Warm friendly hotel
  • + Was nice to go back to a warm comfortable hotel on the very cold wet weekend we stayed there. Staff very efficient & friendly. Just far enough away to be quiet but in easy walking distance of all attractions.

  • I found for the price that I paied for the room, which was minute to say the least, more akin to a dormatry than a room excessive in the extream, when I complained & asked to be moved I was treated with indiffernce. a bad experience, as I love Holland & the Dutch people I will not let it jaundice my opinion of the country & the people, as my experiences in the past have all being good ones, Just will not use this establishment again or recommend it to any one else.
  • * my tip Could not recommend this establishment.

Great value hotel with central location
  • + Great location, nicely decorated, friendly staff, canal view from the room
  • Walls are thin and some noise from the street

Fantastic location, clean and comfortable
  • + The location was fantastic. Right where two of the larger canals meet, and away from the main centre. Perfect place to walk from to get anywhere in the city. Very helpful staff - I got in very early to amsterdam and they let me store my luggage and use their restaurant until my room was ready. For a lower end price scale, I thought the main communal rooms were decorated beautifully.
  • My room was pretty small, but was clean and comfortable. I was only there for one night on my own, so the size didn't really matter. No drink making facilities in my room which would have been nice.

Good but not great!
  • + location, location, location. Staff friendly without being particulary helpful 9see below). The rooms had some nice paintings and the view from the canal side rooms were good. didn't try any food there but the bar on the corner does great food. The "italian" restaurant next door (run by some, not quite flustered Indian blokes) is ok. Its location is the main draw. Good without being impressive. Bit less cost and more little details and security would br a draw in the future. its my second time, 1st time was 1995 and little seems to have changed!
  • Price a bit steep in some odd shaped rooms. Shower in bathroom of 204 was difficult to use as you could only use half of the bath to stand in when using the shower. Security was lax as evidenced by the unmanned reception desk that a guy jumped over and robbed room keys from, and i presume burgaled. The staff were friendly but no tea or coffee in the rooms or kettle, in fact quite bare. My friend asked for a cup of tea after 12midnight and we informed there was no facility for this. Its meant to be a 3 star! And room service until only twelve. Maybe a coffee and tea machine in reception? At least with people around it might ward off future robbery attempts, just a thought!

Clean hotel, good location, very small accommodation (yet comfortable)
  • + room was clean, bathroom nice though cramped. did not have the complementary breakfast due to waking up late on both days
  • room was about the size of a box. Single room with the smallest of TV's and a single wardrobe. For 150 euros for 2 days you would expect something bigger.

rooms too small
  • the rooms were so small they were uncomfortable, EVEN WITH ONE PERSON THEY WOULD AHVE BEEN AWFUL BUT WITH TWO PEOPLE IT WAS A NIGHTMARE, you could not even walk around the bed also you could not sit on the toilet properly due to your knees hitting the sink. the map location is wrong on this website, it is at the very southern part of the street, much further away from the centre than this website makes you think

Excellent location at a good price for a very small room
  • + Excellent location at a very good price. However, room is very small (smaller than some of the college dorms I had visisted with my children.)
  • Restroom has bad odor (swerage smell), which appears to be caused by poor/no drainage vent.
