the internet service was way too expensive. It should be free, like most international hotels. Also when I paid for the internet, I was told I would get free landline calls. Buffet breakfast preferred!

The biggest plus point for this hotel is it's location. It is very central, close to Reiks museum and easily accessible by tram or foot for sightseeing.

I object to having to pay for the use of a safe in the room. Breakfast was 'served' and although included juice, breads, boiled egg (usually warm & hard), cheese , ham, tea & coffee, a buffet to include cereal and fruit would be preferable.

Nice place to stay if going to the Heinekin Music Area

We really enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable good size bathroom although would have preferred a shower opposed to a bath. we would recommend it.

Furniture in the room could have been dusted down ther was dust everwhere. A bit chilly at night could have done with a extra blanket, radiator needed bleeding to get more heat out of it. A bit of a walk to the hotel from metro station could do with a Taxi rank outside of the metro station. Checkout should be later.

The rooms are not very clean! The carpets are very dirty, many dirty spots! The walls badly need to be repainted in all rooms! Dirty scratches and dirty spots on the wallls! The bathrooms are clean, but badly need to be refreshed and the walls to be painted. Basically, the hotel needs to be cleaned and repained.... Also, it is very loud in the backyard, as the people can sit in the bar outside till 1.00 AM and it is not possible to sleep till at least 1.30 AM....it is just too loud(night!). Many guessts did complain about the noise to the reception, but no one reacted..... the hotel is not wothy 70 Euro per night.... or it should be renewed!

Just what we needed. Great for us

Great service, the guys were great and always went the extra mile. The room was clean and nice, breakfast was ok, just perfect for us. Exactly what we needed for a few days in Amsterdam. And it didn´t break our bank account.

The size of the room was on the small side, but honestly, we had what we needed, the layout was smart and we never felt uncomfortable. It wasn´t right in the centre of the city, but if you think ONE metro stop (to Waterlooplein) is too much, then it was too far away for you.

Review the room, before accepting

Location, although parking a car might be a challenge.

We stayed in room nr 14. In bathroom, upper board of the door, was very dirty. You can see dark blue dirt lines with drops of it - it was terrible. Lighting lamp of the "living room" was very dusty inside, nobody had cleaned for months. A bible was used to keep an heavy window open, we removed this. Reception refused to change coins for parking, as they are not an exchange machine. What if I would have liked to have a beer - could not sell - no exchange? After 450 km driving, we had to go to city to begg for a change, it was imparrasing. Breakfast was 15 euros per person, as if in luxury hotell. Instead we had good breakfast at bakery for 11 Euros for two adults. Last time we stayed at Prince Hotel, the same street, nothing special, but clean and friendly. I am glad we did not have children along this time. Never ever again.

Great Location, fresh and clean.

Location wonderful. Overlooking the Herengracht canal on one side and the Singel on the other. Less than 5 min walk from Dam Square but no hurdy gurdy commercialism around. Peaceful. Noticed other reviewers comment on street noise at night - negligible. Just a few merry revellers passing by on their way home. Simple ordinary hotel behind a beautiful facade. Clean fresh bright room - we had a quad. Perfect base for sightseeing. service overall good. We have 2 children with serious nut allergies and staff went out of their way to check cereals and found ones that were safe.

my only negative was with hotels.nl site. when booking room we were unable to specify that 2 of the occupants of our room were under 12 yrs old. The hotel specify that such kids are free when sharing room with 2 adults, but because we booked a quad room thru hotels.nl we had to pay full price. Hotel says if we'd booked thru their own website we could have got reduction

A little off-key

A private room rather at nearly a hostel price was good, as well as a small fridge and a large window. (Not all rooms are equipped with the same window)

No customer service, linens were questionably clean and I found several things missing in my room; after looking for them for an hour I gave up and left only to have room service hand me my license without a word while I waited for the elevator; bizarre sketchy and not cool.

Peace and quiet with good monetary value.

We liked the location of the hotel because it was away from the hub bub of the city but convenient to get to from Schipol airport and to travel by tram to get to the major sites of the city.

Our room was small and minimally furnished. We found a fan in the closet to cool the room but there was no place to stand it on. We had to turn over a waste basket in order to lift it from the floor.

Good Breakfast, although the coffee was never refilled, and one had to ask for fresh. Had a smoking room.

Terrible location,(in a construction area), The Lift was broken our whole stay, good that we were only on the 1st floor. No additional ameanaties (hot tub, sauna, pool etc).
