A quiet base in Oud West to start each day's exploring!

• + Clean, bright, like- new room, great firm bed for wonderful sleep. Big desk, big armoire! Easy reach bed lights. Superb bathroom. Breakfast buffet includes croissants, boiled eggs, omelette, yoghurt, meats and cheeses, granola, fruit salad with pomegranate pips, cucumber spears, sliced tomatoes, several types of bread with butter, juices, a selection of teas, coffee. Satisfying
• – No hooks on walls or doors to hang wet coats after rain! No razor, shave cream, cotton swabs, or hair conditioner. Tea and coffee available from desk, but no setup in room to make one's own. Can hear conversations in adjoining rooms with no problem.

Hospitality galore at moderately priced small CLEAN hotel!

• + We asked for a quiet room and we got the perfect room with a balcony overlooking a courtyard. No street noise! The hotel staff bent over backwards to get us information about local attractions and information both before our arrival via email and after our arrival. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous; something for everyone. Convenient location served by three trams just minutes from Dam Square. I was so happy with my choice!

• * my tip Book ahead and ask for a quiet room. The "lift" was essential as climbing the narrow stairs would have been challenging. Buy a 72 hour pass for the tram at Central Station; it's a bargain and a quick way to get around town.

• + good location: about 10-15 minutes of walk to the Leidseplein. 15 minutes to central station or museum plein via tram. the tram stop is near the hotel. good service, good possibility to buy all tours and tickets directly in hotel. individual approach to the customer. good balance between prices and quality.
• * my tip that was good choice for 4 days staying.

Good value for money at a small hotel for a single person.

Highly recommended

• + Clean, comfortable and away from the overcrowded and noisy touristy. It has xcellent access to the trams (runs right in front of the hotel) with the city centre only 10 min away. It is also located close to some nice local restaurants, quiet pubs, cafes and withing walking distance to may places. Highly recommended
• * my tip The hotel has a nice restaurant, hires bikes and you can purchase your tram tickets and canal cruise tickets all from reception. This hotel is very well serviced and convenient for tourists and visitors

• + good restaurant on first floor. In ten days of travel, only place that offered a complimentary drink upon arrival. near museums on short tram ride. tram stop outside of hotel. very accommodating staff. appears to be newly remodeled interiors.

A quiet room in a big city, very close at the center town

• + It's the second time we go at Hotel Larende and we like tranquillity of the place. Price/quality ratio and all the services are good. At 30m there is a tram stop that brings you directly in center town (7min)

"Dubious" check in procedures

• + Clean, well presented, rooms to a good standard, breakfast acceptable.
• – Passport ID page scanned on check in. I have since sought advice from the UK passport agency who described this as "unusual", "worrying" and "dubious". I will be acting in accordance with their recommendations

Hotel Larende Amsterdam

• + The Hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. There are tram lines near the hotel and the transport is easy around the city.
• – The rooms are quite small. The reception is located in the same place, where there is a restaurant. There is no place for staying out of the bedrooms. The breakfast is very economic.

• + We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to look around Amsterdam and likes walking. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the staff very kind and helpful. Would definately use again.
• – The only down point is the parking (if you have driven) which can be very expensive.
