Hotel NH Galaxy Amsterdam is located 1.5 kilometres from Amsterdam Central Station. Besides free parking and fitness facilities, the hotel offers a complementary shuttle bus service to the city centre. The shuttle bus, available between 12:00 and 23:00 h., takes you to the NH partner hotel Barbizon Palace which is opposite Amsterdam Central Station. Are you travelling by car? Excellent food in bar - good to have pool table too. Internet was good bonus - so we could sort out boarding passes.

Staff were very good at apologising for their mistakes. City Centre shuttle bus was great.
Concierge rather bluntly informed me that I did not have a booking upon arrival. Once I produced paperwork to the contrary he had to disappear out the back to make "some phone calls" upon his return he had found our booking. When we got to the room it became quickly evident that we were in the "backup room" going by the state of it. Decor, whilst clean was not up to the usual high standard set by NH Hoteles group. Breakfast was late and not what we ordered. Upon checkout we were billed twice the amount originally advertised - although this was refunded and corrected. Again staff were very good at apologising.

Good choice if you're traveling by car

Breakfast wasn't included in the price (were informed about it when reservation was made) and the price for a breakfast was 18 EUR, which is to expensive in my opinion. Not the safest location.

The free parking is a plus for Amsterdam. The free shuttle from the hotel to the central station is also a definite plus!

The shuttle bus is very convenient, drivers were prompt and helpful. The breakfast lounge is spacious with lots of light. Breakfast was excellent. The DVD player in the room is a nice & unusual extra (bring your own movies, rental costs 7euros). Location was very quiet and beautiful.
Getting into the hotel late at night is kind of a weird procedure, you have to identify yourself through a speaker. Distance from the city center was more than we thought, getting back and fro was sometimes a drag (ok, shuttle bus took 5 minutes)hotel name is misleading

The room and bathroom were very comfortable and clean and we were thankful for the air conditioning. The DVD players in the room are a nice feature. The lobby is quite nice - large with plenty of comfortable chairs. The cafe is convenient for getting a quick cup of coffee or a sandwich. There is also an ATM right outside the front of the hotel that was very convenient and much appreciated.
The biggest minus on this hotel is the location. And that is not really so bad except that the name of the hotel is misleading. Since it's the NH Central Station, we thought that it would be within a block of the central station. When we arrived at the train station, we went immediately to the information desk to ask how to get to the hotel. They were unfamiliar with it and so called the hotel for us. We were told it was a 20 - 30 minute bus ride to get from the station to the hotel. Fortunately, it turned out to be only about a 10 minute bus ride so it wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. Once we got to the hotel, we found out there is a free shuttle between this NH hotel and the one that IS close to the train station (NH Barbizon). But we got conflicting information about the daytime schedule. We were first told it ran regularly (every 1/2 hour or hour) and later told it only runs on request until 4 PM and every 15 minutes from 4 until 11 PM. At the hotel, we were also informed about taking the ferry across the river behind the train station and then walking for 10 minutes. We used this method the most but it added almost 1/2 hour travel time to all of our activities.

Hotel was quiet, Staff were very nice and helpful, minibus service was very good air Conditioning was great.
Distance from the City Centre was too far,and we were disappointed with the rooms, which were a bit shabby and could do with a makeover. I think this Hotel is more like a Three Star Hotel.

Very clean and modern. Amply furnished.
They could not find an extra duvet for me ! Although the shuttle which takes u to the city is convenient, Amsterdam is a place where one should perhaps stay in the city center. If one feels like walking out into the city after a restful evening at the hotel, it is not possible without having to worry about the shuttle timings etc.

With a car through the tunnel it`s very quick to get to the center of Amsterdam.
The bar is very expencive ¤ 6,- for a beer! There is no swimming pool. There ara hardly any propper resturants in the vicinity.

the hotel was clean and we liked the location outside of the main city but within easy walking distance.
1. We had to change rooms as when we got into our toom there was a very loud ventilation/air con unit outside our room which you could hear even with the windows shut. We did not have problems in getting another room but I feel attention could have been paid to this in the first place as I cannot imagine anyone wishing to put up with this noise. 2. The main problem we had which would put us off booking with NH hotels in the future (as a group not just the individual hotel) was the problems we had when paying for our hotel, when we got back to the UK and contacted our credit card companies it appeared that the hotel had tried to take 3 payments, therefore our bank had frozen our credit cards meaning we had insufficent funds to pay for other items, fuel being one of them and we had also planned to shop when we arrived in france prior to boarding our ferry and we were unable to do so. We had taken our car for this reason and it ended up being a complete waste of our time and also meant that our last day of our holiday was a very dispondant and disappointinng one. We wil not therefore be booking any further stays with NH hotels as I found the staff very unhelpful with this issuse and they insisted it was due to insufficent funds (at no time did they atempt to look into this matter further). I have also advised all friends and relatives againist usinng NH hotels due to this.

Your hotel is in Amsterdam.
I forgot my passport in your hotel on a toilet seat. I called in to ask that someone go in my former room and pick it up. Instead, they told me it was lost. I believed them. I had to get a new passport. Next day, people from your hotel called me and told me they found my passport behind the toilte seat. It was too late. Lack of service shows in your laziness and no desire to excel in what you are there for in the first place - customer service!

- When we arrived, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and there were no free rooms left, even with our reservation. (I must say that we were offered to change for another even better located hotel, but this was not convenient for us) - Finally we got poor and old decoration, that was disappointing. Not a 4-stat, but 2+ star room with old furniture, tiles and sanitary equipm.

Douche was oké. Bed was goed.
Geen shuttle naar centrum, was wel beloofd. Kamer zag er uit als bouwval! Muf hok, zeker niet 4 sterren waardig! Als je in Nederland een hotel met 4 sterren boekt mag je toch wel enig comfort/luxe verwachten, of die sterren hier zijn erg overgewaardeerd.

Mooi Hotel, alles goed verzorgd.
Shuttledienst welke op de site staat bestaat al een tijdje niet meer. Je moet dus zelf maar zien dat je in het centrum geraakt. De buurt is ook niet echt super, vooral shoarmatenten en andere vage en vervallen cafes.

Enige pluspunt: Voldoende en gratis parkeerruimte.
Nu de minpunten: Ruim overgewaardeerd hotel. Verouderd hotel. Geen 4 sterren waard. Te duur. Kleine kamer. 15 minuten lopen en dan nog de ferry voor naar Centraal Station.

Nogal kostbaar voor een hotel dat ver van het centrum afligt.
Goede ligging t.o.v. de industrie in Adam Noord. De naam CS is echter voor buitenlanders een instinker.Reisafstand is zeker 25 min.
Erg duur voor een nogal gedateerd hotel. Op zich was de kamer in orde, doch niets bijzonders. Ontbijt was erg karig en werd slecht bijgevuld.

Lage sehr gut, sehr zentral. Gutes Frühstücksbuffet.
Einige Zimmer waren kleiner als gebucht, es waren offentsichtlich nur Durchgangszimmer. Hier waren die Betten klein und nur von einer Seite zugänglich.

aufgrund der Lage sind kostenlose Parkplätze vorhanden. Mit dem PKW leicht zu erreichen. Vom Hotel wird ein Shuttel angeboten. Aber nur wenige Minuten entfernt ist eine Bushaltestelle, von dort fahren regelm. Busse zum Central Station. Auch ein Nachtbus fährt regelm. Fahrtdauer ca. 10 Minuten. Hotelfachkräfte sprechen auch deutsch.
Zimmer sind schon etwas veraltet.

wij hebben al enkele keren in dit hotel verbleven en we vinden dit hotel zeer praktisch om een weekendje amsterdam te doen. wij kiezen voor dit hotel vooral omdat het dicht bij het centrum is, de parking is gratis en de gratis shuttledienst naar het centrum is super.

Shuttlebusservice eher im 30min.-Rythmus anstatt der angegebenen 15min und zu Stoßzeiten längere Wartezeit. Das Bad war eher 3 Sterne Standard (Duschvorhang statt Duschwand, Bürodeckenstandard, lieblose Fliesen)

es war 15 Minuten vor der Schließung der Küche nicht mehr möglich ein Essen zu bestellen der Shuttlebusfahrer wartete nur auf Trinkgeld, Gäste, die ihm welches gaben wurden sehr bevorzugt behandelt, andere die nichts gaben nicht mehr beachtet
