+ Great location behind the Concertgebouw. Room was clean ---

- but tight-- you had to close the bathroom door to pass the foot of the bed. Lobby and elevator could be cleaner.

+ The service was grea and friendly. A huge plus was that we could leave our luggage while we explored.

- I wouldn't consider the hotel value for money. Although the room was clean, overall the hotel was scruffy in parts and could have done with refurbishment.

- Main problem, espetialy in worm days - the hotel face the South, rooms are very dry and does not have sufficient ventilation.

+ The hotel was really clean and the rooms were a reasonable size for the money. TVs in the rooms were new and the bathrooms were clean and modern. The staff were absolutely excellent - their helpfulness really made the trip easy.

+ Good location. Easy to get to from Airport.

- They gave us a room on the 5th floor with windows that did not open! It was extremely hot and stuffy. Fire door outside our room was really loud and woke me up a bunch during the night.

+ This hotel is perfect for those seeking basic accomodations and fantastic location. You are smack in the middle of the museum district and with in walking distance to the Van Gogh and The Rijks and many others not to mention being less than a minutes walk to the tram line that will take you directly to the city centre. The breakfast was included with our rooms which of course was the standard european breakfast cold cuts, bread, jams, spreads, juice, milk, coffee and tea. Just what you need to get out the door quick.

- A bit warm in the summer due to no air conditioning but one of our rooms did have a fan which was a blessing

- very small rooms, windows cannot be closed perfectly therefore cold is coming in, noise coming in from corridor

+ Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value - nice rooms for budget price. Clean bathrooms. Walking distance to museums, restaurants, shops etc.

- Drains were a bit smelly (but staff immediately moved us to better room).

+ Cheap-ish and cheerful. Friendly service from 24 hour reception. Clean. Towels & bedding included. No security in the room if you are sharing with others. Right by Vondelpark and Van Gogh museum. Easy to get to on the trams (2 or 5) from Central Station. Free internet access.

- Swinging doors banging constantly at the end of the corridor. Breakfast was a bit dull. A little bit of a walk out of the main town.

- Can you belive, that kitchen "staff" scream at me, in front of all eating people, because i've asked her to not taking away a bread?! Dirty sheets and towels in dining room during breakfest is normal there. "Quad room" means 2 by 2 meters dogbox with 2 bankbeds. There is no room even for luggage! Forget about opening window. In the bathroom water is leaking from the broken sink... Awful place! The only plus is location.

+ The clerks were very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast offered good variety. I heard that it was noisey from the internet comments, but I slept very well. I want to return!

- A little more variety in the bar would be nice.

+ Hotel is located in Central place. Hotel is kept clean. The staff is cooperative. Breakfast is good and included in the price of the room.

- Rooms are little small. In some rooms remote is not available with the TV.

+ The room was pretty, though tiny. Hair dryer gave an extra plus. Amazingly quiet even though the walls were paper thin. People were very considerate.

- TV-screen was grainy. Coffee machine gave the drink drop by drop by drop...

+ The breakfast was better, what I waited.

- Somebode knocked on the door at 10.00 am, that we have to go soon. We had than 1 hour, and I didn`t understand, why have to remind us 1 hour earlier. The room was to small for 4 person, and for 4 person package. We couldn`t put anywhere our dresses.

+ The hotel was very good with very nice rooms. You could see that it was recently renovated, the furniture was new. Also the service was on a level with the price, and as additional bonus the breakfast was excellent.

- Location of the hotel was a small problem. It is not located in the center zone of the Amsterdam, but you could get to the center using tram or bus (20 min ride).

- Dirty hallway carpets, noisy guests. Sheets were very old, although very clean. We had a mouse in room, that is the most dissapointing thing.

- Dirty hallway carpets, tiny room with separate toilet (with access open to everyone), altough we booked (and paid) a room with toilet inside. noisy guests. Breakfast room with dirty floor. Basically, a youth hostel, when you are expecting a hotel.

+ I had booked a triple room for a 4 nite stay, but only needed a double room when we arrived. The staff relocated us around the corner to their partner hotel called the Trianon. I saved many Euro. Located away from the craziness near the Museumplein. Courteous staff. Very Clean rooms.

- A far walk home from the Red Lights.

- Far from central station. HAve to take a tram and we never figured out the appropriate stop to walk their directly from stop. Staff weren't very helpful, but weren't mean either.

- Maintenance. there is lamps that don´t work. I ask to recepction and they don´t do nothing. When We arrive at hotel there is not remote control to TV. I ask to reception and they only give a remote control in the second day. The shower has no separation, so when we take a bath the water spray all the bathroom. The service at reception is no good.

- very stinky toilets. No exhaust that makes a horrible living inside the room. The wooden floor creates noisy atmosphere and i had difficulties in having a good sleep. On the whole, I will never stay in your hotel again. And also service desk are not very cooperative. i asked for a phone number of the hotel that I want to receive an important urgent call from my friend and they denied to give the number. Another thing is on the web site it is said non smoking hotel. The people at the reception are smoking. so what is the use of keeping non-smoking area behind them.

+ The breakfast was wonderful!!! I really enjoyed it and made an effort to get up early to have it. This hotel was much better than the ratings that I consulted on the INTERNET. I also loved the view from my bedroom window! I was very pleased with my room, the location of the hotel, etc.

- Some of the guests were very noisy one evening, but this is hardly the fault of the hotel.

- Filthy looking hallway carpets, no phones in rooms, intermittent internet, tiny, tiny room with hard bed, basic, plain breakfast, noisey guests. Basically, a youth hostel, when you are expecting a hotel.

+ Die Lage ist absolut gut, direkt in der Nähe des Museumsplatzes; am Empfang wurde einem kompetent und nett geholfen!

- Die Wände im Zimmer waren leider sehr schmutzig, des weiteren war die Leselampe defekt und das Bad wurde in der Dusche nicht trocken (m. E. ein Schaden im Boden).

+ Wir fühlten uns wohl hier, Preis - Leistung stimmte für das was wir wollten. Für Fans die Amsterdam sehen und erleben wollen ist das ein hervorragendes Hostel. Ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt um die Stadt Amsterdam zu erobern. Der Personal war höflich, nett und zuvorkommend.

- Sicher könnte manches besser sein ( Bad Geruch, es waren Kleinigkeiten). Aber vielleicht sollte man dann auch mehr bezahlen:-).

+ mooie locatie

- Wij hebben een ontzettend fijn weekend gehad door de stad Amsterdam zelf. Ons verblijf in het hotel was VERSCHRIKKELIJK! Wij kwamen aan en werden in het engels aangesproken, we zijn toch in Nederland?? uitleg etc, prima. wij naar onze kamer, en we schrokken hoe klein het was, maar oke, de prijs was er ook wel naar. Toch verwacht je, hoeveel je ook betaald dat het SCHOON is. Dit was het niet! De lucht in de douche was niet te harden, schimmel, verstopte putjes. de hoeken van de kamer zaten ook vol schimmel, en de kamer zat vol kleine torretjes, die zo over je schone beddengoed heen liepen. Het was verder eg lawaaierig, het bleek echt een jongerenhotel te zijn,, stond nergens... toen het ontbijt, we kamen beneden en hadden een lekker ontbijt verwacht met harde bolletjes etc.. wat stond er? gewoon brood.. oke, nou ja, kon er mee door.. tot we een hap namen, zo droog. Mijn vriend en ik hebben ons ontbijt zo in de container gekwakt en zijn maar gaan ontbijten in de stad. Verder was de sfeer er alsof we bij het leger des heils zaten. als je savonds terug kwam op je kamer hoopte je dat je bedje was opgemaakt, dat er schone handdoeken lagen. En ja, de handdoeken lagen er.. Zo op het onopgemaakte bed GEGOOID. Om even een samenvatting te maken van wat ik net allemaal geschreven heb : het was een verschrikkelijk slecht, ranzig, vies hotel. En hier komen we NOOIT meer!!

- slechte kamer 111; klapperende klapdeuren hele nacht door- daardoor geen goede nachtrust gehad; om 09.15uur waren alle eieren op en werden geen nieuwe eieren aangevuld diegene die iets later was had pech gehad;

+ Goede bedden, heerlijke douche, niet erg gehorig.Goed ontbijt.

- Prijs lag te hoog, voor deze piep kleine kamer, de ontbijtzaal had meer weg van een jeugdherberg, het was aanschuiven, voor een lagere prijs is dat ok!
