The Times Hotel is an elegant and well-maintained 3-star hotel in the centre of Amsterdam. Situated on the 'Herengracht', a famous Amsterdam canal street, the hotel is an excellent starting point for anyone who wishes to enjoy the many attractions of the inner city, or to taste the atmosphere of Amsterdam's famous ring of canals.
The Times Hotel in Amsterdam is a 3-star hotel in a historic building on the 'Herengracht'. As part of the international hotel group World Hotels, the Times Hotel guarantees a unique location, comfortable rooms, and good service from a professional staff. The hotel is located in a centuries old canal house that was built in 1650 and completely renovated in 2006. The hotel features 33 rooms, each of which is comfortably furnished and colourfully decorated. Each room is equipped with double or twin beds, a toilet, shower and/or bath, a telephone, a broadband Internet connection, and an LCD television. In addition, each room is equipped with air conditioning.
Besides these standard amenities, the Times Hotel has much more to offer its guests. The hotel has a rapid dry-cleaning service and at an additional charge guests can use a sauna that is a mere 2-minute walk away from the hotel. From the attentive reception staff you will be able to buy tickets to excursions or city tours. The personnel can also provide you with any needed information about tourist, cultural, or culinary matters. In the morning the hotel?s guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet in the breakfast area. In the comfortable hotel bar guests can retreat to have a nice drink or a casual conversation.
The hotel offers not only a gorgeous appearance and good service, it also offers its guest an ideal location in the city centre of Amsterdam. For example, the hotel is a mere 500 metre away from the 'Anne Frank Huis', an essential destination for any visitor to the city of Amsterdam. The 'Dam', the famous site of the Royal Palace, the War Monument, and Madame Tussauds, is also merely 400 metre away from the Times Hotel. Those who prefer shopping will appreciate the hotel's close proximity to the 'Bijenkorf' department store and the many shops on the famous 'Kalverstraat'. Furthermore, the hotel?s direct surroundings are perfectly suited for a memorable exploration of Amsterdam?s famous ring of canals, with its many bridges, canals, and stately historic buildings.
Food and Drinks
In the morning the hotel offers a delicious breakfast buffet. It is served from 07:00 h. to 10:00 h on weekdays and from 08:00 h. to 11:00 h. in the weekends. The hotel has a bar where guests can enjoy a nice drink. For a more extensive meal, guests will find that the nearby city centre offers a wide selection of restaurants.
Internet

- Cosy hotel in a nice location.
- Location
- The room we got was just above the reception (very noisy)
We also paid for a canal view but the window was on floor level so it was more of a street view. If this is what you get when booking online then we'll try somewhere else.

- tv with more than average english channels. Good for after visiting coffee shops and wanting to take a bit of time out before heading out again! friendly coffee shop only 3 doors down.
- few immediate restaurants nearby but only a 4 minute walk to Dam Square.

- We LOVED this hotel! Cheaper than most near the center and yet just a few canals away from the tourist center so it felt like we were living in the neighborhood! Rooms are small but all the more charming as it is an old canal house. Lovely canal views with safe and toilet/shower in room! Staff was friendly and helpful and we could walk / bike to everything... would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again!

- The worst, I think is the breakfast that seems to be little industrial (is not natural foods)

- the hotel is right downtown
- 170euros for a room supposed to be with a canal view...
and instead having a pavement view (room151 if I remember correctly)it's just not correct towards the customers...
I thought by putting 170euros in a hotel room I'll have at least a bigger room and this view that was advertised... I had none of it. I was disappointed and will frankly never come back in this hotel.

- Very poor and limited lighting in the room, the desk wass in complete darkness. TV did not work and was reported but no action taken to repair or offer move to a different room. Check-in was extremely slow and inefficient.

- Clean and relatively effficient operation
- No true double beds. for couples this meant having 2 separate beds that would separate if you wnted to cuddle together. This barrier to closeness led us to change hotels for a genuine double bed.

- Complimentary Tea and Coffee downstairs
Friendly Staff, easy going but helpful
Good location for major attractions
- It cost WAY too much for what it offered. £75p/n rooms should have been £45p/n.
Dirty, stained carpets, grey walls on landings and in room - felt like a prison cell.
Room was so small, there were no bedside cabinets or any furniture - only a bed + wardrobe. Not worth £75 in my book.
Very thin walls - take earplugs. Heard conversations from next room and very loud people outside our bedroom late into the night - sound carried.
It wasn't really bad, just felt let down - wasn't the quality I expected.

- I mean way of parking car near your hotel.First of all I could not stop my car in front of your hotel because of the traffic-all the follower driver were flashing me not to stay to unload my luggage. After 3 rounds made finaly I succedeed to discharge it.But the bigest and disagreable situation was with the payment of parking although I had credit card and money cash but no coins.I try to get so many coins late in the night but was not possible. But situation was solved by paying of a penalty higher than 100 Euro. And I am not gulty. For this manner how you assist your visitors for parking car I give you the mark 1(one) and I shall make a not so good advertising to your hotel to my friends.
