In the centre of Amsterdam, near the area 'De Pijp', one will find the modern Hotel V Frederiksplein. Hotel V Frederiksplein is established in four monumental 19th century buildings. The hotel is beautifully located in the centre of Amsterdam, on the edge of the 'Frederiksplein' square and the trendy area 'De Pijp'. As soon as guests enter the spacious hotel lobby they will be surprised by the design. The glass meeting room and the rubber reception desk will also catch the eye. In the lobby one can find a wooden bar/kitchen, where breakfast is served every morning.

After an active day guests can take a seat in the atmospheric lounge on the couch at the fireplace. While listening to the funky soul music one can order a drink or check some e-mails. Quiet and nice, no noise from traffic. Or from other guests. Tram stops just outside, very nice The beds were very comfortable. Excellent breakfast buffet! Every one of the staff was very kind and helpful. Nice with the free internet.

The room (103)was much too small. No chairs and no desk - and no place to store the suitcases.

not impressed from london

The size of the rooms are only suitable for dwalf's, ie people who are vertically challenged. We have never been to a hotel where it was impossible to hang clothes.jackets, and move about the room without falling over each other. I have 2x cuts to my head banging on the sharp metal shelf in the bathroom. We will not be returning!!!

Almost Great

Great breakfast, comfy room, very convenient but quiet area. Free computers in lobby were a fun bonus and hotel design was unique and stylish.

Do whatever you can to avoid the room under the reception desk. I emailed in advance to request an above ground room as I was a solo female traveler and didn't want a ground level window. I not only ended up with a basement room, but right at the bottom of the stairs from the lobby (so all lobby music and traffic noise funneled down to my door) and under the reception desk (so I could hear the staff zooming around on their desk chairs-all night). Pretty disappointed as I had emailed in advance and the hotel confirmed they had received my request. Also, I would have given a higher rating for service as the staff was wonderful except for one guy who was rude every time we had contact over four days. Everyone else was superb.

Friendly, convenient and good value.

Pleasant staff. Perfect location, right amount of distance away from the busy city center was in a nice neighbourhood of Amsterdam and still close walking distance to everything, if walking is not an option, tram is right outside the door of the hotel. Lovely breakfast. Good value for money. Was very pleased with the hotel.

Trendy hotel, just outside of action, room a bit small

Good location just outside of the action but a nice walk from the centre. Very fashionable hotel, staff very friendly, welcoming reception, free internet tea and coffee all day.

Room very small but this didn't really affect our stay as we were never in it, so much to do in amsterdam, and a bit cold on arrival but a few minutes with the radiator on sorted it out. Although i requsted a double room it was two twin beds pushed together, as i'd booked it for a romantic weekend i was a little disappointed.

Excellent hotel, well positioned.

Hotel is stylish and modern. The check in staff were very welcoming and knowledgable. The rooms were clean and well equipped. On check in you get a voucher for a free drink at the bar and the breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel is just 10 minutes walk from the Leidseplein and is right next to a tram #4 stop, which goes directly to the RAI within 10 minutes.

Very steep stairs to the higher floors, which were no problem for our young party, but for the elderly or unsteady on foot it could be an issue.

Amazing beds!

Very clean and the staff were very friendly. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in! Great breakfast too!

The room was tiny and there was nowhere to put anything - no cupboards in either the bedroom or bathroom.

Lovely Location - Shame about the Room!

Great Location. Do not be put off by view. Just ask any of the staff to point you in the way of the park to go to the main street, loads of bars, cafes, etc which will lead you to a 20-25 min walk down to Dam Square.

Special means dungeon in V! Was disappointed at size of room. OK for one night but no where to put anything! If you get room 010 ask to be moved as this is below the bar so you can hear them walking back and forward early in the morning setting up breakfast and the room is next to the store room/cleaners room/etc and very noisy!

Excellent value, perfect location

Tram stops outside the hotel and takes you right into town. The hotel is near enough to walk anywhere in the city but tram was handy when in a lzy mood, or high shoes!!! The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. The hotel was really modern in style although rooms were a bit on the small side. Really enjoyed staying here and is great value for money.

Best hotel we've stayed in, ever!

We loved this hotel. The staff couldn't have been nicer, even printing out our boarding passes etc for the return journey. It was very clean, quiet and luxurious with the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in, flat screen TV with BBC channels. Ten mins walk down a lovely canal took us to the heart of things. Really hearty breakfast too. Will be back as soon as we can afford it!

Although our room was small (we had a budget room), it was more than adequate for a long weekend and large rooms are hard to find in Amsterdam for this price. The lift is so tiny it made us laugh and was tiled in fake (I hope!) cow hide. The stairs however, unusually for Amsterdam, are not particularly steep and nice and wide.

Welcoming, interesting hotel with very good breakfasts

Very friendly staff; nice breakfast area and very good breakfast with a wide range of food and great coffee. Interesting design elements.

The room I stayed in my first night was not adequately heated and the bathroom was entirely unheated which made taking a shower unpleasant due to the cold. I would not have stayed another night in that room. The room I switched to was fine.

Would go back!

The breakfast was really great and got you started for your day exploring.The main lobby area is a great place to sit by the fire and has lots of reading material. Free internet use in the lobby is useful.

The room was reallly small. If we had been staying any longer than a weekend with more luggage it would have been uncomfortable. Our room was not made up when we went up to it on arrival.

An all-round mid-size hotel for business and younger travellers

The breadfast! We loved it! All day FREE coffee and tea from the bar. Complimentry WiFi! 2 Mac computers aviliable at the lobby. The fire place and sofa next to the entrance promise you a relaxing day. Their staffs are young, energetic and helpful. Very comfy bed.

No closet in room and not enough wall hangers for clothes. No table in room, only 3 small tools provided. Only one small rack in the bathroom, insufficient for our toilet amenities.(especially ladies) Since our room is next to the basement store room, some may found it is a bit noisy.

Good quality for the cost

Not too far from the centre of amsterdam, the tram will take you right there in about 10mins. Nice lounge area, rooms are small but contain everything you need for a short stay. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Need to make sure that companies that advertise the hotel state it is non smoking (yes there are non-smoking hotels in amsterdam!). Not enough storage space for a longer stay.

Great place to stay!

bar and restaurant staff were lovely. very helpful and always smiling. excellent location, we only ever had to use public transport to go to and from central station when we arrived and left.

blonde woman at front desk over reacted slightly when my boyfriend put our case on the reception desk when handing it over for storage. i believe the words "ah sh*t" were directed towards us because she thought we'd scratched it!

HIP, CHIC PERFECT!!!!!

It was my first time in the city and the location of the hotel couldnt have been better...minutes from the Liedsplein & seconds....seriously seconds from the tram stop where three trams stop to take you all over the city.....the staff was sooo friendly & knowledgable....they recommened a great place for dinner.....it was sooo great i cant wait to go back...the rooms the decor of the hotel the rooms the lobby were soooo hip & chic...the breakfast was typical European...which i love...i just loved it soooooooo much stay here if you can :)

Uncomplicated and friendly atmosphere.

Mentioned twice at the helpdesk about a an out-of-order light bulb and some old socks and empty beer bottles on the balcony - to no avail. To be honest, there's very little space for one's belongings in the room and the room and corridors are too dark for ageing eyes. The story about the socks was to be read somewhere in the internet reviews long ago!

Beautifully designed hotel! very nice lobby/lounge and breakfastroom.

no elevator in the 2.nd building, small room - not very functional. only one small mirror in the bathroom and it hang to far up ( I am 165 cm long, and could barely see my nose in it!) The design was very nice, but not very functional..

Modern Hotel met nette kamers. Het personeel was ook vriendelijk.

Zijn kleine kamers, maar als je alleen voor een overnachting gebruik maakt van je kamer, maakt dat niet veel uit. Verder van Paradiso vandaan dan we dachten. ( +- 15 minuten lopen)

Een aanrader voor jonge paren en reizigers alleen

Heel goed verzorgde morgenontbijt met vriendelijke service .

De standaard kamer welke wij hadden geboekt is veel te klein voor twee personen,die kamer zou enkel voor één persoon dienen te worden gebruikt.Of zou teminste de oppervlakte moeten vermeld worden. -De matras beschermer was alles behalve net, met veel vlekken Het ontbreken van schrijftafel en kleerhangers.

Leuk hotel maar iets te duur.

Heerlijk bed. Lekkere douche. Interieur heeft een leuke en trendy uitstraling.

Ontbijt tafeltjes zijn te klein. Bediening in ontbijtzaal was chagerijnig en traag met het ontruimen van de tafels,waardoor mensen moesten wachten voor er een tafel beschikbaar was.

Optimales Hotel bei einer Städtereise

angenehme Einrichtung man kann sich sofort wohlfühlen.Gutes Frühstück.Personal ist sehr freundlich und geht auch ohne Probleme auf die Wünsche ein.

Zimmer dürften etwas größer sein. Mindestens ein Schrank sollte vorhanden sein.(Standardzimmer)
