Jupiter Hotel Amsterdam offers a comfortable place to stay for guests that wish to spend time in the centre of Amsterdam. Within walking distance you will find the most famous attractions such as the beautiful Vondelpark, the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, the flower market and the numerous shopping streets. The Leidseplein is a popular spot for nightclubs and many typical Dutch bars and restaurants. A sightseeing trip by boat through the canals of Amsterdam is an authentic experience that lets guests see the city from a different perspective. The historical houses are not be missed for people interested in architecture. The hotel staff will be more than happy to make a reservation for a cinema or a theatre in the lively city centre of Amsterdam or help to rent you a bike or book a taxi.

The hotel has 20 rooms varying from single- to quad rooms. Some rooms have a private shower and toilet and other rooms have shared facilities. All of the rooms are equipped with a television, telephone, hair dryer and safe. The elevator is available for the third and fourth floor.

Food and Drinks

The breakfast is served between 07:30 and 09:30 h. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but in the direct vicinity there are several options to choose from for dinner, especially around the Leidseplein. The friendly hotel staff will be very happy to find you a restaurant according to your wishes. Around the Leidseplein there are many bars and traditional cafés where guests can enjoy a drink

In the hotel guests can make free use of wireless internet. In the breakfast room a public computer is available (after breakfast) for guests without a laptop.

Surroundings

Just a short stroll from Jupiter Hotel Amsterdam will take you to the Museumplein. Around this square you can visit the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum. The beautiful Vondelpark is also nearby. Guests that love shopping will certainly enjoy themselves in the nearby P.C. Hooftstraat and the Leidsestraat. For a night out the Leidseplein offers many nice restaurants and bars.

Ian Loney Nice little hotel in a pretty good location: 24 May 2011; 6.6; + The hotel was very modern and well appointed. We even got a bathroom down the hall room to save some money and had no issues. It was also in a good location for actually getting sleep as it was very quiet, and still close enough to central Amsterdam to walk/tram in with ease. Easy walking distance to all the Leidseplein clubs/bars.; - Not the friendliest staff. They seemed to not really want us there. If I had to guess, I'd say it was likely because we were 2 American guys and they assumed we would cause trouble. They were also extremely adamant about no pot/cigarette smoking in the hotel. It wasn't the rule that bothered me. I get that they don't want the smell or whatever. It was just the signs and the reminders everywhere. Hall, room, elevator, and they made you read a thing on it as well at check-in. A bit irritating.

Stephen from Glasgow Not at any price!: 10 November 2009; 4.2; + At the knock-down price of 102 euros for a single room for 3 nights the price was the only plus-point.; - Dripping wet, cold and disorientated (there's more than one Helmerstraat) the hotelier launched into an anti-smoking tirade within seconds of me arriving. He then handed me a pair of blue 'slippers' for use in the shower/toilet which was not - as advertised - on the same floor but on the floor above. I had to ask for a TV (which should have been included anyway)which having replied a bit glibly "I'll see what I can do" was duly supplied (minus a remote control)and so on the last of my three nights I was able to grab the newsheadlines which should have opened with "Miserable Dutch prick smacked in mouth" which would certainly have been his fate if Amsterdam was better served with hotels (and not manky little B & B's like this one masquerading as hotels). There were no signs with any info about the 'hotel' regarding fire escapes, breakfast times local info etc. just sign after sign about not smoking weed or hash anywhere on or near the premises. Wouldn't go back here AT ANY PRICE and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Tara Hotel Staff Rude, Decent Accomodations: 6 July 2009; 6.2; + Nice breakfast buffet, location only 10 minute walk from major plaza, cute room with plant and mirrors.; - Entire hotel staff rude to us: they recognized us as Americans and instantly disliked us, not helpful, short, acted as if we were an inconvenience by being there. Even though we booked online with a credit card, they only accepted cash at check out. We do not recommend.

Michael Gomersall Dissatisfactory / Rude Owners: 28 June 2009; 5.0; + The cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful and replaced towels with clean ones every morning if required as well as changing beds if we wanted. The room was small, but the beds were quite comfortable. We could come and go as we pleased with the use of a room card-key system and the side door.; - The shared bathroom never seemed to be cleaned all week, the shower's temperature was uncontrollable and the hook for the shower head was totally useless, we had to hold the shower head to wash. The owner of the hotel (the man) was extremely impolite and very unhelpful, on the few occasions we spoke with him he was particularly abbrasive and came across as unhappy to help. BREAKFAST was a selection of bread and cold meat, coffee and tea and the use of a toaster, breakfast was entirely self-service and the environment felt opressive. The elevator is old and very small, we could hardly get our two small cases inside aswell as ourselves. Our room was not equipped with a television or a telephone as was stated on the website, this was disappointing. Me and my girlfriend fiercely recommend that you do not stay at this hotel, it is sub-par to its unbelievable 3-STAR rating and must surely be up for a review soon.

Ontbijt is goed en werd goed aangevuld steeds.; - Koffie was wat minder, maar de uitgebreidheid was boven verwachting. Ontbijtruimte is klein, als iedereen gelijk zou komen zou niet passen. Werd snel opgeruimd als iemand wegging, waardoor het geen probleem gaf. Vloerbedekking was vlekkerig.

Anoniem Eenvoudige logeerkamer: 20 June 2011; 7.0; + Dit hotel lijkt een beetje op een Bed & Breakfast; de kamer die ik had (een 1-persoonskamer) was klein, eenvoudig en netjes. Het voelde als een logeerkamer. Het hotel is een heel goede uitvalsbasis voor het verkennen van de stad, maar niet als een plek om de hele dag door te brengen. Het ontbijt is keurig geregeld met een ruime keuze. De mensen in het hotel zijn vriendelijk. De douche en toilet waren ook netjes.; - Voor een zakelijke trip is dit hotel minder geschikt: ontbijt begint vrij laat (7:30 uur), in de kast in mijn kamer was geen ruimte voor het ophangen van pakken of jurken en het bureau is klein er een stoel ontbrak (daar was ook geen plaats voor). Maar, ik weet niet of het hotel ook ruimere kamers heeft die daar beter voor geschikt zijn. 's Nachts was het wat onrustig, niet in het hotel maar erbuiten. Geluiden vanaf de straat (verkeer, mensen op straat, muziek) waren heel goed te horen. Het verbaasde me dat de huisregels niet in de kamer te vinden was, maar aan de balie ter inzage werd aangeboden bij het inchecken. En, in geval van brand zou ik niet weten hoe je daar goed weg kunt komen - misschien het grootste minpunt. Verder een opmerking: je moet de rekening contant betalen.

Barbara Fasching-Lieber Gutes, solides, sauberes Hotel: 14 June 2011; 8.8; + Absolut sauber, gutes Frühstück. Neu renoviert. Dezentes und aufmerksames Personal. Lage 5 Minuten zu Fuß von der Straßenbahn entfernt. Einige Sehenswündigkeiten gleich in der Nähe. Sehr ruhige Straße - angenehm zum Schlafen, kein Trubel.; - Unser Vierbettzimmer bestand aus einem schmalen Doppelbett und zwei Einzel-Schrankbetten. Ist für Eltern mit zwei Kindern zwar sicher geeignet, aber für uns vier Erwachsene war es ein wenig beengt.

Rita La Heijne Fijn en schoon hotel midden in het centrum: 4 June 2011; 10; + We hadden een mooie kamer (4 persoons) lekker rustig, schoon, ruime douche, heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt, vriendelijke bediening, kortom het is ons prima bevallen en komen een volgend bezoek aan Amsterdam zeker hier terug. De ligging is ook heel gunstig, maar een paar straten van het Leidse plein vandaan, het centrum is goed te belopen.; - Wij hebben geen minpunten kunnen ontdekken, misschien het enige, dat we niet met de pin konden betalen maar een bank is snel gevonden.
