• + The room was clean and cozy. There were strict smoking bans, so it was good for us because there was no smoke smell in the room nor in the corridors. The room and the toilet were very clean, I was surprised about it!! The breakfast was also OK
• – The room was extremely small, the double bed filled almost the whole room. And the toilet/ bathroom was also pretty small. So it was a good place if you are not willing to spend too many hours in the hotel

Provides very good value for money for a weekend trip with mates

• + Well located next to various tram lines, only a short travel from the tourist attractions. Good value for money. Generally very clean. Breakfast basic but adequate.
• – Bathroom provided very little privacy with only a screen door and no shower curtain. Although bedding was clean it just seemed unpleasant. Beds quite narrow.

A bad choice

• – Rooms are too small; no space to put your clothes and suitcase. Bed clothes, duvet and pillows need to be changed: they are dirty and old. The people in reception are not very friendly. There isn't a hall or bar to wait. No lift.I wouldn't call it a hotel but an expensive hostel. I've seen better HI youth hostels than this 'hotel'. We didn't like our stay. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Look for something nicer, friendlier and clean.

Pefect 4 travellers on a budget!

• + Good for travellers on a budget - this hotel has received some negative feedback which in our opinion is unjustifed. Breakfast was included - a real help. A Maoz falafel house on the corner - excellent!

Informal, friendly athmosphere in tiny hotel in great location

• + Very informal and pleasant athmosphere, friendly staff! Tiny rooms, but all you need for a city visit. Situated close to the colourfull lively Albert Cuip Market, plenty of restaurants and cafees, and in walking distance to Concerthalls and Museums. Close to tram/bus/metro lines to city center etc.
• – Could gain from a little extra cleaning, although basics were OK. Miss a coffee/tea machine/automate next to the cold drinks/sweets automate.

Cosy little hotel in the charming The Pijp area

• + We can absolutely recommend Max hotel as a small, cosy hotel in a very nice location close to the second hand market and the charming Pijp area. Due to the low price we didn't expect so high of a standard but got very positive surprised when we arrived at the hotel. There were towels, linnen, tv, cleaning, hair dryer, safety box and breakfast included in the cheap price for the room. We had 2 good nights sleep without any noises or disturbanse.
• – Maybe the shower wasn't so fresh.. but it depends on what you expect.

A nice hotel for a short stay

• + Excellent location near to Heineken, Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. You can easily get to the center of the city by Tram #4 or by feet. Friendly and helpful receptionists. We managed to rich a free WiFi Internet from the room.
• – Not too quiet, especially if your window goes to the street (a supermarket nearby starts reloading at 7:00 or so). You can perfectly hear your neighbors as well. Our double room was very tight, no bath, the shower was almost above the toilet sink. Perhaps, it's the same for the most hotels in historical part of Amsterdam.

Dissapointing!

• + It was easy to get around. Trams come often.
• – Hygiene was not good. After checking in (waiting 2hrs for the room to be cleaned) our in-room facilities were full of hair and dirt! The in-room facilities looked like an attachment in the room, it was very strange, the toilet was in one corner and the shower in the other with no separation wall....the result was if you had a shower no one after you could use the toilet as it was all flooded. There was no linen on one of the beds. We were on the 4th floor with no lift it was hard work getting up and down every day. The internet was too expensive 5hrs 25 euro!! Very poor hotel, very dissapointed...on the bright side the staff were trying to facilitate us the best they could! but prevention is better than cure!

• + People who work in this hotel are very welcoming. We met four our five persons and all of them were very nice. The breakfast was fine.

• – If you like sticking to the floor, this is the place for you! The floor are so dirty it actually smells and is sticky... We didn't pay for a 5star hotel so we didn't expect one, but they can AT LEAST wash the floor of the garden cottage... Also there is a youth hostel or student house right next to the hotel and they party 24/7. So take ear plugs if you don't want to join the party!

• + Since accomodation prices are relatively high in Amsterdam it is great that Hotel Max offers satisfactory lodging at moderate price. Service during the breakfast was good and friendly.
• – Our room was neat but the public toilet next to the reception was dirty. There was pretty much noise and banging of doors during night time. As Scandinavians we would have appreciated rye bread at breakfast.

• – in hotel we have found bad services and not courtesy. as soon as it arrives to you they have demanded us the advance payment every day of permanence. they have arranges to us to you in one allocate, indeed under scales where the suitcase did not enter not even. we have asked the change for the room otherwise we went via but they would not have given back the moneies to us. e' be one experience much negative with many arguments with the owner much discourteous one like also those of the reception. not to go even if it is near 20 minuteren from the center.

• + The hotel was much better than expected at a very reasonable price. It was a little bit of a walk into the main city centre but was a quiet, safe area and in Amsterdam you are never far from anywhere. We were helped when we had no toilet paper and the shower and bathroom facilites were great as they were our own private. Also good TV! I strongly reccommend to young budget travellers

• + Hotel Max was an adorable little hotel with nicely decorated rooms with rather updated furnishings. The beds were comfortable, the shower had nice water pressure, we were regularly given clean towels. We were also pleasantly surprised by the breakfast, as it provided toast, ham, cheese, cereal, OJ, coffee and tea. The location was great too, and the neighborhood was quite. It was also near a bus line that went straight into the center of town and a large outdoor market that ran everyday except sunday. That was a great advantage, and I really enjoyed staying here.
• – The only oddities were the toilet being fairly much in the shower, and the rooms being quite small. However, the ceilings were high so it didn't feel claustrophobic. Also, the wireless internet rates were quite steep, but we just went down the street to a cheaper internet cafe.

• + Having the toilet and shower in the room, the hotel can be considered cheap. Breackfast is nice and the bed is confortable.
• – The reception is downstairs, as is the locker room...even if it's a problem for just the first and the last day, it's an obvious lack of confort. They stop the heating in the room everyday, even with bad weather...you come back to the room with wet trousers and shoes and the room is cold! They didn't check the toilet paper daily so if you forget it can be too late... We had a dirty towel the first day...

• + Nice breakfast! Great location for tram, grocery shopping and also a ~200 m long traditional market, many restaurants nearby.
• – Internet service in the hotel is charged in a very high price: 5Euro/per hour~ 40 Euro/ per 10 hours. This is the only minus point I can think of as it really causes great inconvenience.

• – The rooms are extremly dirty, hair was laying around everywhere from other guests! The bedsheets were full of hair and stains. (The cleaning lady assured us that the sheets were washed...) The rooms are only divided by very thin walls, where you can here every single word that your neighbour is saying. The backyard was full of cigarettes, empty bottles and garbage. I've never been in a dirtier hotel before!

• + The location is two blocks from a major metro subway. There was good access to the surface metro on two lines. There were plenty of restaurants, pubs, stores,and a food supermarket, in which to provide for my trip needs. One of the staff was especially helpful with information.
• – Did not have the room cleaned every day. Light bulbs were out and not replaced. Did not assist with finding a taxi for checkout with many bags.

• + Goedkoop en daar is het hotel ook naar (€ 40 euro voor 1 nacht). Heeft meer weg van een hostel. Maar voor 4 tientjes hoor je mij niet zeuren. Derhalve niet teveel waarde hechte aan mijn minpunten.
• – -Het was behoorlijk warm in de ontbijtzaal. -Verder van het centrum dan we hadden verwacht. -Gescheiden bedden die we vanwege de ruimte niet naast elkaar konden schuiven. -Water liep niet weg in de douche.

Gewoon slecht hotel, slecht bed,veel te klein voor 2 personen.

Nice, clean hotel - not much luxury but good to visit Amsterdam!

• + Goede locatie tov centrum, Albert Cuyp en musea, bezienswaardigheden. Vrij rustige buurt, kleine kamer, maar praktische oplossingen maken de kamer prima geschikt voor een kort verblijf.
• – Veel trappen, smalle bedden, karig ontbijt en tegenvaller van 5% toeslag als je pint of met creditcard betaalt!
• * my tip Niet te zware bagage meenemen - die moet je zelf de vele trappen op zeulen ;-)

Gute Lage, freundliches Personal, einfaches Frühstück

• + Gute Lage. Wunderschöner Markt in 2 Min. zu erreichen. Freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal.
• – Fernsehen wurde in unserem Aufenhalt nicht repariert. Matratzen waren durchgelegen. Frühstück sehr einfach.

• + Goede locatie, vlakbij de Albert Cuyp en niet te ver van het centrum. Eigen badkamertje. Goed te doen voor een nachtje stappen. Hier betaal je dan ook voor...
• – Zeer mager ontbijt... oncomfortabel bed ... en de prijs/kwaliteitverhouding is zoek .... Maar dit geldt voor heel veel hotels in Amsterdam. Zogenaamde budgethotels waarvan de prijzen net zo hoog zijn als een 4-sterren hotel in Belgie en Duitsland.

• + Direkt am Albert Cypmarkt gelegen, schöner Park um die Ecke, nicht weit zur Tramstation, kurze Fahrzeit ins Centrum und zum Museumsplein
• – Betten sehr schmal, kein frisches Obst am Frühstücksbuffet, ich habe die Gäste aus dem Nachbarzimmer, bei allem, sehr deutlich gehört
• * my tip Nette Restaurants und Bars im Viertel de Pijp, unbedingt das orientalische Restaurant Bazar besuchen, sehr lecker und günstig. Lidl und China-Imbis liegen direkt um die Ecke und sind vom Preis / Leistungsverhältnis super. Essen und Lebensmittel sind im Centrum wesentlich teurer.

Gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis für Städtetrip!

• + Hatten ein völlig ausreichend großes Zimmer, immer frische Handtücher und haben auf Nachfrage auch noch eine Doppelmatratze auf zwei Einzelbetten bekommen. Frühstück war im für Amsterdamer Verhältnisse günstigem Preis mit inbegriffen. Liegt nur einen Block vom Albert Cuyp Markt entfernt und nah zur Tramstation. Einkaufsmöglichkeit direkt gegenüber.
• – Dusche und Toilette nicht abgetrennt, man sollte unbedingt Badelatschen mitnehmen, um trockene Füße zu behalten! Bad riecht auch etwas muffig. Frühstück eher einfach gehalten, keine Abwechslung.

• – Wir hatten zunächst das Gartenzimmer gebucht, aber das war nicht zumutbar. Der Putz fällt von den Wänden, diese ebenfalls voller Schimmel sind und es riecht regelrecht nach Schimmel und Feuchtigkeit. Dazu kommt, dass man auf der Toilette und Dusche auch von Bakterien angesprungen wird und alles nur zusammen gebastelt ist. Dusche auch voller Schimmel in den Fugen. Aber wir haben auf Anfrage und Beschwerde sofort ein neues Zimmer bekomen im Hotel Iris. Nur was wäre gewesen, wären alle Zimmer belegt gewesen? Also nicht zu empfehlen. Dazu kommt das Parken-25 Euro pro Tag.Nie wieder!

• + L'Hotel dista a piedi circa 15-20 min dal centro, il tram a circa 300Mt, ci sono 2 coffeshop proprio vicino a chi interessa!! L'Hotel si trova in una posizione silenziosa, anke se le camere sono piccole, per chi nn ha grosse pretese và bene. Il bagno è in camera a differenza di molti Hotel economici. La colazione semplice, ma almeno c'è! Gli addetti sono stati cordiali.
• – Nel letto nn ci sono lenzuola, (consiglio di portarsele) ma solo una coperta che nn era proprio pulita. In 4gg nn è mai passato nessuno a pulire e a fare rifornimento di carta igienica o cambio asciugamani.

• – das gartenzimmer ist verdammt dreckig, es ist überall nass an den wänden und zwischendurch gab es auch kein strom.wir mussten für zwei nächte das zimmer wechseln,aber mehr passierte auch nicht!warmes wasser war oft nich da un die heizung funktionierte auch nur tagsüber wenn kein mensch im haus ist!diesmal war es sehr unangenehm, aber man kam uns auch nicht preislich oder mit einem gutschein entgegen!es gab nicht mal eine entschuldigung!!!

• + Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb, ist aber durch gute Verkehrsanbindung durchaus zentral. Das Frühstücksangebot ist eher spartanisch gehalten; allerdings stimmen Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.
• – Es wäre zu wünschen, dass auch an Samstagen der Zimmerservice (Zimmer aufräumen, Handtücher tauschen) durchgeführt werden würde.

• – Schwarzer Schimmel in den Bädern, die schlecht riechen, Zimmer riecht schimmelig, Rezeptionist ist nett, hat aber keine Ahnung. Rezeption hat zu kurze Öffnungszeiten, man kann früh nicht abreisen und seine 20 Euro Depositum für die Fernsehfernbedienung zurückbekommen.

• + We wilden een hotel vlak bij Carré, en dat is gelukt.
• – Het hotel en de service viel letterlijk vies tegen. Er was te weinig wc-papier aanwezig; de kamer was smerig; we hadden een kamer met wc en douche geboekt, maar de wc en douche bevonden zich op de gang en moesten we delen met anderen. De zilvervisjes en spinnen hadden zich 's ochtens verzameld in het bad, dus we hebben ons er maar van af gezien om daarvan gebruik te maken. De bedden waren erg smal; er was op deze locatie geen personeel aanwezig. Het was beneden elke peil!!!

• + Wie oben ersichtlich ist die Lage des Hotels sehr gut. Man kann von dort aus alle Ziele in der Innenstadt leicht erreichen.
• – Der Service war schlecht, die Person, welche in der Dependence 'Hotel Destiny' anwesend war äusserst unfreundlich. Der Teppichboden war seit Unzeiten nicht mehr gereinigt worden und das Wasser, das aus dem Hahn im Zimmer kam war dunkel.

• – - keine direkte Parkmöglichkeit - Hinweis zum Parkhaus Heinecken wurde uns nicht gesagt, haben wir selbst gefunden. - Akkustik zu Nachbarzimmern und Flur ist schlecht - Fußböden PVC und Teppische (zu alt und unfreundlich)sind nicht unseren Bedüfnissen entsprechend. - Die Ablüfter müssen etwa alle 6 Monate gereinigt werden, da sich auch Staub in den Filten ansammelt und unhygienische veschmutzt - nicht behindertenfreundlich, steile Treppen. - keine Internetzugangsmöglichkeit angeboten. - kein Aufzug, für Gehbehinderte sehr schwierig. Fazit Minuspunkte: Betrachten Sie die Minuspunkte als positive Hinweise. Wir persönlich können mit diesen Minuspunkten leben und erinnern uns gerne an Amsterdam und die positiven Eindrücke die auch Ihre Hotel betreffen

• – het bed was niet schoon. kreeg een schoon onderlaken nadat ik erom had gevraagd. maar of het sloop en hoeslaken schoon waren betwijfel ik. de volgende dag was de kamer niet schoongemaakt, er was geboord en al de troep lag er nog.
