Hotel Iris is situated in a picturesque area with a view of a typical Amsterdam street. The quiet location and lovely inner courtyard make this hotel a perfect place to relax after a busy day in town. Many renowned attractions can easily be reached on foot, and the tram or metro can take you to all edges of this vibrant city.

The rooms are basic but clean and the different sizes will suit single travellers as well as groups and families. Hotel Iris is an annex of Hotel Max which is located nearby. Therefore guests need to check in at the reception desk of Hotel Max.

Hotel Iris does not have a restaurant, but numerous nice restaurants can be found in the near surroundings.

Wifi internet is available for €6 per 1 hour card or €25 for a 5-hour card.

- Check in and check out and breakfast take place at Hotel Max, Hemonystraat 7. The reception is open until 23:00 h., but if you wish to check in after 17:00 h., you need to contact the reception in advance.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Luggage can be stored at the hotel.
- The hotel prefers cash payments.
- Guests will be requested to pay a deposit of €20 for the keycard.

Surroundings

Many interesting attractions can be found in the surroundings of Hotel Iris Amsterdam, such as the 'Van Gogh Museum' and the 'Rijksmuseum', the 'Waterlooplein' and the 'Albert Cuyp' market. You can also just roam around the maze of small alleys in the vicinity, to look for hidden treasures of this exceptional city.

Anonymous Friendly staff/good location, limited comfort/budget hotel.: 29 June 2011; 5.6; + Kind and helpful staff, clean bathroom facilities, breakfast was OK, location pretty good; - The bed covers were very old, worn, had holes and stains and were quite dirty. Very small room.

Anonymous Ok for budget city trip, expect nothing and bring earplugs: 13 June 2011; 5.8; + cheap, good location, room was small but ok; - check in at different address, room was not cleaned after previous guest so there were wet towels on the floor and hairs in the beds and we had to wait for someone to come change the sheets, staff gave us the wrong room key so we had to go back to the other address again to collect the key, very small bathroom with not facilities to hang clothes etc so it was difficult to keep towel etc dry, mold in shower, there was no remote control for the tv which was hanging out of reach, noisy old building

John Hanes Good value for a basic but clean room just outside the center.: 15 November 2010; 6.6; + It was much better than the reviews had lead on. It was clean, clean sheets, bathrooms, towels, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. No bedbugs or problems with the bathroom as some reviews had said. I was quite pleased with my stay.; - The only problem I had was finding it in the first place, Amsterdam can be a tough city to navigate, and the heater didn't seem to be working the first night, but worked the next night.

Ulli Decent budget hotel: 2 August 2010; 8.4; + Decent price; clean room and very clean toilet; - The shower didn't have any working ventilation and no available tools to remove the water from the floor, so it's just a question of time until there will be problems with mould.

Luis Look earlier for another one. Only as last resort.: 23 July 2009; 3.6; + Very close to tramway, yet quiet. Metro also close by: Five minutes. R e a s o n a b l y clean. Just. TV with good channel choice.; - Bad furniture and badly worn carpeting. Ugly breakfast room and simple breakfast. Noise can be heard through (board) walls. Tiny TV set: OK for news and weather. No telephone in room.

Anonymous Voldoet aan onze verwachting prijs/ kwaliteitsverhouding.: 7 July 2011; 7.4; + Vriendelijker personeel dan gedacht & verwacht, als je sommige recensies leest lijkt het de hel wel, dat viel ons reuze mee. Je betaalt niet te veel dus kunt ook geen topklasse verwachten. Fijne ligging om naar stad te wandelen. Goeie douche !; - Niet al te fris en schoon, dat voldoet maar net. Geen shampoo op badkamer.Versleten meubels, geen sleutels voor garderobe kast , daardoor niet te openen, kapotte bedlamp, geen peertje er in! 70-er jaren bruine tegels, terugkeer naar uw jeugd..... Er mag wel 'ns een nieuw tapijtje in , en extra handdoek op badkamer, betere matrassen had ik ook nog wel gewild.

Astrid Kleines Hostel für 2 Tage Übernachtung ok: 17 April 2011; 6.2; + Kleines billiges Zimmer und in ein paar Minuten alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Höflicher und netter Empfang; - Es klebte Kaugummi an den Wänden, am 2. Tag war im Bad das Licht kaputt. Toilettenpapier wurde erst nach Tagen aufgefüllt. Das Bad sah sehr unhygienisch aus und war dreckig. Die Bettwäsche war dreckig und fleckig......

Anonymous Typisches einfaches Stadthotel eher mit Hostelcharakter: 7 March 2011; 3.8; + Hotel Iris als Dependence des Hotel Max in unmittelbarer Nähe bietet im Preis ein einfaches Frühstück in einem netten Frühstücksraum (Toast, Käse/Wurst, O-saft von Lidl). Innenstadt sowie Museumszone sind gut in 15-20 min fußläufig zu erreichen.; - Charakter eher wie ein Travelerhostel. Mobiliar ist sehr einfach, teilweise kaputt, Türen hängen in den Angeln. Bäder über den Gang -so sie zum Zimmer gehören- teilweise noch aus den 70ern. Glühbirnen defekt, ein Zimmer ohne jeden Haken um etwas aufzuhängen. Alles recht abgewirtschaftet aber noch einigermaßen sauber.

Ok für ein Wochenende in Amsterdam, aber nicht viel mehr: 22 November 2010; 5.4; + nicht zu teuer man ist schnell mit der Bahn in der Stadt Nettes Personal am Empfang (auch 2 Uhr nachts); - Unsauber - Fleckiger Teppich, Zimmerdecke hat Wasserflecken, Bettwäsche zwar gewaschen aber trotzdem dreckig, Duschvorhang schimmelt hellhörig, wenn jemand die Treppen runter geht, oder spült, hört man das wohl im ganzen Haus

Gerrit Goede lokatie, maar uitgewoond hol, niet boeken.: 23 August 2010; 3.4; + Lokatie; - Afstands, uitgewoond en smerig. Plafond bruin van de lekkage, ranzige vloerbedekking met vele vlekken, douchegordijn niet aanwezig. En dan wel schaamteloos 126 euro voor 1 nacht vragen.

Jenny Hostelcharme in citynaher Lage: 15 June 2010; 5.2; + Wir hatten einen kleinen Balkon. Das Gepäck konnte nach dem Auschecken noch gelagert werden. Nur 20min Fußmarsch bis zum Zentrum. Lidl direkt gegenüber.; - Das Frühstück war ziemlich eintönig (1Wurst, 1Käse, 1 Marmelade...) - aber dies soll in Amsterdam allgemein so sein. Klospülung ging nur aller 5min.

Ralf Mahnke Hotel mit Jugendherbergsstil: 25 May 2009; 5.2; + Superlage - die Innenstadt (Altstadt)kann man sehr gut zu Fuss erreichen.; - -Kein Parkplatz vorhanden. Sehr steile Treppen in beiden Häusern (Hotel Max) für Menschen mit "schwachen"Beinen ist der Treppenaufstieg fast nicht zu schaffen.
