The basic but comfortable Hotel Heart of Amsterdam has an excellent location at one of the beautiful canals, on the edge of the famous 'Red Light District'. The 'Dam' can be reached on foot in just 3 minutes. It's truly in the very heart of Amsterdam! Several well-known attractions are located near the 'Dam', such as 'Madame Tussauds' and the 'Koninklijk Paleis' (royal palace) and you can also find a wide variety of shops in this area in the 'Kalverstraat', the 'Nieuwendijk and the 'Magna Plaza' shopping centre. In the nearby Nieuwe Kerk' (new church) and the former stock exchange building 'Beurs van Berlage' you can regularly visit interesting expositions. A number of boat tours start at the Central Station, which is located at just an 8 minutes walk from the hotel.
In addition, the nightlife is just around the corner.

Hotel Heart of Amsterdam has 24 rooms with Hollywood movie decor. All are equipped with a shower, toilet, LCD-TV, in-house telephone and a safe. The hotel also offers wireless Internet on the ground floor and the first floor at no extra charge. Apart from twin/double rooms the hotel has triple and quad rooms that are suitable for small groups.

Please note that the hotel does not have an elevator, so expect traditional Amsterdam stairs!

Between 07:00 and 10:00 h. you can enjoy a breakfast buffet that is included in the room price. For lunch and dinner you can visit one of the nearby restaurants. The hostel has a vending machine with soft drinks and snacks.

Anonymous This place is falling apart...: 30 August 2011; 4.0; + The location is really great.; - During our 2 days stay: - Two days in a row there was boiler breakdown, so we had no warm water - The second day there was also a pipe breakage, so as an additional attraction we got waterfalls in our room. To be fair, they gave us the money back. Still, I definitely can't recommend this place.

CR A good deal in Amsterdam: 6 May 2011; 7.0; + The location was great and the room was comfortable.; - The room was really dark and that made it hard to pack up at the end without being sure we weren't missing things. Otherwise though, it was great.

Mark O\'Reilly Worst Experience Of A Hostel In MY LIFE: 26 October 2009; 5.0; + Location is good because its in the Red Light District, other than that i would not recommend this hostel to anyone.; - They authorize your credit card before you arrive for the first nights stay, and you don't receive it back on your card for 30 days, its an absolute disgrace, their customer service is the worst i have ever seen and i am a seasoned traveler, they don't even respond to your your emails, they steal your deposit for the security box as well. ***PLEASE AVOID THIS HOSTEL***

A tour guide lists the hotel street as part of the walking tour of the RLD. Forget about parking. The best place is a parking garage.

Besonders hat mir der Aufenthaltsraum und das gemeinsame frühstrück gefallen.; - Bei einem 8er Zimmer sollte das Bad richtig gesäubert Werden 2 mal am Tag. Es gibt keine Lüftung und kein Fenster im Bad! Im Zimmer gab es nur wenige kleine Fenster und lüften war schwierig. Ich wurde vom receptionist angemacht, was mir nicht sehr gefiel!

Anna Eindruck grundsätzlich positiv: 6 April 2009; 7.8; + reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet, Personal war sehr freundlich; - Da auch das Bad sehr dunkel gestaltet war sieht man sich nur sehr schlecht im Spiegel. Der Safe war sehr klein, Gepäck kann man nicht unterbringen, daher für längeren Aufenthalt nicht geeignet.
