Staff were very friendly and helpful, and room was neatly maintained. Location is excellent, especially for those unfamiliar with the city -- the complimentary city map and coupons for bike rentals were also very appreciated!
–
A small shelf -- even one that hangs from the shower attachment -- would be useful in the shower stall, for one's own soap and toiletries, etc.

I've stayed in many different hotels in Amsterdam over the years. Piet Hein is good value for the money. Nothing fancy. Decent hygiene. Friendly staff. OK breakfast. Good location.

Goed, schoon hotel
+

Not all the staffs gives good directions. we were given wrong directions on several occasions. on our last day, one of the staffs pointed us to a different and further away bus stop to catch the bus to the airport when we had checked with another staff the night before on the closest bus stop to catch the same bus. even thou both were right, it sent us panicking and running much further than we should to catch that same bus.

Excellent Stay
+
My girlfriend and I have avery enjoyable stay at the Piet Hein Hotel in Amsterdamn during the last weekend in Janauary this year.
Initally we were choose the hotel due to its excellent location but we were also extremely impressed with the service, breakfast and comfort as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
i think its an excellent choice for couples or a group of friends looking for a great and affordable hotel during a weekend stay in the city.
–
It would be harsh to be too critical however the only two points I could make are: the bathroom was surprisingly quite cold and instead of a doubel bed that we requested we got two singles put together (but that happens at most hotels so no real grounds to complain about that).
Over all a great stay in a great hotel.

Nice and comfortable in a good location
+
It is a comfortable hotel in a very good location. Easy to get around with public transport and walking distance to the art museums. Staff is very helpful and friendly, it is clean, nicely decorated and breakfast is good and plenty. I would come back.
–
It is small but to be expected in an original Amsterdam house. (space is used efficiently tho). The only real minus point for me was the mattress; it was awfully soft.

Geat location with a high degree of comfort
+
Before arriving correspondance regarding getting to the hotel was prompt and helpful. The location was perfect, close enough to the city to be able to walk everywhere but also on the adge of a peaceful park. The service was of a very high standard and the abitity to leave luggage greatly useful. The room was clean and the bed very comportable. Medical advise from the night staff was also most appreciated.
–
Breakfast was expensive with an additional suppliment for room service.
