Great place in The Pijp

• + Nice large room with bathroom to match. Enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood with much to see and do. Plenty of restaurants.
• – Although a bit of a distance from Centraal Station I felt the walk was refreshing but knew I had the option of taking a tram (#16) if I felt the need.
• * my tip The Pijp is a great neighbourhood for dining out.

• + friendly staff. nice decor. clean. tram is just across the road. the supermarket is less than 5 mins away. above my expectations
• – Need to take tram to city centre. not a big minus because the trip is only 15mins

• – location removed from city center had to take trains to get to all the attractions, no money exchange services/banks close by

Comfy beds - really comfy beds

Good stay with some down-sides.

• + next to tram-stop, both to museum-quarter and central station. Free WiFi, works for mobile devices as well. Good shower.
• – TV generated so much heat that the airco could not keep the room cool and opening the window is not an option because of the noise. Foam mattress.

A good hotel for exploring Amsterdam

• + The bed and pillows were good and there was lot of natural light in the room. The room was spacious as far as mid price European hotels go and the building had been recently renovated. The location is right next door to a police station which gives a feeling of security and there is convenient tram stop outside. Good places to eat and drink nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very quiet with windows that opened!
• – The guest computer in the hotel was not working for the entire week. On-line check in for the airport was nearly impossible as a result. Given how busy Scicpol is, this is unacceptable. The wi-fi had poor signal quality in the room. However, the wi-fi was free. If you don't mind working in the lobby/ bar the wi-fi is okay.

Nice hotel, good value; easy access to city center sites

• + The Hotel Savoy is in the Pijp area--a bit out of the center, but we found that with the tram stop in front of the hotel, the center was easy access. For a 4 star hotel, we found the room comfortable, clean, with spaces to place our luggage, and a small desk to write. The hotel staff were very pleasant to us, and very helpful. Although we did not purchase the breakfast, it looked like very good value for 15 Euro. The hotel invited us to have coffee and tea at any time of the day. The hotel is near the Albert Cuyp Market, Fredrickplein, and Museumplein--all within easy walking distance. The 25 Tram takes you right to the hotel from Amsterdam Central so the trip to and from this part of the city is easy and comfortable. We thought that the hotel was good value, considering the prices of other 4 star hotels. Being away from the center has its definite advantages. There are wonderful Italian, Indonesian, Thai, and other restaurants that will save you Euros in the long run. Great bakeries and the Albert Hein right around the corners. We found a delightful Indonesian restaurant that was at least 5-15 Euros less than other restaurants we scoured on our 9-day stay in the Netherlands. So, staying here may save you money in the long run as it feels very local and the prices less of a shock than in the city. Very nice hotel, free wi-fi, and very accommodating when we needed to store our luggage before our return trip.
• – Our road faced the road and was somewhat noisy at night. We were on the first floor and the internet did not always work. However, there was another free wi-fi (NetGear) which worked all the time in our room.

• + lots of great restaurants just down the street

Overbooked and not great service.

• – Hotel cancelled one of our rooms at the last minute and seemed overbooked (blamed travel agent but i checked with hotel.nl and they had not cancelled it). Had to book one of the party into another hotel which was a big inconvenience as it was not close by.

Delightfull boutique hotel that offers outstanding service and value f

• + What a delightful boutique style hotel.The hotel room while small was beautifully appointed and presented. The service from the staff was attentative and welcoming. The array of items available for breakfast was extensive and delicious and the ambience of the restaurant was delightful as was the entrance lounge area for relaxing and having a drink.
• – The cigarette butts dropped outside the room on the artifical grassed rooftop area were unsightly.

Reasonable value for money - for Amsterdam standards

• + Clean and reasonable value for money, compared to Amsterdam standards. Close to RAI conference centre (but not to city centre), breakfast better than standard for Amsterdam (but not compared to same price category in Germany).
• – Room was not ready when I arrived at 6pm, and staff at reception tried to give me an unacceptable replacement room. Otherwise, staff was friendly and helpful.

Not too close to Central Station, but worth the extra mileage

• + The adjustable beds were such a treat for us! We also loved the room's decor and the neighborhood of De Pijp. Most of all, the hotel staff went beyond the extra mile for us, helping us to recover a suitcase we left on the bus after a long day of travel.
• – A little further from Central Station than would have been ideal, but the neighborhood was lovely and would really be worth it for those staying more than one night.

Nice hotel for a short stay

• – breakfast isn't really great- fruit is not fresh, good coffee and bread though... only old newspapers (if you travel on your own it is nice to have recent ones) personnel is not really friendly - not even a 'welcome' or 'enjoy your stay'...

• + Breakfast comes with the room and there is a common room/lounge with free snacks and drinks (yes, including beer, wine and hard liquor)! Even the mini bar in the room is free.
• – Rooms are a bit small compared to USA rooms but they are functional, have modern conveniences and are clean.

Great value for money!

• – The door to the stair case tends to be quite loud and disturbed my sleep. I was in room 002. Everything else regarding my room was perfect.

A well run and an ideal place for a stay in Amsterdam!

• + Excellent service throughout and all staff very attentive to customers' needs. Operation manager does a super job; all inclusive nature a real plus point!

Small hotel with comfortable rooms, good for short stay.

• + The room are furnished very very well. Modern TV with DVD, comfortable beds and modern bathroom.
• – Little bit louder air-conditioner. There are two rooms situated in basement with small window under the road. This is the main minus point. I have been expected some discount for this type of room.
