feel it. At best 3 star quality. Curtains were supposed to be remote controlled - manual! Room location (Room 10) noisy and lighting dull. Floor -1 and felt underground. TV picture quality and sound quality very poor. Nowhere to put your clothes - drawer space - 1 small drawer, wardrobe half size and that is for 2 people.

  • – Building is very old and not well modified for hotel use. Hallways are dark aand numerous. Rooms are stark with tile floors. Not at all romantic, even though we were upgraded to the "romantic" four poster bed room.

  • + Reception and concierge was very good. To have a free bar is very tempting and makes it easier for the guest to relax. Free internet was also very good idea.
