+ Great location for Central Station. Trams, buses, taxi's, canal tours, shops & restaurants all on your doorstep

- some of the rooms were built over the train tracks so if you like your window open at night prepare yourself for the noisiest place EVER. Trains screeching past your room all day & night, not to mention the never ending public announcements!! Basic hotel room, nothing fancy.

+ the location is great if you're not familiar with amsterdam

- the staff were restricted on knowledge of anything but the hotel. no one could tell me where an ATM was. being right next to central station i thought getting info on trains, business locations, and local events would be simple. i was wrong. they only cared about the room you're in, nothing else. for some that might be enough

- For people spending more than 1 night, a larger hanging area for clothes would've been helpful

+ Location, Very nice bathroom, Breakfast,although not included in price it was very good. Although it's on top of the station if the windows are closed you barely hear the trains at night.

- Very small room for 3 beds and on check-out day cleaners were coming in the room all the time from 9:00 onwards non-stop. Check-out is at 12:00 chill...it's Amsterdam and it's Sunday...

+ location and cleanliness cannot be beat. Staff very accomodating

- We originally were put in a room facing the station. The noise of the construction continued LOUDLY all night. Next day asked what could be done and we immediately were given a much nicer and better located room so we got two good nights sleep out of three.

+ Location wise, this is a very good hotel. I chose it because it was just next to the central train station. Very convenient.

- The minus point is the location! I had difficulty sleeping because my room (new tower, 5th floor) is exactly on top of the train station. Even at 2 am I could still hear the rumbling of the trains. At 4 am the activities began to pick up and so did the noise.

- Have to remind the reception staff 3 times before she finally open luggage storage door. I understand the staff could be busy but opening the door is just a push of button! Does not require 3 reminders!

+ staff were polite, tried to be helpful, great location right by the station

- it was far too hot in the rooms (in early april) and we had to move at midnight from our 9th floor room (over top of the rail station so we couldn´t open the window due to excessive noise) to the 5th floor (only slightly cooler but it was possible to open the window as it faced the very loud street which wasn´t as loud as the trains). also the breakfast room was not very pleasant and jam packed with tours of people. extremely tiny room, it was nice they provided a baby cot but once it was in the room it needed to be nudged out of the way to open the bathroom door and of course the desk and window became unusable we loved amsterdam, we´ll just stay somewhere else next time (maybe Chic and Basic)

- Housework could be much better, especially when you find dust fluffs under the bed ! No need to speak of preserving the planet, saving water and energy (sign in the bathroom) when towels are changed everyday even when you don't ask for it ! Moreover, it's a shame that in a French hotel chain (Ibis, as far as I know !) nobody speaks French at the reception desk !

+ Location! -- right at the central station. Walking to everything in the city center and ideal for early flights out of Schipol. Clean, comfortable, convenient, and inexpensive for Amsterdam. (This is a proper hotel, not a hostel)

- Bathroom was a bit small. Modern building, not much in the way of charm

+ Hotel is located just next to Amsterdam Central stasion. Hotel staff were friendly and kind.

- Hotel was very small without bath tub. Restrant was quite ordinary and food was not so good.

+ Free luggage storage after check out, for the rest of that day - good if you have a late flight to catch. Good choice at breakfast but only good value if you have an inclusive deal. Expensive if purchased separately.

- Long queues at reception seemed quite common. Need more staff at peak times. Room OK and clean but small and litlle wardrobe space.

- The rooms are very basic, not worth the price u pay for them. Make sure u book the newer wing of the hotel, the rooms are bigger! Otherwise, you'll be stuck in one of the super tiny rooms, very uncomfortable and claustrophobic!

+ Good location for city centre and transport links.

- For the price we paid for our room the size and standard was very poor. 1, No tea, coffee in the room, no hairdrier, the bathroom was very small, bed very uncomfortable , total room size was more like a single. I would not stay there again based on price & value. The Victoria across the road where we have stayed at twice, is more or less the same price and a far better hotel with better facilities.

+ The hotel is very central and within walking distance of the majority of tourist transport and sights. It was also very clean and respectful to our room privacy.

- The hotel rooms are very basic and small.For a couple spending 5 days away together a bit more luxury would have been nice. I found the service and price of the rooms quite expensive for what you were getting, apart from the central location.

- - noise from central station (aqueaking of braking trains, tannoy announcements...)-> one building is standing on pillars above train rails - beds are uncomfortable and squeaky - value for money: small rooms for much money - unpleasant atmosphere in breakfast room: too many people, too noisy and stressfull

- The rooms are very small and the bathroom aswell, but the price is very high. Plus I made the reservation 2 weeks earlier and when I arrived at the hotle I paid more than I supposed to!
