great value for the money
  • + Cheap price, breakfast included! Beds are comfortable, common bathroom quite clean, good location.
  • Quad room is VERY small (at least that one where we stayed), we barely had a space to move there, but for us it wasn't a problem since we were there just for sleeping.

  • (Travelling alone)
Good quality for quite a cheap hotel.
  • + The location was perfect for me; not noisy because it wasn't right in the middle in the centre above some bar like the most hostels/dorm rooms, but it was still very near Leidseplein. In about a 5 minute walk you're there. I also liked the fact that you could get a free (yet very simple, but what else do you expect for this price ;)) breakfast every morning. Also the bathroom was surprisingly clean. The dark man at the reception was really friendly and helpful too.
  • The things I didn't like was that I asked for a towel the first morning, asked for a new one the next morning and got the answer that I had to use the one from the day before. Also the cleaning guy was really unfriendly. I was in the room, blowdrying my hair when he came in and instead of cleaning another room first, he started vacuum cleaning around me (seriously!), which was actually really hilarious.
  • * my tip Take your own shampoo and that kind of stuff. :)

Bad and evil staff do not stay in this hotel at any cost.
  • + Good location
  • dangerous winding staircase with some railing dislocating. room dusty and smell of fungus growth(smell like microscopic fungi). Bad desk manager very negative about visiting to Museum and flower exhibit but rather on building arch. Bad and evil staff who bring our heavy luggage from 3rd floor to 1st floor because of their mistake on d part of our booking. But because it was a cold and rainy night, we have to bare the humiliation of moving back to the room that we originally stay. Total 4N stay.
  • * my tip No. I will never encourage any body to stay in such hotel where they just pack your belong, due to their own mistake, and leave them at the dinning hall resulting with damages to our belonging. we stay 4N at the hotel it was on the 3rd N that they did to us and we stay the same room on the 4th N. Bad staff have no regards for their client. It does not fit for their rating. They didn't help but enjoy our ordeal. very wicked and inconsiderate even to my lady companion.

Not bad, friendly service, you get what you pay for.

  • (Travelling alone)
Decent for the price but a bit extra spent elsewhere might be better
  • + Good showers, comfortable bunk beds (long enough too, I'm 6'4), location is good (close to Leidesplein, Museumsplein, and Vondelpark, Albert Heijn supermarket just down the street)
  • Lockers in rooms are a joke, I was able to open 3 out of 4 with my key when I found the one I had been assigned already had stuff in it. Bizarre toilet, one for the whole floor as far as I could tell and basically in a closet - required some gymnastics. Staff were OK, but obviously just a place for them to clock-in/clock-out and wait for the paycheck; in fairness for €15 per night I had pretty low expectations.
  • * my tip If you were travelling with a group and got a room to yourselves it could be a pretty solid place to stay.

  • + easy to find the way back from the city, even its not located in the centre of amst but really close to everything. Like the bulldog coffee shop is like 800 meters( not that like i went there, just i checked on google maps:) also comfy room is on the plus side.
  • internet sometimes terrible.Like i checked in my Skype log, every third minutes the connection was lost. However the wifi is free so you get what you paid for. Also on the minus side the breakfast which is once is good, but on the third day more like its boring same thing every morning.
  • * my tip dont visit amsterdam during winter time:)

Very decent hotel for the price
  • + Great prices, free breakfast and Wifi.
  • Room was quite cramped and the shared bathroom was often difficult to get into especially in the mornings (but this is what you'd expect for such a low price).

  • + Staff was very pleasant! Breakfast a plus. Rooms tiny, but clean. Showers cleaned every day, no complaints. Room cleaned well, bed & duvet VERY comfortable. Not too noisy. I don't think I could have found better for 30 euros a night! easy to walk to Leidseplein without the noise and chaos. Close to Albert Heijn for food. Ideal for anyone on a severe budget! I heartily recommend it, I felt safe and comfortable.
  • Really don't have minus points - for the price of 30 euros a night you can't expect the Ritz -- but it was basic, clean, pleasant and convenient.

Great time in amsterdam
  • + It was really great services and convenience despite of the price.
  • Too far from the tram station.

Helpful staff but very simple hotel with old and used furniture
  • + Maja on reception was very nice person, very helpful. We wanted to change room first day and she arranged immediately. The hotel is nearby Vondelpark, what is nice area. Maja recommended us Happ-Hmm restaurant when we tried typical Dutch food. We liked it. Shared bathroom was always clean.
  • We had to change 3 rooms within stay - first one, because of bed, second one because of small insect in bed - that was very unpleasant. They changed immediately, but still we had a bad feeling till the end of stay. Breakfast was OK, nothing special, no fruits or vegetables. Next time I would rather choose another hotel.

Tiny rooms
  • + Not far from canals and some major streets,it's convenient to go to the Central Station by tram.
  • The room and everything was so tiny I could hardly move around. My room was on the top floor and I was climbing Everest mountain a few times a day.The breakfast(poor selection) didn't worth 7 euros they charged.

  • (Travelling alone)
Satisfactory for a short stay.
  • + Location was great; quiet, just outside of the entertainment district, and within walking distance to just about everything.
  • I wasn't prepared for the steepness of the stairs, and hiking up three flights with luggage was difficult. The room (4-person) was much smaller than I expected. Although I could connect to the wireless internet network, I was never able to actually load any pages. The staff was not able to help.

Reasonable price in a great location
  • + Location is great Showers and toilets in hall, but excellent and alwalys available Reception was positive Sink in room Modern windows Complementary wifi good
  • Smallest room ever No closet No lift: 3 story walkup on narrowest possible steps...colorful! Breakfast for 4 days was only bread cheese & coldcuts; no eggs or fruit

You get what you pay for, especially in an expensive city of Amsterdam
  • + I liked that they had breakfast daily with some protein but wished they offered fruit and yogurt as well. I liked that they had a TV with English channels in the room, a sink, and free internet. I liked the people that I was put with in my dorm and was glad that nobody partied in the room. I also liked that it was close to the Leidesplein square where everything is happening late at night and very close to Vondelpark and museums. Very close to tram, cafes and grocery store but I gave it a lower score on location due to being on the street. Most of the staff was pretty friendly regardless of my first impression.
  • When I first arrived, the guy at the front desk wearing a cap was very rude to me. Once I told him how I was surprised how I thought people were supposed to be more friendly here then all of a sudden he was nicer. The first night was the worst as I barely got any sleep due to all the city traffic into the late hours. Be prepared to hear the tram go by, motorcycles, bikes, people, etc. I thought about asking for a room somewhere else but I slept fine the rest of my stay since I had been so busy. I was also disappointed that I couldn't find a decent hard boiled egg during breakfast as they all fell apart. I had wished there were mirrors in the toilet rooms also. The showers needed to be cleaned more regularly as I saw clumps of hair in the drain.

A good place at a good price & a good location; I'll come there ag
  • + The desk clerks were both very helpful & friendly; this is crucial. The breakfast was good & the coffee the best instant coffee I've ever drank.
  • The reading lamps of other guests made too much light, when I wanted to sleep.
