WestCord City Centre Hotel Amsterdam is conveniently situated in the heart of the city centre. From the Central Station the hotel can be reached in 5 minutes, but the Dam square and numerous museums are within walking range as well.

WestCord City Centre Hotel Amsterdam is a trendy hotel right in the middle of Amsterdam. Out of the 106 rooms in the hotel 86 have been renovated and upgraded to trendy deluxe rooms. On top of the regular facilities these rooms offer air conditioning, a flat screen television and free broadband Internet. The deluxe rooms are equipped with a spacious bathroom including 'rain shower'.

Standard rooms are equipped with a private bathroom (with shower or bath). All of the rooms have a phone, trouser press, coffee and tea making facilities, safe, desk (and chair), hair dryer and television. The modern furnishings of the rooms combine comfort with a pleasant atmosphere.

Due to the excellent location, the centre is always within grasp. Around the corner you will find the Dam square, from where a lovely stroll will take you to the Rembrandtplein. Car parking arrangements are not made clear on internet. When we arrived it added 40 euros to our expenses. Lessons learned....don't drive to Amsterdam!

Convenient location, walking to distance to many attractions, and if you want to go further afield, tram stops outside hotel, and Centraal Station about 5 - 10 mins walk.

Rooms are pretty small. Double bed pretty short, I'm 5ft10 and slept with my feet touching the wall at the end of the bed. Bathroom is part of the bedroom, seperated by glass....fine when travelling on my own, but not a good thing if travelling with friends. Not much room to sit on the toilet as bathroom quite cramped.

Room a little small, no more place around the bed which was curiously placed against the wall. I would prefer top of the bed close to the wall and table at the end of the bed !

Three friends on holiday

Chambermaid done an excellent job of cleaning the room.

Glass toilet and shower cubicle is very invasive. Pillows on the bed are too small and are more like cushions. No ice buckets and if anything is required for in the room and you call reception, then you then need to collect it yourself anyway. No smoking rooms and no where outside the hotel for smokers either other than standing right outside the main entrance which does not look good.

Tidy rooms in the hot spot at fair price - we recommend

Good service staff, cleanness. Tasty breakfast. The glass-walled bath is a good choice for a small room like that. I was afraid getting a room faceing the street but the window perfectly locked the noise out.

To make save-ups of cleaning the towels you should build up a plus towel-rail to the bath wall - there is enough place for it. And also for the bath: the lighting at the front of the mirror is rather poor to have a shave or do a make-up properly.

A lovely hotel in general with some quirky features.

A really lovely hotel to stay in and right in the middle of Amsterdam. Set back from the Damrak it is much quieter and is well away from the hustle and bustle.

The room was a little on the small side but i guess it would have been pretty good size for Amsterdam . The design and layout of the room was odd to say the least and we didn't much appreciate the glass walled bathroom but each to their own.

Excellent location for transportation, just 5 min. to Centraal Station-Red Light-Damsquare, tram stop in front of the hotel. In the middle of the best coffee shops (Anyday is just behind the hotel, Grey Area is close, Dampkring is 10 minutes by foot) in the city. Tea-coffee making in the room. Not very small room like many others. They let us check in at 10:30 AM !!!

If you look for a completely silent room you better book back side rooms. But in A'dam we never care about it. The house-keeping was ok, but the furnishing in the standart room was old, same is the carpet. They charge you extra 2.5 EU for the safety lock which we could not understand...

A nice comfortable hotel in a good location. Tram stops right outside so you can easily go anywhere in the city. Glass bathrooms are different and the rain shower is amazing. Would definately recommend to others.

Excellent hotel for seeing Amsterdam

Room was small, but more than sufficient. Very smart layout of furniture. We had a window out to the back alley, so we didnt hear any traffic, even if the hotel is 5 minutes walk from train station. Excellent with flat screen easy visible in bed, and free LAN connection. Serviceminded people in the reception! Lovely shower, and trendy bathroom. Highly recommended.

The price is not cheap. But you do get what you pay for. The wall to the bathroom is made of glass! This was not a problem for us, but it could be to some people.

Still has the feel of a renovatedh

The central location was very nice and the rooms were very clean.

Our room overlooked a very busy and noisy street with party goers and loud voices, cigarette smoke wafting up to our room til at least 0330 or 0400 hours each night. The room is very small with a very small bed from what we are comfortable to sleep in and the pillows are very large/thick to sleep on. The glass walls of the bathroom are not effective. In the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep, I would normally have gone into the bathroom with the light on and read my book til I was tired but with the glass walls, the light shone into the sleeping area and disturbed my husband. Some things in the bathroom are best left unseen and unheard as well. The shower in the morning was only lukewarm and I was showering by 0900 hours. If I had a shower in the late afternoon it was always hot so I know there was hot water at some times just not enough in the mornings to accommodate all the people staying there and for the price, I think we all deserved to have hot showers each morning.

If you just need a clean bed this is ok.

Customer service not very good. We stayed over thursday and friday and both nights there were people partying very loudly in their rooms and into the halls as late as 4:30 in the morning. Front desk manager stated that many people complained to him - but they did nothing to stop the disturbances. No assistance was provided with our luggage and when we requested assistance in locating a theater we were told to go to the tourist center at the train station.

Breakfast was excellent

The room was very small, directly to the street, very noisy because there was no airco so the window had to stay open. The reception offered a more expensive room when we at the hotel but did not explain the advantages so we stayed at the original room. After complaining there was an other possibility but they thought that we preferred the outlook on the street. We were there just one night!!. A bit stupid!!

This hotel has an excellent location with a less than five-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Train Station. It is only one block away from the city’s main street, so there are plenty of very good restaurants nearby. The hotel also had a very good breakfast buffet. The room was very modern and well appointed with features such as a flat screen TV mounted on the wall over the foot of the bed. As is typical of most European hotels, the room was small compared to American standards, but the desk workspace was adequate. Front desk service was very good. This room had one of the more unique bed layouts I have seen in a hotel room, but it worked very well (all part of the modern design). Overall, this hotel represented a very good value, especially over the last hotel we stayed at in Amsterdam.

The room design was very modern, but some couples may be a little uncomfortable with the frosted glass enclosed bathroom. We were fine with it and thought it added a lot to the room plus it made the room feel bigger. If you are a non-smoker, be sure to request a non-smoking room. When the elevator opened on the smoking floors, you could really tell it was a smoking floor. The same can be said of the front part of the lobby.

Renovated rooms were clean and modern. Furnishing was nice. Location of the hotel is excellent.

The room was tiny, there was no room for luggage (we had to move the chairs to the corner to be able to open the suitcases). The glass walls of bathroom are not appreciated when staying with a friend, meant only for couples I suppose. We reserved a twin room, but did not get separate beds (there were two beds, but they were attached together - and even if they weren't, there was no room to move them). The designer of the room wanted the room to be trendy on the expense of practicality and comfort.

Service is great, Arno was the friendliest hotel receptionist ever! Location is very handy as a starting point, close to Centraal Station and tram lines. Room (VERY SMALL!) was clean and comfortable.

No fridge in room. Room is small, nowhere to put suitcases because there is useless shelving taking up space. Glass bathroom! I'm not a prude but bathrooms should be soundproofed!

very luxurious and sophisticated hotel. Good hotel for weekend break for couples. Would definitely stay again. Excellent central location and although we were initally concerned that this may result in traffic/pedestrian noise, I can safely say that there was no noise late evening until early morning.
