Hotel Plantage lies within walking distance from Artis Zoo, 'Tropenmuseum', 'Scheepvaartmuseum', 'Hermitage' and the 'Verzetsmuseum' (about the Dutch resistance in World War II). The public transportation links are fast and frequent, which makes the Museumplein, Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein easy to reach. In the centre there are many historic buildings and nice shops.

Clean, basic hotel in good location but beware the steep stairs!

Room was large, small refrigerator was useful, free internet-computer in reception was very welcome. Good location (approx. 15-20 mins walk from city centre in an easy straight line). Welcome was very friendly and staff were helpful. Many channels on TV.

Very steep stairs - difficult for old people or small children and for carrying suitcases up, wifi was useless, decor is shabby (but clean), no breakfast availability nearby, noise from trams means windows must be kept closed at night.

Easy for people who want to stay near the Portuguese Synogue. still regular keys, no problems for shabbat with light,doors etc. Just bring a shabbat belt, it is outside of the eruv.

The location of the hotel is excellent for the main attractions in Amsterdam and is almost opposite the zoo.

We stayed in the small attic room on the top floor, room 34. The room looks like it has recently been renovated, which at first sight is good however the plumbing in the tiny bathroom has not been done properly. The room constantly smells of toilet waste as it sits in the pipes. It was unbearable.
