The Owl hotel houses in a traditional building, consisting of two authentic Dutch manors, close to the city centre. The hotel is situated in a quiet street near the beautiful Vondelpark. During the summer the Vondelpark is full of activities, such as free concerts and the presentation of open air movies.
The Owl hotel offers the tranquillity of a residential area with the sparkling city centre at walking distance. In this comfortable and quiet environment you stay at just a stone's throw from the green Vondelpark and the vibrant Leidseplein. Within the same street you will find the so called Zevenlandenhuizen. This is a row of beautiful buildings that were built in different building styles that are typical of seven European countries, amongst which are France and Russia. Public transport in Amsterdam is fast and frequent. From Amsterdam Central Station multiple tram and bus connections will take you to the Leidseplein from where it is just a few steps to the hotel. At the Leidseplein there is always something going on. The many restaurants, bars and outside terraces offer dishes from all over the world, as well as the many opportunities to indulge in cultural delights.
This comfortable hotel is housed in a traditional building, including 34 rooms where personal touch and pleasant service are merged, providing a warm welcome. All of the rooms are equipped with private bathroom, television, hairdryer and a direct phone line. The hotel offers a laundry, dry-cleaning and babysitting service. At the hotel a lot of information regarding excursions and trips is available, which can be booked easily through the hotel.
Food and Drinks
The breakfast room overlooks the garden and terrace, guaranteeing a tranquil start of the day. Breakfast is served between 07:30 and 10:30 h. In the cosy bar you can enjoy a wide variety of drinks but the hotel does not have a restaurant. This is where the nearby Leidseplein comes in because there are numerous restaurants and bistros that provide an excellent choice of dishes in every price range.
Internet
The rooms at the Owl hotel have an internet connection.

- Basics covered, and then some
- Very clean, friendly & helpful staff, great location, good price, 24-hour reception area - small room, but with comfortable beds and pillows. Quiet street, very close to museums, restaurants, and activities. Would definitely return, and recommend to anyone who wants cleanliness, convenience, and comfort, but is not looking for extravagence.
- Seems like it could be noisy at night had there been more people around -- but, for our visit (November, Off-Season), there were not many guests on our floor and it was quiet throughout the night.

- Wonderful stay in Amsterdam
- Friendly, accommodating staff. Even arranged for early breakfast due to early departure. Wonderful little garden area. Convenient location - close to the old city, but not in it. Could walk to all tourist attracions, without the noise level of the old city. Found the small lift quaint.
- The room was small, but since we only used it to sleep in, it didn't bother us.

- Very clean rooms and bathrooms with lovely shower. Great to have a TV which also had access to UK TV stations too. Lovely breakfast but the toaster was a bit hard to work.
- It was a shame there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms. It would also have been good to have a fridge with bottled water freely available in the rooms.

- I'll be back!
- I thought the hotel was great value for money. It certainly met the criteria I judge by i.e. clean room and bathroom, decent shower, comfortable bed, good breakfast(included in the price)and quiet(yet accessible to all the "sights") location. I also have to mention the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful.
- Nothing much. However, a kettle (tea/coffee making facilities) and an extra pillow would have been nice!

- Highly recommended - but bring ear plugs!
- Reception made us feel most welcome and were always willing to answer questions. Good breakfast available until 10 which was great. Good location. Tram stop very nearby. Shuttle service from airport worked like a dream. Good size, clean room. On the whole Amsterdam is a great city to visit.
- My only complaint is if you are not an early riser you are going to be woken up by the very first guest who gets up, as all the walls seem to be paper thin and anyone running a bath/shower or hair dryer might as well be doing so in your own room. Also every door seems to have to slam to close. A problem for someone who likes to wake up around 8.30 like we do on holiday.
