- Unpleasant Stay
- The only real plus that this hotel has is its location.
- Walls are paper thin. Doors don’t work. My "deluxe room" was right by the elevator. It was waking us up every time someone used the elevator! When I complained after 2 nights of enduring this, I was rudely asked "what took you so long to complain". I was unceremoniously put in a room half the size, with not even a minimal offer of compensation whatsoever. In the new room, upon flushing the toilet, it took 20 minutes for the water to stop running. Two days in a row, they did not clean our room.

- Good for the price you pay, but you can find better
- A pretty good location, quite near the centre, comfy beds, a tv with around 40 chanels and a DVD player, pretty clean, friendly service. Good price for what you get. I payed 98 eur for 2 nights (and split it in half with a friend) so only 24 eur per night for a twin room each
- I'm a young student, so not the richest guy in the world, and I had to leave an unexpected 50 eur deposit (which I got back when I checked out), which is quite a lot of money for me and they didn't mension anything about that on the website. Also the room was non smoking which was a shame because it's Amsterdam if you know what I mean :p Another big minus is that the hotel is kinda far away from all the popular bars and clubs of the city.

The Piet Hein Hotel Amsterdam lies at the green oasis of the Vondelpark, within walking distance of the Museumplein and the Leidseplein. Interestingly, the hotel has a nautical atmosphere. - Excellent hotel in great location
- Fantastic location right in the Vondelpark and only steps from museums and shops. The hotel's interior is very stylish and cozy, with comfortable and beautiful rooms. The hotel bar is a lovely place to relax and meet with friends. Service is very helpful and friendly. Guests have free access to the internet and the hotel has printing facilities. Staff helps with booking museum tickets to avoid the queues.
- Can't really think of much. The bathroom ventilation system seems to draw in smoke from smoking areas outside the hotel (as the hotel itself is non-smoking), which is a bit unpleasant. Switching off the room A/C caused the room temperature to drop steeply overnight, while leaving it on means some noise. We didn't try the breakfast as it was not included in the rate.

- Perfect for a romantic stay
- It is a nicely situated hotel with a serene room decoration, which offers a pleasant neutral atmosphere for everyone's taste. The very high ceilings and long windows with the beautiful view over the park (I stayed on 3rd floor) with its long dark heavy curtains give a romantic touch to the room. Nicely aired, fresh and clean room and bathroom, a comfortable bed. The lift was barely heard from my room which was a definite plus point. In summary, a good traditional Amsterdam hotel, which puts you in the same mode as the city, you'll feel like you belong.
- Only the size which actually is part of Amsterdam and can be quite cute. I could say that the double room was a bit too small for two people, with one of the bed sides against the wall and a tiny bathroom with hardly any space to put down toiletries. As I stayed by myself it was perfect, and so it would be for a fresh couple, I'm sure. If planning to stay with a friend then I'd suggest you request a double room with twin beds for more comfort.

- A little off-key
- A private room rather at nearly a hostel price was good, as well as a small fridge and a large window. (Not all rooms are equipped with the same window)
- No customer service, linens were questionably clean and I found several things missing in my room; after looking for them for an hour I gave up and left only to have room service hand me my license without a word while I waited for the elevator; bizarre sketchy and not cool.

- Review the room, before accepting
- Location, although parking a car might be a challenge.
- We stayed in room nr 14. In bathroom, upper board of the door, was very dirty. You can see dark blue dirt lines with drops of it - it was terrible. Lighting lamp of the "living room" was very dusty inside, nobody had cleaned for months. A bible was used to keep an heavy window open, we removed this. Reception refused to change coins for parking, as they are not an exchange machine. What if I would have liked to have a beer - could not sell - no exchange? After 450 km driving, we had to go to city to begg for a change, it was imparrasing. Breakfast was 15 euros per person, as if in luxury hotell. Instead we had good breakfast at bakery for 11 Euros for two adults. Last time we stayed at Prince Hotel, the same street, nothing special, but clean and friendly. I am glad we did not have children along this time. Never ever again.

- Good value in a nice area
- I really like this hotel and stay here often. It is good value, particularly if you book more than a week in advance, with larger than the average Amsterdam hotel room. Service is friendly and I like this part of town although it may not be central enough for some. It's a short tram ride to the centre.
- Breaksfast is not included and rather expensive, although it is a good spread. I just skip it and have a broodje in a cafe, of which there are many near by - I recommend the Ponteneur. Maxwells and Boom.
