- Location - not service
- Location very good for sightseeing, museums, shopping and nightlife. Our room was with modern bathroom, but some where with really old ones.. worth requesting for!
- Unhelpful and unfriendly staff - don't expect them to show you to your room. Also since we arrived in different times half of our group had to pay in advance half when checking out with no reason given.

- Not bad for the price
- Good location.
- Single room I got was small and in need of decorating.
Shared bathroom on first floor not very inviting. Use the one on the top floor instead - much nicer.

- Not at any price!
- At the knock-down price of 102 euros for a single room for 3 nights the price was the only plus-point.
- Dripping wet, cold and disorientated (there's more than one Helmerstraat) the hotelier launched into an anti-smoking tirade within seconds of me arriving. He then handed me a pair of blue 'slippers' for use in the shower/toilet which was not - as advertised - on the same floor but on the floor above. I had to ask for a TV (which should have been included anyway)which having replied a bit glibly "I'll see what I can do" was duly supplied (minus a remote control)and so on the last of my three nights I was able to grab the newsheadlines which should have opened with "Miserable Dutch prick smacked in mouth" which would certainly have been his fate if Amsterdam was better served with hotels (and not manky little B & B's like this one masquerading as hotels). There were no signs with any info about the 'hotel' regarding fire escapes, breakfast times local info etc. just sign after sign about not smoking weed or hash anywhere on or near the premises. Wouldn't go back here AT ANY PRICE and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

- Safe, great location, friendly
- The folks working there were extremely helpful and friendly. Really felt at home. The gardens were gorgeous! The location was close enough (walking)to all there is to see in Amsterdam while being on a quiet street. Will definitely return and am recommending to others.

- - bed was a little bit strange. It is hard to describe.
- Room was too small.

- Hotel Staff Rude, Decent Accomodations
- Nice breakfast buffet, location only 10 minute walk from major plaza, cute room with plant and mirrors.
- Entire hotel staff rude to us: they recognized us as Americans and instantly disliked us, not helpful, short, acted as if we were an inconvenience by being there. Even though we booked online with a credit card, they only accepted cash at check out. We do not recommend.

- Dissatisfactory / Rude Owners
- The cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful and replaced towels with clean ones every morning if required as well as changing beds if we wanted. The room was small, but the beds were quite comfortable.
We could come and go as we pleased with the use of a room card-key system and the side door.
- The shared bathroom never seemed to be cleaned all week, the shower's temperature was uncontrollable and the hook for the shower head was totally useless, we had to hold the shower head to wash.
The owner of the hotel (the man) was extremely impolite and very unhelpful, on the few occasions we spoke with him he was particularly abbrasive and came across as unhappy to help.
BREAKFAST was a selection of bread and cold meat, coffee and tea and the use of a toaster, breakfast was entirely self-service and the environment felt opressive.
The elevator is old and very small, we could hardly get our two small cases inside aswell as ourselves.
Our room was not equipped with a television or a telephone as was stated on the website, this was disappointing.
Me and my girlfriend fiercely recommend that you do not stay at this hotel, it is sub-par to its unbelievable 3-STAR rating and must surely be up for a review soon.

- Very good location on a quiet leafy street, minuets from a square of bars and laid back coffe shops

- Goede prijs/kwaliteitverhouding

- Hotel maakt schone/ frisse/moderne indruk. Goed ontbijt. Rustig.
Flatscreen op kamer.Elke dag schone handdoeken.
Aanrader voor lowbudget.
- Frisdrankautomaat beneden was niet bijgevuld.
Liftdeur sleept over de vloer, daardoor lastig dicht te doen.

- Cheap, clean and central with room for improvement in service and food
- Bathroom and room were clean and comfortable.
The hotel is centrally located and reasonable priced. No drugs (hemp smoking) inside.
- Breakfast was horrible.
The interior design was unbelievably ugly (self made?).
The staff was inhospitable.
