- A clean hotel outside the citycentre. You get what you pay for.
- Clean and tidy and you got what you paid for
- Very small bedroom. Probably a single room at a twin supplement. Also i asked for water for breakfast only to find out i was charged for it on check out. There wwas no mention of a charge on request of the water.

- Buffet breakfast preferred!
- The biggest plus point for this hotel is it's location. It is very central, close to Reiks museum and easily accessible by tram or foot for sightseeing.
- I object to having to pay for the use of a safe in the room. Breakfast was 'served' and although included juice, breads, boiled egg (usually warm & hard), cheese , ham, tea & coffee, a buffet to include cereal and fruit would be preferable.

- A pleasant city hotel
- The hotel is clean and the service is personal and pleasant.
It is within a walk of 15-20 minutes from the major sites in the city.
- More attention should be given to maintenance, for example, the sink was in the process of being clogged. This problem could easily be solved by pressurized flushing. Some of the lower tiles in the shower had black fungus in the crevices.

- Comfortable hotel, great deal
- Hotel Nicolaas Witsen has an extremely friendly and helpful staff. The room was small, but very clean and had everything I needed. Wireless internet and breakfast were included in the price which was a huge plus for me.

- Nice stay in Amsterdam
- Location is very nice as just 5 mns tramway, and then 10 mns to downtown Amsterdam. Quiet place.
- We have asked in our booking comments to have 1 large bed despite 2 small beds (as this was optional), however this was not taken into account, what is not normal. Hopefully we just stayed 2 nights.

- Everyone working at the hotel was just first rate--in terms of friendliness and efficiency. I am bringing a group of students and another colleague in May. I completely recommend this hotel. The hotel was very affordable in January.

- Amsterdam is expensive, so is not the hotel to blame.
The hotel is nice, is clean, its a true 3 starts hotel, but we were surprized at the size of the room and its comfort.
- Just a little far away from the center, but just.
A little bit noisy, but just because of the door and walls thickness, the hotel was almost empty so I don't know it if gets noiser with more guests, but really wasn't annoying.

We had a simple double room, very clean.
Centrally located in the Center of the city.
Easy reachable by public Transport (Tram line 4)
Good value for money
- Beds are a bit soft.
Breakfast not very exciting if you stay more than 1 or 2 days, as there is no buffet to choose from.

- The location is great for getting around. We were able to walk to all of the main areas of interest we wanted to see. If you are not into walk a whole lot, the train is right there to jump on.
- With the exception of our last day, I found the front desk staff to be not very helpful. We asked for a restaurant recommendation and were given a tourist map of the city. Although it was off the beaten track, I found it to be very noisy with the train continiously going by at all hours of the day and night. Although my companion advises me European hotel rooms are cramped, I did not find this of our stay in Italy. I would place this in the 'budget' hotel category and would not be eager to book here again. I would recommend staying closer to Ann Frank's house...

- Bathroom was too small and also the single beds were too small. I am a large person and could use a bigger bed. The beds as such were ok but as told before too small. No further minus points.

- Great location, close to trams and walking distance to everything! Nice rooms and very friendly staff.
- Easy for you to fix: change towels more often! We didn´t get new towels at all during our 4 days stay, and as the bathrooms are rather small and humid, the towels were still damp when we had to use them again. Maybe not so easy to fix: individual lights above the beds needed - one person wants to read, the other to sleep. Well...

- The price of the room, but that's apparently how expensive Amsterdam is. For the same price and quality in Madrid it's half the price.
