NH City Centre Amsterdam

Adequate, but based on past stays at this hotel, disappointing

• + Location, friendly staff, clean
• – No room service, uncomfortable bed, small room with very high window. I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times in the past and although the hotel is adequate it has lost some of the quality and now only offers reasonable value for money..
• * my tip Excellent cafe for breakfast - left out of hotel, left down alley and at the end on your left

Satisfactory stay

• – Very narrow parking space located underneath the hotel. Potential customers should be warned only to use small to mid size vehicals.

Wonderful hotel please make sure that they secure a room for you!

• + Comfort, toiletries, bedding, television, safe, refrigerator, 24 hour concierge.
• – Have stayed at this hotel many times. This time prepaid months in advance, when we arrived hotel it was fully booked. Sent to another supposedly better NH hotel (was not better) and it was further away to this hotel than other superior NH hotels. - Windows did not open at all, and were painted shut.

Disappointment with roo

• + the reception staff were very helpful, informative and friendly. also i asked for a wake up call and it was made to the second.the heating was as hot as you wanted which came in handy as it was very cold during my visit. many thanks. i think the NH group is a good hotel chain. ive stayed at the NH Caransa and that was very good also.
• – the only faults i could say is that the lighting in the room was not bright enough. also the minibar only had two bottles of water.

Besides lack of airconditioning, very well located and comfortable

• + the internet service was way too expensive. It should be free, like most international hotels. Also when I paid for the internet, I was told I would get free landline calls. I tried to make a call and was told my pin number that I was given did not work. When I called customer support for Swisscom, it said the number was not active.

Best location for touring Amsterdam

• + Friendly, helpful staff. Awesome location. Quiet (despite being at the Centre of everything). Comfortable room.

Overcharged and no airconditioning

• + Centrally located. Rooms clean and while they are small they were nonetheless adequate.
• – No air conditioning in the room making it hot and stuffy. Charged an extra €10 from original figure. Not sure why , didn't ask because I didn't realise it at the time.

• + Centrally located, very close to tram, the superior room we had was really nice, clean,sufficiently big...
• – but, in case you mind, it had awful view. It was a side room, with view on a narrow alley, so you could only see the pipes of the opposite building (front rooms probably have view either to the street or the canal, as the hotel has 2 entrances).

• – Reservation information should be uploaded to the hotel, as soon as possible. Not at the day of arrival time, it causes problem....rnrn

Great location, one bad assistant manager

• – Service. I had booked and paid for 3 double rooms. However one of my colleagues was a single lady and was placed in a single room without any notification. When we complained all that was offered was a free breakfast for this one lady. Which meant she had to eat on her own. There was no explanation apart from that a single room costs the same as a double !!!!. I was very disappointed.
