- Disappointment
- It is the center
- I booked an extra night and the deskclerk said it was confirmed, but I was trown out when new personel appeared, the booking couldn;t be found in the computer. I had to drive around town to find another hotel. I was very disappointed and acktually very angry because the deskclerk assured me it the room was free for another night. Also I was in a room with a lot of noise (builders next to me) and it took hours to check in because the room wasn't ready etc.etc. I am disappointed in your way of doing bussiness.

- Would not recommend The Quentin Hotel Amsterdam
- Service was rather helpful, for the most part. Location is convenient.
- A bit noisy. There was a cigarette in a cup on the window sill when I checked in the first night. Phone didn't work properly. Towels were removed but not replaced one day and I had to ask for new towels at the front desk and only received one towel replacement.

- We had an excellent long weekend - room was comfortable and clean and hotel is perfectly located next the Leidsplein. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great price and great base for exploring Amsterdam - top marks all round.

- Near the square Leidseplein (200m).
- 1. A terrible reception. When we arrive the girl at the reception doesn't even see goodbey, and keeps talking which her friend by phone.
2. Not possible to leave your luggage in a luggageroom. They advise you to go to the central station for €2 a hour.
3. Not possible to make outgoing telephone calls.

- YOU GUYS ROCK!
- You guys have a very nice hotel in a perfect location for 1st time visitors and frequent ones. Staff was very helpful espeically Walt and Olga. Keep up the good work and I will be back next year.
- The only minus point is wishing guess can purchase items in your hotel with other currency. Banks there don't exchange and the currency Xchange stores rates are ridiculous. Other wise, GOOD WORK!

- Good hotel in a very good location.
- Great location, fine view of canals, efficient (though terse) staff, easy way to get from Schipol - with bus 197 which leaves you at Leidseplein for 10 euros round trip
- Cimplicated "lost items" policy. I may have left a package there but 10 days later I still could not get a definite answer to "have you foubd a package?" Apparently lost and found items are sent to a storehouse elsewhere but no register is kept at hotel

- NEVER AGAIN Quentin Hotel
- Location, the only one.
- Double Room too small.
Low quality service.
Our room wasn't cleaned for all the stay, towels not changed, open shower.
Dangerous stairs at the entrance.
The receptionist asked for the payment immediately, before showing the room. They charge 5% additional fee when paying by credit card without any previous announcement.
Rooftop window without curtain.
The hotel hasn't got the luggage room.

- As bad as it gets?
- Always nice to come to Amsterdam
- No locker-room at arrival 3 hours before checkin. When inquiring about this saying that there was a locker-room last time I was there the receptionist answered: Do you think I am lying!
No heating in the first room.
Smoke from the chimney coming in through the window
Remote control for TV did not work in either of the rooms I got and was never fixed during my four day stay.
Had to change hotel because of the heating problem.
Was promised (so it sounded on two occasions) room for two extra days but did not get it, and had to pay too much for a new room 31.12. The Quintin receptionist could not help us to find a new room (by owner policy!)
Had an eye infection but the receptionist did not help me to find a doctor

- Good price/quality/location compromise, but unfriendly receptionist
- Very good location
- We have encountered an understanding problem about payment procedure. It was at the begining my fault, because, it's perfectly explained in the booking response mail.
But, arriving at the hotel, the receptionist has lost her calm, when I've said her I've payed by internet. Ok, it was a mistake. But I think, there is a commercial attitude to keep, in this kind of situation. We haven't feel, we was welcomed in Amsterdam.

- Poor.. poor service.
- Location.
- There was no room available, supposedly because there was a plumbing problem in my room. Sent me to a sister hotel where they offered me a 'room off the patio area'. Room was actually a shed off the main building. This shed was damp, with an electric space heater and a leaking toilet. I refused! After a lengthy, sometimes argumentitive conversation with the often very rude receptionist, and a few phone calls on the receptionist part, I was given a room on the second floor. This is a smoke free hotel, but my room smelt like it was smoking central for the previous occupants.

Payment on arrival
- Sometimes one can hear and even see a mouse in the room.
Elevator did not work at the moment of leaving, and the stairs are very steep.
A person on duty (a girl at the reception)was not polite enough - 28 Oct 2008 between 6 and 9 p.m.
TV set in my room was extremly old: black and white, with one channel only, without remote control.

- Very clean and hygienic .. brilliant location as it is only 2 stops away from the centre. Deco was superb and the room was perfect .. basic double room but very comfortable and clean ..
- The customer service was very non - existent. he girl who sat in reception during the day was very monotone (never smiled or said thank you or please). She was not talkative at all, and looked as though she did not want to be there.

- The room was kept clean by the room service but the carpet was "grotty" to the point that I would not walk on it without shoes. How much can it cost to carpet a 6'x10' room? Also had to take shower drain apart and clean out big hair clog.YUK

- Large gaps under the room door(4th floor)allow mice in! Hotel should consider filling the gaps even if just a metal carpet strip scrwed to the back of the door to meet the carpet- then if door then wont open due to the angle of floor, change the hinges to swing and lift type! As guests dont like mice.

- Its a decent room for the price I paid.. I would come back
- was walkable from city center.. although a long walk, about 3k.
Decent room. I was to share the toilet but got an attached one. It was a nice surprise.
Room was pretty small but would not expect much in Amsterdam. It was close to museums and other attractions.
- 1) They had problems charging my credit card. Had to give they three different cards before one worked.
2) Asked them not to clean my room but my stuff was moved around.
3) They gave me a key and said it will work with the main door. Mine didn't I returned late night and had to spend 10 mins banging at the door before someone turned up.

- Location.
- This is a budget/backpakers hotel trying to make out it is better than that. Staff generally disinterested although not actually rude. No bag storage on site, not even a hint of allowing us to check in early. Payment terms are 'in full on arrival!!' and 5% surcharge on all credit cards. I have a euro debit card which should not incur a charge but the reception just told me that it would (going to get cash was something for me to do instead of checking-in a bit early - just a hassle with carting my bags along too due to no storage). Rooms were grubby, only 2 coathangers, no plug for basin and an allowance of one towel each. Good grief!

- -The hotel was reaaaally well located, you couldn't find better, especially for that price !
-Our room smelled of cigarettes, but they managed to remove the smell without us asking.
-The bed was very comfortable.
-It's located in a pretty safe area
-there's no problem to go out at night and they have a 24-hour reception.
-They give you a pass to open the door of your bedroom and the door to the hotel when it's too late at night.
-The staff wasn't too rude.
-There was a big elevator.
-We didn't hear ANY noise from outside, even though we were just above a construction site.
-It's very easy to find it when you take the tram from Centraal Station.
-The bathroom was ok, you can even fit two people in the shower ;)
I think I'd go there again. I recommend it to young couples on a budget.
- Well... for that price, what do you expect ?
-We could hear our neighbours having sex
-they don't change your sheets and towels (which is ok when you stay there a couple days like we did.)
-The bedroom wasn't really... pretty, but the bed was big even though we staid in the Economy double room, which is said to have smaller beds.
-The bathroom was ok, you can even fit two people in the shower.
-I think the cleaning lady insulted us in Dutch... but we did step in the elevator which she had just cleaned.
So, if you don't go to Amsterdam just to stay in the Hotel Room, this one is perfect.

- Not at all the hotels fault but when you get a taxi from centraal station do not pay the 35 euros to get to the hotel, he told us it was 17km from the station and took us down the motorway. We walked to the station going home and it took us 30 mins max! Like i said, not at all the hotels fault but wanted to put it on here to warn other prospective visitors.

- The location of the quentin hotel is excellent - very central, very close to groovy shops and funky bars and restaurants, easy access to all parts of the city. Quiet at night so you can get a good sleep to prepare you for the next day. Also, our room had a gorgeous canal view.
- Although clean, the soft furnishings in the room had seen better days. The net curtain had holes in it, and the carpet was threadbear.
Although the gentleman who checked us in was pleasant, upon giving us our room key he gave us no directions to our room. We struggled up 3 very steep flights of dutch stairs with heavy bags before realising there was a lift.
Overall though, I had a good stay at the quentin and would definitely stay there again.
