Ibis Amsterdam Centre is next to the Central Station. By public transport it only takes 15 minutes to reach Schiphol Amsterdam Airport and the Arena and 20 minutes to reach the RAI Conference Centre. Within walking distance are the PTA cruise terminal, Beurs van Berlage, Dam square and the canals. In the hotel you can take breakfast daily between 04:00 and 12:00 h.

Ibis Amsterdam Central is NOT good value for price.

Good location for city centre and transport links.

For the price we paid for our room the size and standard was very poor. 1, No tea, coffee in the room, no hairdrier, the bathroom was very small, bed very uncomfortable , total room size was more like a single. I would not stay there again based on price & value. The Victoria across the road where we have stayed at twice, is more or less the same price and a far better hotel with better facilities.

In general this hotel was basic and expensive but was very central

The hotel is very central and within walking distance of the majority of tourist transport and sights. It was also very clean and respectful to our room privacy.

The hotel rooms are very basic and small.For a couple spending 5 days away together a bit more luxury would have been nice. I found the service and price of the rooms quite expensive for what you were getting, apart from the central location.

- located at central station: busses, trams, trains and tube available

- noise from central station (aqueaking of braking trains, tannoy announcements...)-> one building is standing on pillars above train rails - beds are uncomfortable and squeaky - value for money: small rooms for much money - unpleasant atmosphere in breakfast room: too many people, too noisy and stressfull

Convenient way to visit Amsterdam

I would stay in the hotel again,the staff were friendly and it was well situated near the station and trams.The staff tried to answer all queries and went on line to find answers.

It would be nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the rooms.Also inclusive or cheaper breakfasts

Staff were very helpful. The hotel was very clean. The rooms were very good for a city hotel and the location (just a couple of minutes walk from central station) was very handy.

There is a left luggage room that can be used, but it is not supervised.

overall a good clean value hotel

very clean and basic 9th floor excellent views across the harbour, good value for money if you like simple and basic. towels were fluffy and white. chamber maids were lovely and friendly.

no smoking area at all so you need to stand out the front of hotel, the room would have a better feel with carpet, reception staff were a bit hostile. no kettle so you had to buy (unless you take a travel kettle)no bath just a roomy shower, train noise although it never woke us.

Superconvenient, but skip the breakfast

Location, location, location. If you are in the city for a short time, not a minute is wasted, as you can be zipped from the airport to this hotel by the awesome train in as little as 15 minutes.

If you use the automated check-out, it assumes that you indulged in the vastly overpriced breakfast at 15 euros. Who needs a 15 euro breakfast?

Nice hotel. Just check rates ahead of time.

Proximity to train station. Very clean room. Very quiet, even though close to the train station.

I stayed for 2 nights. The first night I received the promised rate of 109 Euro's. The second night the rate was 144 Euro's and no one at the front desk could explain this difference. I had a train to catch so could not stop to argue.

Clean, good hygiene standards, comfortable rooms. Excellent location.

Very poor information provided regards to cost. Email printout had 960 Euro as the TOTAL. This was actual the sub total before city tax. Also a 50 euro deposit was required per room. This was un-expected and made me very uncomfortable as I had to hold up the check in process trying to raise an exra 300 euro from the travelling party. These costs should be included as you know of them.

The hotel was a bit pricey for a small room but the services was excellent and clean,too.The location was great, pretty close to the city center and just beside the train station.The staff at the reception were polite and really helpful and were willing to extend their help with all your needs.They even got a copy of the receipt from the hotel where i stayed in berlin.Thanks alot guys, i'm sure i'll be back.

Clean and convenient

We were able to get into the room before the advertized time. The room was clean and quiet.

The bed squeaked and moved on the hardwood floor. Difficult to read in bed because each time you move, so does the bed and comes away from the wall. An extra blanketand pillows would have been nice, also a tea kettle in the room for making tea.

Extremely slow at check in. I booked 1 Triple and 1 Double rooms but was informed on checking in we would have to have 3 Double rooms because there were no triple rooms available. We were part of a party of 18 people, but although my booking was made 24 hours before the others (by a different person)triple rooms were available for them! When I brought this to the attention of the receptionist and asked why my booking was not being honoured, when I knew for a fact we had booked prior to the others, she could not explain but informed me there would be no change to the cost. The fact we had to pay a deposit of 50 euros per room (refundable) to make sure we did not smoke in our rooms I find insulting as we had requested no smoking rooms in the first place! One room had a cigarette burn along the surface of the bedside shelf, this was immediately pointed out and a written acceptance received whithout which I could just see us losing 50 euros after being blamed for it!

All was good. Service very efficient and friendly.

Room door kept getting stuck but I didn't really bother telling anyone. Whatever gets used for cleaning is quite strong as well, but I was comming down with a cold so I can't hold it against them.

An Enjoyable stay at the Ibis Hotel!!

Very helpful and kind staff. Excellent service to leave luggage in for day after we checked out. Our flight home was not until later that day. This allowed us to walk around amsterdam without the hassle of bags. Also good breakfast and affordable price.. i will stay here again if i return to amsterdam.

I will stay there again next time...

Right by the train station is great for me, a train traveler. Rooms in the new section are nicer than rroms in the old section. The outer side has great view of all the action along the shipping lane and train station.

The inner rooms only have view to next building. No problem for me since I requested a room with shipping lane / train station view.
