Anonymous Very decent hotel for the price
7.0
+ Great prices, free breakfast and Wifi.
- Room was quite cramped and the shared bathroom was often difficult to get into especially in the mornings (but this is what you'd expect for such a low price).

+ Staff was very pleasant! Breakfast a plus. Rooms tiny, but clean. Showers cleaned every day, no complaints. Room cleaned well, bed & duvet VERY comfortable. Not too noisy. I don't think I could have found better for 30 euros a night! easy to walk to Leidseplein without the noise and chaos. Close to Albert Heijn for food. Ideal for anyone on a severe budget! I heartily recommend it, I felt safe and comfortable.
- Really don't have minus points - for the price of 30 euros a night you can't expect the Ritz -- but it was basic, clean, pleasant and convenient.
Craig Linton Cheap, clean friendly. All you need for a weekend in Amsterdam
7.4
+ Friendly service, nice and clean, budget hotel, don't expect a huge amount for the money. All in all not too bad.
- Scarey staircase's!!
Anonymous Great time in amsterdam
8.6
+ It was really great services and convenience despite of the price.
- Too far from the tram station.
Anonymous Tiny rooms
7.6
+ Not far from canals and some major streets,it's convenient to go to the Central Station by tram.
- The room and everything was so tiny I could hardly move around. My room was on the top floor and I was climbing Everest mountain a few times a day.The breakfast(poor selection) didn't worth 7 euros they charged.
Anonymous Helpful staff but very simple hotel with old and used furniture
5.6
+ Maja on reception was very nice person, very helpful. We wanted to change room first day and she arranged immediately. The hotel is nearby Vondelpark, what is nice area. Maja recommended us Happ-Hmm restaurant when we tried typical Dutch food. We liked it. Shared bathroom was always clean.
- We had to change 3 rooms within stay - first one, because of bed, second one because of small insect in bed - that was very unpleasant. They changed immediately, but still we had a bad feeling till the end of stay. Breakfast was OK, nothing special, no fruits or vegetables. Next time I would rather choose another hotel.
Anonymous Great budget stay
9.4
+ location, price, clean, great breakfast, good bed
Anonymous Really great for the price, decent neighborhood too
9.2
+ free breakfast
- person in my quad snored BAD
Anonymous Satisfactory for a short stay.
7.4
+ Location was great; quiet, just outside of the entertainment district, and within walking distance to just about everything.
- I wasn't prepared for the steepness of the stairs, and hiking up three flights with luggage was difficult. The room (4-person) was much smaller than I expected. Although I could connect to the wireless internet network, I was never able to actually load any pages. The staff was not able to help.
Hal Stemmler Reasonable price in a great location
6.8
+ Location is great Showers and toilets in hall, but excellent and alwalys available Reception was positive Sink in room Modern windows Complementary wifi good
- Smallest room ever No closet No lift: 3 story walkup on narrowest possible steps...colorful! Breakfast for 4 days was only bread cheese & coldcuts; no eggs or fruit
XXXXXXXX
4.8
+ free wifi in room which also worked well relatively (to Amsterdam standards) cheap
- television did not work difficult stairs
Alec Robertson Good place, Stay here....
8.8
+ Good friendly atmosphere
Anonymous You get what you pay for, especially in an expensive city of Amsterdam
6.2
+ I liked that they had breakfast daily with some protein but wished they offered fruit and yogurt as well. I liked that they had a TV with English channels in the room, a sink, and free internet. I liked the people that I was put with in my dorm and was glad that nobody partied in the room. I also liked that it was close to the Leidesplein square where everything is happening late at night and very close to Vondelpark and museums. Very close to tram, cafes and grocery store but I gave it a lower score on location due to being on the street. Most of the staff was pretty friendly regardless of my first impression.
- When I first arrived, the guy at the front desk wearing a cap was very rude to me. Once I told him how I was surprised how I thought people were supposed to be more friendly here then all of a sudden he was nicer. The first night was the worst as I barely got any sleep due to all the city traffic into the late hours. Be prepared to hear the tram go by, motorcycles, bikes, people, etc. I thought about asking for a room somewhere else but I slept fine the rest of my stay since I had been so busy. I was also disappointed that I couldn't find a decent hard boiled egg during breakfast as they all fell apart. I had wished there were mirrors in the toilet rooms also. The showers needed to be cleaned more regularly as I saw clumps of hair in the drain.

+ if you get there at 8 you'll get breakfast
- rooms not seperated by gender. front desk not accomindating. very far away.
Anonymous A good place at a good price & a good location; I'll come there ag
9.4
+ The desk clerks were both very helpful & friendly; this is crucial. The breakfast was good & the coffee the best instant coffee I've ever drank.
- The reading lamps of other guests made too much light, when I wanted to sleep.
Future Amsterdamer We just enjoyed
9.0
+ Everything was just great. Perfect location, friendly staff, good breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!
- Small rooms, but we were just sleeping there, so... no minus points, really...

7.0
+ low price, clean,nice
- personnal no sympatic.
Mark Stanmore Great budget option
6.4
+ The staff were friendly and welcoming
- The toilet was a bit cramped which made it difficult to use
Laura A comfortable budget hotel
7.2
+ The hotel is in close proximity to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum and a 5-10 min walk from the lively theatre square. It is clean and comfortable for its very low price
- It's a pretty long walk from Centraal Station to the hotel, maybe half an hour without cases to carry. The walls are quite thin and the street outside, Overtoom is busy with trams well into the night and early in the morning.
Susannah Mallaghan Good budget hotel
6.2
+ The room was clean, comfy bed and the staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast was basic but the quality was good considering the price.
- The only downside was having shared toilet and shower rooms, however these were cleaned throughout the day and for the price is was expected
Mark Levin Great Monetary Value Hotel
9.4
+ Good Hotel - Even has some budget dorm beds - Really Nice! Easy to get anywhere anytime and can also walk if you prefer. Very Decent Breakfast! This Hotel's rates are usually better than most HoStels.
- Hot Secretary found another job - Ahhhh
Mark Levin What a bargain!
9.2
+ Price is usually excellent. The accommodation, breakfast and needed service you get for the price is unmatched if you're a positive, unselfish person. If you get a good price, be grateful for being in a hotel even if you're in a shared room - If you're loveable, the hotel and all it offers should be loveable too. If you like bargains, this is the hotel for you but If you're the kind of person that demands more than you paid for, you might find the staff unfriendly. Help find solutions to your requirements and you'll have a much better experience than if you expect everything to be handed to you at check in. Be happy & enjoy Amsterdam, it's culture, parks, food, friendliness and awesome chill environment.
- I've stayed here so many times, I really really don't find anything negative except the occasional higher prices.
annette hammeren myrabø Ok
7.6
+ internet , warm room
- toilets falling apart and nasty shower. but warm water is good.
Youssef Tarek Hefny
4.8
+ Location is very good, just exactly at the tram station and a 5 minute walk from the liedsplien, Staff are casual and freindly.
- Rooms are too small, Sound insolation too poor, you can hear everything around you from people talking in the street to the guy taking a shower in the bathroom, one bathroom for every 8 people, Its not really a Hotel, its a Hostel.
Shuai Liu Better cancelation policy needed.
6.4
+ Friendly staff and complimentary breakfast.
- My flight was canceled due to bad weather so I had to pay the first night's rate and the second night for a total of 80+ euros which is far over my budget. I had to pay anyways because I canceled after the 48-hour deadline (but before then I wouldn't know the flight cancelation). I hope the cancelation policy would be less strict towards cancelations due to act of god.
Mark Levin Practically Perfect in Every Way!
10
+ Love it - Best in Amsterdam for budget cultivated travellers.
- There aren't any when in love and I think I'm pretty much in love with Hotel Princess.
charles nazario A really good deal
10
+ location was good, place was clean ,felt safe breakfast was really good, it excedded my expectations
- cant think of any
Mark Levin I Luv U Hotel Princess - Always!
8.8
+ The Dorm Beds which Incl breakfast are usually the best deal in the city. Don't be a nuisance asking silly questions. If you make an effort, the hotel staff will too and you'll have a great time.
- Can't think of anything anymore - Got used to the Tram at night running outside the hotel and Snoring from other room mates. Remember: Your holiday is what you make of it - It's all up to you!
Anonymous Budget hotel, not too bad
7.2
+ the stairs were not near as bad as a few of the hotels/shops i went to. it was close to the museum district
- the shower was dirty, make sure to bring shower shoes. it was far from the red light district/train station
Ravinn Hostel but not hotel, single room is a bit over-priced
5.6
+ The hotel is safe and generally the staff is customer friendly. The location is actually good.
- The price is a bit too high to offer a hostel service even though it is named as a hotel, shared toilets are quite inconvenient. The stairs are quite narrow and high for each step since it is a bad point for staying in the room upstairs like me.
Kristin Fischer Good location and nice place
8.4
+ newly refurbished toilets great location friendly staff nice breakfast relatively quiet
- showers could also need refurbishing (floor) very thin walls
Umar Ayeop Azizuddin Nice cheap hotel
7.4
+ cheap, nice location, free breakfast
- -the toilets and shower need to be cleaned (still acceptable but not very pleasant) - steep staircase!
Tanja Far better than expected!
8.4
+ friendly and helpful staff; close to the city centre; breakfast, towels and linen included; very easy to get to know nice people
- very small room; only one shower/toilet on the floor; traffic
Sarah Mackay If you want cheap and dont mind being treated like crap this is for u!
4.8
+ Cheap with free wireless and breakfast.
- Only one member of staff was friendly and helpful. all the others were down right rude - i work in the business and this really bothers me. The guy on reception didn't even stop talking on the phone for one minute when i went to make an inquiry, He just nodded at me to speak and carried on what he was doing.
Ales Danko A good place to stay overnight.... but no longer
7.2
+ clean well-located
- unfair payment conditions rude receptionists
Anthony Page Ok hostel, accommodations are expensive and of poor quality in Adam
5.6
+ toilets newly refurbished
- very small room, especially for 4 people showers need to be refurbished as well
Åt?pán Close to center on budget
6.6
+ Close to the center, next to the tram station, cheap
- Not very clean rooms, next to the tram station, late check-in
Ashley Brown Safe, clean, hostel not hotel
5.6

Nik Great Hotel on a Budget
8.0
+ free wifi. very close to the van gogh museum and the rijksmuseum. walking distance from downtown amsterdam/redlight district. vertical stairs. free breakfast. friendly staff.
- poorly ventilated showers. tram outside makes a lot of noise.
Anonymous Its what you get from a 1 star hotel not bad at all
6.0
+ its a great loation everythin easily accessible. staff were friendly enough bathrooms always clean. has ensuite shower room.
- HOT had good weather while we were there and our room was unbearable at times had to sleep with balconey door open being on overtoom the noise was pretty loud but did manage to sleep they should consider A/C or fans
Mette Terkelsen A nice budget hotel
7.2
+ Location, friendly staff, breakfast included, free wireless internet, nice atmosphere. All in all a nice place at this pricelevel - I've got no complaints despite the few minus points!
- No elevator, no aircon, no towels
Anonymous Easy to find
7.2
+ hotel felt secure nice city life views out of the windows seems to attract pleasant guests, probably due to hotel name several trams stop out front
- variety of prices. frustrating to find out cheaper rates were available
Kendra Chritz Amsterdam on a budget
9.0
+ Extremely friendly staff, lots of extras (free internet, delicious free breakfast, free plug converter).
- Location...distance from downtown, kind of hard to find. But worth it when you do!
EMMANOUIL LOULAKIS Read my experience in there...
3.8
+ Nice location...DO NOT GO THERE ! DO NOT GO THERE !
- DO NOT GO THERE ---> Sticky place with a strange smell, everywhere, that i never realize from where did it come from...The toilets should be cleaner since they are shared !!It was raining and the water was coming in the room from EVERYWHERE,GOD ! The reception was rude... The manager was more rude than the others working there... They changed me room(cause the rain almost destroyed the room) without letting me know that,i got back in my first room and my suitcase was not there...I told them and they were asking me if i used any drugs or if i smoked any marihuana instead of say sorry and start looking for the suitcase...Anyway the suitcase found in the room i was supposed to go(they just took my suitcase and moved it,big deal i just freaked when it was missing,DAMN) since they've changed me room...No sorry , nothing. After that i asked to check out one day earlier and they couldn't give my money back so i forced to stay in this damn hole !! DO NOT GO THERE !!
Maurice Great for a short stay on a budget
8.6
+ staff were helpful, hotel very clean, good that a breakfast is included - unusual at this price.
Elena Velichko Nice hotel.
8.6
+ Close to Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum. Good breakfast. Free wi-fi. Warm. Comfort beds. The staircase is narrow as everywhere in Amsterdam but is very stable, light and with good stairs. Safe area (not as in Red Light District).
- The water in the sin and shower in the room went down very slow, the pipes were clogged up. But we could use the shower in the corridor (1 shower+ 2 toilets for 4 rooms) so it was not a big problem. Earplugs are a must (because of trams, neighbours and ventilation)!
cody Good enough
7.4
+ Low cost. Great location.
- Spotty wifi. Gross bathrooms.
paola alfaro Friendly hotel
8.6
+ the location is excellent, easy to find and arrive very nice people reception relax place you can feel like at home
- maybe because i had a heavy bag the stairway was a problem, but not important...
Thomas Kreuh A Good Experience!
7.4
+ Location is great; from my personal experience the staff is friendly. The breakfast is decent...always fresh bread. The people I meet including staff were great fun and helpful. Do not act like a clueless traveler, be yourself and they will help and respect you.
- Like all hostel/hotel you do not know what kind of people you will meet/be with. Though my experience was good and nothing happened, I would not trust anyone or take things at face value. Safety of my belonging was always an issue. The bathrooms could have been cleaner.
Henning Put more effort into it
3.8
+ Location good . Breakfast good
- Walls are dirty in rooms. Breakfast late. Very rude and insulting staff
