Overpriced terrible service, living on its past reputation
  • + My booking was changed by you to the Grand Kraznapolski hotel The sun was shining but I don't think you had any responsibility for that.
  • This was the worst stay I have ever had in this hotel, the hotel had a convention in progress which seemed to rule out the care of regular full paying guests, I arrived on the 22nd in the late afternoon, that evening I went to visit the bar which was closed, a makeshift bar was open in the lobby, not my idea of a luxury hotel, the following morning the breakfast service was also in the lobby, I used the word service which was probably a mistake as there was no service, the tables were either not
  • * my tip Don't stay here

great location
  • + Great location. A little older but very nice. Great service. Arrived early about 11:00am and it was no problem. Window in room opens which is great if you want some fresh air. Great breakfast. Third time staying here.
  • * my tip If your sensitive to noise ask for room on back side but you are downtown so there's noise everywhere.

Weekend getawat in Amsterdam
  • + Was upgraded to one of the rooms on the events/meetings floor which included a kitchen with a stove. Midway between Dam Square and the museums, a short walk to Rembrandtplein and right at the Floating Flower Market. There are a lot of nearby food options including one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
  • The bed in this room was very low to the floor. while it was comfortable, it was difficult to get up with a bad knee.

  • + Great location
  • The hotel had had problems charging my card so on arrival I was told that they were going to cancel my room. This was done without them trying to contact me. Because of this I believe we were given the last room in the hotel which was dark and dingy (under a bridge) and was very much like a ships cabin. The hotel itself felt incredibly busy which was uncomfortable. I wouldn't stay there again as it was expensive and did not live up the standards of other NH hotels we have stayed in.

Great location, clean & noisy
  • + Excellent location, clean
  • Noise -- street noise until the wee hours of the morning. Ask for a room in the back. Do not request a taxi from the desk for going to the airport (45 euro). Better to call yourself and make a reservation (25 euro).

Does NH-Carlton Hotel just sell location?
  • + Location!
  • This hotel need to repair the lift, change the carpet floor, change the spring bed (because the mattress had deflated) and also the heater doesn't work. I wonder why can the room cleaner rang the bell when the "don't disturb" sign was on. Room cleaner also didn't washed the drinking glasses and didn't mop the bathroom floor. You must pay 5 euro when order room service menu. I didn't like it!

Excellent location with friendly staff.
  • + Friendly staff
  • Initial superior room extremely noisy due to street location. Problem was solved after consultation and relocation to a quiet rom at the rear of the hotel.
