Dutch Design Hotel Artemis Amsterdam is a contemporary and luxurious hotel on the western outskirts of Amsterdam. Schiphol Amsterdam Airport is easy to reach from the hotel, both by car and public transport. Guests can park their car in the underground carpark, at an additional fee. A bus and tram stop are close to the hotel and you can catch a subway from the stop Henk Sneevlietweg, which is only a 10 minute walk away, making the historic centre of Amsterdam easy to get to. As well as the beautiful canals, you will also find an abundance of shops, restaurants and museums here. At night the illuminated bridges provide this city with a romantic atmosphere.

A modern Dutch style and a hospitable service characterize the hotel. The special use of lighting, colours and the flexible lay-out of the rooms and spaces create an atmosphere where guests will feel at ease. All throughout the building one can find objects of Dutch designers such as Piet Hein Eek and Marcel Wanders. The hotel also houses surprising exhibitions, which are changed every 3 months. The hotel has eight floors with comfortable rooms, which are equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, coffee- and tea making facilities and a safe. Free wireless internet is available for guests. The use of the hotel's fitness facilities is also included during a stay.

“ I stayed at this hotel with my friend for three nights, a long weekend. Clean hotel, newly furbished rooms, clean bathrooms always a plus. The airconditioning of the room worked well. The fridge was effective and was just big enough for breakfast supplies. With this price you would never get a similar high quality room in the city center. Excellent reception service. The room was ready early in the morning already at the time of checkin. ” Eeva September 8, 2014

High quality, affordable price
  • + I stayed at this hotel with my friend for three nights, a long weekend.
  • The pillows were too high for me but for someone else they may work well. The nearest tram stop was a 10-minute walk away from the hotel and after a long day in the city the walk was sometimes tough.
  • * my tip Rent a bike at the hotel and drive to the south to the big forest Amsterdamse Bos.

  • + The staff were extemally helpful when you had a problem or needed advice, meals were huge with great quality
  • Even though the meals were excellent and lovely quaility, it was a little expensive
  • * my tip The bar was very welcoming as well as the hotel staff, the reception was different from a usual hotel reception, the music suited every quest and whilst I was a guest I did not hear one complaint.

Travelling in Amsterdam
  • + The rooms are spacious, furniture looks pretty new, the lobby bar has decent prices even though it s still a 4stars hotel, location even not in the centre it s still very safe, placed actually in an office area of the city (a lot of building offices, eg PWC. It was a very nice present having found at the arrival a bottle of sparkle water in the room. The staff is very polite and helpful, giving you all information needed. Please take care that bus 145 which station is placed nearby the hotel it
  • Despite the location, maybe I could mention the price of the breakfast, which is quite expensive comparing with the prices for the breakfast in the centre of Amsterdam.
  • * my tip Not too many attractions in the area.

Great base for bicycle based Amesterdam touring
  • + - Quiet neighbourhood - No unpleasent surprices, everything worked - Pleasant staff - Bicycles for rent - Parking available - Big safe - Ice cubes generator on each floor (yes, I actually used this thing) - Shoes cleaning machine actually cleaned my shoes insted of scratching hem
  • - Relatively expensive bicycle rental (16 Eur day, less if you rent bikes for more days (i.e. 13 Eur day for 2 days)- which the staff wont tell you unless you ask explicitely)
  • * my tip - The hotel s underground parking is safe but just too expensive (25 Eur day). Alternative supercheap parking lot within 3 minutes walking distance (just google Best Parking when you are nearby - its across the road when going eastwards) - Even though the bike rental is expensive, the comfort of not having to return the bikes exactly on time god knows where in Amsterdam makes this a really good service - Forget about trams and trains, you can get to the city center on bikes easily in 15 min

  • + Beds were very comfortable. I liked the kettle to heat water, it was very quick to heat.
  • Bathroom door did not stay closed at all. I would have liked a bedside table between the two beds. What was the point of having a space between the beds but no table It doesn t have to be big, just something to put my glasses and phone on.

Check cost of transport between Schiphol and hotel.
  • Public transport between the hotel and Schiphol was not available on days we stayed. Cost of the taxi between the Schiphol and hotel and back again make this hotel very expensive.

Stylish and comfortable hotel between airport and town.
  • + Lovely bathroom and towels. Coffee and tea were topped up daily.
  • I would have liked to have transport information translated into English.
  • * my tip To use your Amsterdam travel card you need to walk to the no. 2 tram stop as the Connexion bus 145 is run by a different company.

  • * my tip Good 4 star hotel, with underground car park, nice room very comfortable beds, in room safe and fridge, coffee tea inroom, even some English TV Channels. Ten minute walk to Tram and 20 minutes to Central Station and Dam square. Not happy with 10 Euros for 1 Hour late check out, can sit in my car for that.

  • + Very good hotel. Nice rooms with very comfortable beds. Close to public transport.
  • Not very clean (there is dust everywhere) and low water pressure in the shower.
  • * my tip There is direct bus line number 195 from the airport Schiphol to the hotel. There is nothing interesting around the hotel, but you can buy one, two or three day tram ticket and get everywhere you like in Amsterdam.

A bit far from citycenter but still with good conections!
  • + We got a 40% off deal (Deal of the Day), otherwise a bit expensive. Comfortable room with water heater and coffee/tea pouches.
  • Location far from city center but still with good conections, at daytime trams at night there is a night bus. We had to pay in advance at check-in. No bars or restaurants nearby. Expensive breakfast.

Was ok, but not more than ok.
  • + Nice bedroom, nice bathroom
  • Why is breakfast not included? Why so expensive? € 19,00 p.p. Why is there a price difference in ordering breakfast at check-inn and ordering breakfast in the morning? Personal at counter was not very friendly. Free Wifi did not work (on I-Pad)

Disappointing stay in a 4 star hotel
  • + Good breakfast
  • Terrible room, got a smoking room, no info on that when booking. Sofabed one of the worst beds I have ever slept in. No picture on the TV, only sound. Drain in tub/shower superslow. shameful that a 4 star hotel offers such a room. All in all a very disappointing stay. Based on this experience I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice and trendy but poor location if you want to be central...
  • + NIce design and good comfortable beds
  • The booking agent informed us that the hotel was close to the city centre, which it was not, there was absolutely nothing around the hotel to do, it was in an industrial zone! We cancelled our booking for the next night and found a much nicer hotel in the centre.

No respect for privacy and bad service!
  • + The space of the room and it LOOKING (but not being) classy.
  • They always bothered me during my stay! The first time I stayed there, the cleaner opened the door in the morning without warning. Then we hung out the 'Do Not Disturb' sign and he STILL opened the door twice after that! Mind you that this is when we were checking at that morning at noon, so they shouldn't be coming until after we check out anyways. I complained about this to the front desk. The seccond time, they still opened the door twice in the morning while I was checking out that same morning. At the front desk they said they would write it down, but he didn't. Also, the bell boy (whoever it was) was talking real loud to me, being rude, asking where I live and why I was going to my destination when I asked him to call me a taxi. Very, very, very rude! This is highly unacceptable. Also, the bath was not clean, and bless the restaurant for trying to have innovative food, but healthy low calorie food is not on there, and neither are normal meals. Many of their meals are not tasty anymore due to too much trying to be innovative. I ate there twice and normally I love everything. But come on, beer in my food? This is another minus point. There won't be a third time of me staying there! Also, the tv has only Ned 1, 2 and 3. Nobody watches that. sbs, veronica, net 5 is what people watch. But if you want to watch anything besides what they offer you have to pay and the volume of the tv is too low in both rooms i stayed to be able to hear much. So the tv is useless. The computer chair is way too hard, the room is very cold in design. I can go on and on... The service is just really bad.

  • + Brand new building makes the hotel pleasant and comfortable.
  • Front desk staff are unhelpfull and I would just stop before saying :rude:. The system allowed me tobook this hotel at 11.00pm on sunday 13th from london. I put wrong date by mistake .Instead of 15th i put 14th departure.I was charged full amount for 2 rooms for no show for a mistake that i believe the system should not permitt, very dissapointed.

  • + - nice hotel. - rooms are pretty unique with wooden floors.
  • - had to wait for +30min in queue to check out. - quality breakfast was average for this type of hotel.

  • + Location - away from city center but relatively easy to get there by public transport. Clean Most of personnel is helpful
  • Although the room was comfortable I felt a bit like in the office. There is no that "homelike" athmosphere. Smoking in lobby. Location again - could be closer to center. Price a bit too high for that standard.

  • (Older couples)
  • + Very nice modern hotel. We got a discount on the standard room rate which made the cost of our 2 night stay very reasonable.
  • A good half hour from the city centre and a long walk to the hotel from the nearest tram stop (particularly if carrying luggage!). In my opinion the standard room rates are overpriced, as is the breakfast which is not included in the room rate.
7.6
  • (Travelling alone)
  • + Staff were exceptionally gracious and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The room I had offered a fine view of the city (not all rooms do). Very welcoming. Older building that was in good repair and nicely renovated. Though a ways from central station, close to main attractions in Utrecht.
  • Bed was uncomfortable; no adequate place to do desk work or chair with reading light for pleasure reading. Bathroom a bit small.
