+ Central and cheap, beautiful old canal-house.
- Steep stairway to all five floors, bed was too hard, no safe.
Anonymous Good for a short stay in Amsterdam
6.2
+ Convenient location, within walking distance to Amsterdam Centraal, close to public transport. Beautiful view of the canal from the twin room. Rooms were warm. Overall, exceeds expectations for a 2 star hotel.
- Bedding could be improved.
Paul We loved our cramped stay
7.2
+ Great price. Nice hotel, attractive, clean and modern. Great personnel, friendly, well mannered and providing help.
- Small, but cosy. Some of the bathrooms are to small for averaged size people. No elevator to the 5th floor (71 steps to be taken ;)) To cold when freezing outside (only one extra blanket available).
oliver oliver See you soon..
10
+ there was no minus points anyway. The bed was hard as on the reviews but i love hard beds, so lucky me. The breakfast was fair enough for me. People are complaining all the time. I really don't understand how people find this hotel dirty. my house is even more dirty:D The location wouldn't be better. In the city with no noise..
Rahat Uyku Best 2 stars :D
10
+ It was such a nice old Amsterdam canal house from th 18th century. the room was a bit small. But who cares. I had a great time. Even when i was completely drunk i could walk back home. It was such a quiet neighbourhood. excellent..
Jorge Manchiz Greattttt!!!

8.2
+ Great location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely clean large room.
- steep stairs to rooms(no lift), breakfast choice rubbish and not worth the 9 euros.
Rick Location, price & service are well-balanced at The Hermitage
8.0
+ fair price for a good location in a quiet neighborhood; easy to get anywhere from The Hermitage; modern furnishings, easy to book on-line, front desk service, staff were overall very patient and helpful
- bathroom/shower very difficult to maneuver especially for tall people; housekeeping staff could have been a tad more patient with travelers who may need access to their room while they're cleaning it, otherwise no other issues
Emrah & Burcak Özdamar Good location and positive staff
7.8
+ Very helpful staff. Good location. Room is in good condition.
- Very expensive because of an conference.
LUCIA Want to make noise, stay at the Hermitage Hotel in Amsterdam
4.8
+ It is located in Amsterdam Centrum on the right hand side of the Hermitage Museum.
- I was given a single room above the main entrance door. In the evenings and specially at night, people were smoking and talking at the entrance door. I could listen clearly to their conversations and smell the smoke with the window and blinde completely closed. Guests were very rude: talking and laughing loudly, running on the corridors until half past one or two in the morning. I had to ask for a hairdryer at the reception desk every evening and I had to leave 10 Euros deposit for using the TV remote control. I also had to pay the whole stay, 5 days, in advance, that is, the day of arrival. The shower was not cleaned in 5 days. Breakfast was not included. It was two expensive for the quality and service.
Antoniya Bozhkova A short but relaxing visit in Hermitage Hotel, Amsterdam...
8.8
+ Very good location, pleasant and cosy rooms, kind staff...
- Lack of lobby, overpriced
jeannet Nice location but need to be fixed
5.6
+ The location was fine. Walking distance to center. Nice neighborhood. Friendly service at the counter
- The room was about to fall apart. Lamps missing. Tiles in the bath was missing. We had water coming through the ceiling from the room above. The family room was in the basement, very low ceiling therefor warm and less air. No aircon.
Anonymous It could be a better experience. I would choose a better place.
6.6
+ This hotel is located at a great spot.
- The price is too high for the size of its rooms. It should be 30 to 40 % cheaper. Breakfast should be included. Service is not bad but it can be better. Checking out at 3pm is inconvenient.
Pinter Balazs Two days in Amsterdam
8.2
+ Very friendly and helpful reception.
Marc LeVier Back breaker
3.2
+ good location; helpful people
- steep stairs and no lifts; minimal breakfast not worth the price; beds are back breakers; lugage to third floor for a fit person
Eva Cozy, nice service
9.6

- small rooms and tiny stairs
Kanako GOTO Lovely and quite nice located hotel

Ernst Kochen
7.4
+ Nice and quiet room, well located
- hard bed
DJ Good location but badly maintained.
4.6
+ Located in central Amsterdam, easy to get to and to find.
- Definitely over priced, the rooms were badly maintained and the staff were very uncooperative. The wall paper in our room was peeling and the lights did not work and walls are so thin I couldn't really fall asleep.
Anonymous Hermitage Hotel passes the test
7.8
+ Alper (concierge/front desk) was helpful and friendly.
- Stairs with heavy bags is intense.
Olsi Mico Value of money for adventure groups of friends

Ricardo Rabeno AMS XXX
9.0
+ The staff was great, especially Alper and Rosa, thanks for all!
David Moore Great Hotel (apart from the mosquitos!)
8.2
+ Really good hotel for the price. I stayed in a triple room (3 single beds) and they made great use of the space! The recent refurbishment means that the rooms are very clean and well kept, so ignore all the negative comments for when the hotel was called 'Fantasia'... This is a new hotel with new decor etc.
- It is a typical Dutch house... narrow corridors and steep stairs, so probably not suitable for older travellers. The biggest negative are the mosquitos!! Do not make the same mistake as I did, and think that they will not be about in the colder weather... THEY ARE!!! Take some insect spray and leave the window closed, as being covered in large red blotches is not a good look!
Maria Hadjitheocharous Excellent choice
9.2
+ Excellent rooms, very clean and very nice location!!! Also prices are reasonable
- That they move us to another room, but they move are things for us. We didn't know anything about it and some of our things were missing at the end. Hotel stuff was very polite and kind though.
Jake Ball A pleasant stay in a clean hotel with friendly staff.
8.4
+ Very kind and helpful staff. Clean and tidy hotel. Great peaceful location. Near all the sights. Lovely warm room. Extremely pleasant stay, would definately go back.
- Room 404 shower is across the hall. Only room like this so I would advise booking over phone and ask not to get this room. Shower/toilet room was small but did the job. Thin walls, but this is to be expected and had luckily extremely quiet neighbours.
victoria rance Gotta be the best value for money in Amsterdam!!
9.2
+ Great decor. Great location. Amazing price. Friendly staff. Brilliant shower. Loved our stay.
- Only because you are asking - tele didnt work. One lamp by bed didnt work.
Georges Hendrickx Good family city trip hotel in the center
8.2
+ Price Situation in the center of the city.
- Size of the bathroom Insonorisation of the rooms.
Randeep Singh Great classy hotel. Loved every trip
8.4
+ Staff very friendly. Rooms have good wallpapper for tripping and generally give it a nice feel. The location is brilliant (ocated right near the best coffeeshop in amsterdam), the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors are great, the thrid floor however is a bit more cramped Next to tram tracks, was brilliant for our group. Stayed with a group of 5 in a five person room and there was lots of space, and the three person rooms are good too. I would recommend this to anyone. Good heating. Next to a beautiful canal and just a friendly place to stay. Very secure too. Kept our laptops and phones in the rooms and they were all untouched. Brilliant hotel.
- Toilet was very cramped. Our toilet seat was broken but was not a big deal. You get over having a small bathroom though. If you're a big guy like me and my brother then you might have to take some time adjusting to it.
ALEXANDER JENKINS Ideal short break hotel
8.0
+ close enough to all attractions, rembrandt square 5min walk.
Anonymous Great, typical amstedam hotel fell.
8.2
+ Really helpsul staff, great feel to the place, modern, really good for the money.
- Only minus would be paying 4% extra as we paid by card!
Mauro Hermitage
8.6
+ nice rooms... friendly staff.. clean.. new... good price...
- no internet
Maxence Deleplanque Good and cheap Hotel
7.4
+ Close to the city center, nice and quite location. There is a very nice cat wondering around the hotel. Personnel is welcoming and discrete.
Anonymous
6.6
+ location
- When I booked my room, the website said the rooms had WiFi-internet connection. Upon arrival, there turned out to be no Internet. The hotel staff said that previously, guests used an unlocked wifi connection (from some neighbour, not their own!), but since this connection is locked with a password now, there's no internet. I think it is wrong to advertise with a service you cannot offer your guests. I booked the room BECAUSE there was supposed to be an Internet connection, so I was quite disappointed. Breakfast not worth the 9 euros.
claire This hotel was great value for money in a great location.
7.6
+ plus points are that the hotel was clean, nicely decorated and friendly staff who were helpful!
- only 2 minus points which were- rooms got a bit cold at night so extra blankets should be provided, also the 9euros for breakfast was shocking for what you got. should be either cheaper or with more options provided.
Salvatore Tavano
7.8
+ good for price, near to the centre of amsterdam, beautiful
- very small but confortable
Herbert Wright Boutique hotel away from the crowds
7.8
+ Really impressive designer decor, beautiful old street facing the Hermitage Museum, great location not swamped with rowdy tourist crowds yet just minutes from the centre,
- No wi-fi and breakfast is not included
Cristian Alecu Impressions
4.4
+ interesting design
- heating very poor hygiene - big question mark - the cat was always on the breakfast room no elevator
adam groucott Fine If you just want a cheap bed.
6.0
+ Cheap, pretty good location, clean.
- Paper thin walls, strange smell.
LOUP Gilles Hotel Hermitage Amsterdam
7.4
+ Very good welcome Personal always sympathic
rene brown Well located & friendly place
8.8
+ The staff are really friendly and helpful. It's very well located if you want to walk around the city without being in the middle of the 'tourist mass'. You can reach all main interesting sites on foot.
- Because of the canals, there were too many mosquitoes. The rooms could be sprayed before the guests arrive.
