- Amsterdam is a blast.
- This was a really cool place to stay. We stayed on the very top floor of the whole building and could see way down the canal from out the window. The red light district was literally right around the corner and the location made it easy to access all of Amsterdam.
- There was hardly any water pressure at all in the shower, and it was cool to stay on the very top floor, but there were a LOT of steps.

- If you're on a budget, Hotel Vijaya is the very best for the value.
- Although my single room was small, I was very comfortable. The location was perfect, the breakfast was excellent, my room was always kept very clean, the staff was very friendly and the overall service from all the staff members was great. I stayed for 17 nights and they made me feel as if I were in my own home . They were consistently very helpful in giving me the best directions with mapped out instructions for all the places I needed to go to.

- A cheap and nice hotel
- Very nice staff, a cheap and allright hotel with a great location.
- The rooms could have been cleaner, and the shower was unstable(hot-cold-hot-cold). Some of the towels had holes, but who cares.

- great hotel, great location
- Our room was quite large and had a wonderful view of the canal and busy street below. The room was very clean and well stocked. Staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us a map upon our arrival and detailing points of interest around the city. And the location was perfect, right in the center of everything! Very good value for money spent!
- Nothing much to complain about, the breakfast was pretty simple, but it was free so.......

- Nice, but not at that price.
- Right near central station, good for being able to get everywhere easily. Nice views over the canal. Kind, helpful staff. Reasonably clean interior. They gave me a double bed instead of the single. Breakfast was served til 10am. Hotel happy to hold luggage for you when you check out if you have a late flight.
- Tiny room with no wardrobe or drawers and bathroom is on other side of corridor. No in-room tea/coffee facilities.
A lot of money for a very basic room with a very basic breakfast.
Even though it is right in the RLD and centrally situated I would not have paid more than £25 a night...
It was £45 a night with this website's discount, inc Breakfast and City Tax. (In Blackpool in August I paid £25pn inc cooked breakfast with en-suite bathroom)
Not as swish as the pictures, but it wasn't really bad, just depends on what you want... If you are out all the time it's fine.

- A positive experience
- Friendly staff, clean room and good location. Stayed ten nights and will probably stay there on the next trip.
- Shower, would be a good idea to notify the guests about the mixing of valves for hot / cold water.
Towel change every day, nice, but not environmental friendly. The hotel could save environment and money by urging visitors to use towels for several days - fx, dump on floor if one want it changed. Not unusual in more expensive hotels.

- Close to everything in this great city
- The hotel is located in the best spot of the city. Everything is 5 minutes walk away. Some people are told to visit this part of the city and i just had the chance to live there. The bathroom is spacious and comfortable and the breakfast is sufficient. Highly recommended, not for a couple though. My regards to the long blonde-hair, very polite guy.
- The room is very very small and there is no elevator which is a problem if your room is above first floor.

- More negative points than positive
- Excellent central location. Friendly staff. Free wireless. Large fan in room.
- Single room quite small (although this is the norm in Amsterdam). The window in my room could have done with a clean (dead flies on window sill etc.) The shower head slid down to the bottom of the bar and wouldn't stay higher. Tv remote did not work. Noisy location. Room key had to be handed into reception every time when leaving.

During the night isn't so quiet and try to avoid the room over de Bar,(neighbour Buildind). But whow would be possible to be in a central location in Amsterdam and have a quiet night? :-) If you're looking for a romantic time in Amsterdam, staying many hours im Hotel, instead walking and visiting Amsterdam, you should book another kind of Hotel. If you need only a room to sleep...after so many tours, Museu, bars, etc, I would say; Hotel Vijaya is a good option also for uncomplicated Persons (even on our age: Couple on the midle of 40's)
