+ Stylish, modern hotel in the heart of Amsterdam that is reasonably priced and offers really good value for money. Rooms well maintained and super clean; staff attentive and efficient.

- I think I had the worst room in the hotel, with a view of a blank wall, which was starnge considering I arrived around 2.00 pm, when plenty of other rooms should have been available. The receptionist was very polite and offered a better room next day, but who wants to move once you have unpacked? Also the safe and the coffee machine were not working properly.

+ Great location right on Dam Square. Room design was spacious and very appealing.

- No spa facilities. Soundproofing in rooms (to outside noise) is inadequate - due to location there is constant street noise.

+ The location was perfect!!! Close to the train station and staying in close proximity to Dam Square was fabulous! The front desk provided train tickets to purchase, which made it easier when checking out, we had a flight to Denmark and didn't have to worry about transportation.

- I was hoping for the rate to be lower, but once arriving and receiving the excellent service, it was well worth it!

+ Breakfast is fine. Internet access is available in business center. Location of hotel is satisfied.

- Room is too small, just like a cage. When you open the window, you can even reach the balcony of neighbour apartment by hand, which made me very depressive. No king-size bed is available, just patchwork of two single bed. No enough information are provided in reception.

+ Breakfast was very good quality and quantity. Employee's very helpful, pleasant and courteous

- The shower head was broken and fell into the tub. The tub stopper system did not work. I appreciate that rooms are a bit smaller than at home but I felt that the room size and location was a bit pricy.

+ location to areas for sightseeing was very convenient. also proximity to a tram stop was very nice - couldn't be closer as it was just outside the hotel door! On arrival, consierge offered information on sights and other visitor information. Very helpful. Would consider staying here again.

- requested a smoking room and confirmed via phone but when i arrived they did not have me in a smoking room. they did move me the following day but at an additional cost - required a room upgrade. the upgraded room though was nicer than my original "classic" room. cost for weekend night was significantly higher than week rate.

- the room is smaler than the one on the internet ,it is expensive for the month of may that is well before the summer season,we have 3 star hotels of the same standard in uk

+ I recommend the Hotel, very well located close of everything, front desk staff are very polited, patient etc... also with fluent portughese spoken available. Amsterdam itself is a place to GO !!!

- They could not keep their late check out promisse. Please don´t go to their restaurant, the meal is poor and very expensive.

- there is always something wrong with room ie air con or tv etc ,have stayed here 4 times and each time there is something,they usually knock a discount off bill but its wearing thin now.

+ Excellent location and staff. I am sure without building work it would have been an excellent experience. However...

- Extensive building work was being carried out to the restaurant. This meant excessive noise - Pneumatic drill noise from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. for our 2 day stay. This was not indicated on the web site and not told to us on check in - we were given a sealed envelope detailing this at desk. Therefore no facilities. All complaining. Very poor.

+ The Hotel id central in Dam square and close to all services. The deluxe room is spacious ,clean and well equippped and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality hotel stay in the centre.all in all a lovely plac eto spend your vacation

- the room we had was on the alley to macdonalds where people congregate at all times of the night which causes some unwanted noise.

+ The location is perfect! The service and the interior of the room is great too, I felt like I'm at my own flat, not in the hotel. Chocolate surprises every evening is a cery pleasant. Plus is also 24h gym! Nespresso in the room it's just fantastic!!!

- I don't really feel comfortable with the glass wall to the bathroom and toilet. The restaurant menu is a very short and quite poor, especially for night service, if it was reacher I think that I had eaten at the Hotel more often. And mini-bar could have more range of choises. And housekeepers could clean the rooms better, 'cause they don't even sweep the floor and dust!

+ Very warm reception by the staff of the hotel. Great help in trace a lost bag with the Airline until recover and deliver it to our room in less than 8 hours... Very commendable attitude of service... Very good food at their Restaurant... Hotek Locatied in the hart of the best of Amsterdam !!!

+ Our stay was perfect. Hotel quality, comfort and service were superb, and you could not ask for a better, more easy-to-find location for novice travelers. This was our second visit and we will be back again. The easy computer/email access through the business center and a fitness center on the premises (always well-stocked with fresh green apples) were added pluses. I would highly recommend this hotel!

- Absolutely none.

+ I have stayed in few hotels in Amsterdamm and by far Swissotel is my favorite. The people are great very helpfull and extreamly friendly. I highly recomend this hotel. Lots of english tv shows CNN BBC 1 nad 2 Dicovery National geographics to name a few.

- With the dollar in the pits the cost was pretty high,

+ We had a problem with a shower whch overflowed and flooded the bathroom we were instantly transferred and were helped with move. The room was an upgrade which we thoroughly enjoyed at no extra cost.

- No minus points, this is my third visit the Hotel is great.

+ The position of the hotel.

- For the second time we had the problems with the room. We got the worst room in the hotel. We had to be very strick too get the better room. We want a smoking room and got non-smoking. To complain every time on holiday is very unpleasant. we had the feeling that we are not the same guests as others and this is really very stupid, because the price is the same for all.

+ I have stayed at Swissotel Amsterdam several times and have always been happy with my experience. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better and the rooms are well designed, clean and spacious. I have stayed with both family and friends and have always enjoyed the experience.

- Breakfast and wi-fi are not included in room rate. Pillows could be more comfortable.

- We asked to be moved because our superior room had a view of two brick walls and was very dark,ended up in a normal room which still did not have a very good view.Most rooms in this hotel will not offer good views. Way over priced if a view is required

+ Great rooms. Room prices. Fitness room. Stayed three nights. Went to Brussels (stayed at a 5 star hotel for twice the price, Swissotel was much better in all areas) and came back to this hotel for one night. I will be returning to this hotel.

- Expensive wireless internett. But it is not the worst. Free internett at the business center (=three pc and a printer).
